Public Broadcasting or Publicity Broadcasting? An Analysis of KBS News Coverage of the Korean Housing Market (KBS의 공보 방송 모형적 성격에 관한 연구 부동산 뉴스 생산 과정을 중심으로)

  • What is the basic nature of Korean public broadcasting system? This research explores this question through an analysis of KBS news coverage of the Korean housing market. This study spotlights the internal news production processes. In detail, this study investigates newsroom routines, such as news selection, news gatherings, and news production. As a result, this study reveals KBS can be classified as "Publicity Model" following reasons. First, KBS news selection process stresses higher viewer ratings for competitive market share and belittles public interests of serving the citizen. This caused KBS news to provide fragmented and truncated news information and to constrict high quality news of significant information for citizen. Second, KBS newsroom operates under the minimum staff resource to produce news programmes and has developed official source dependency as a routine for news gathering. Third, under the limits of report format, KBS news worked as a neutral deliverer of government message and failed to provide more detailed information and diverse viewpoints.

Impact of Service Value, Innovativeness of e-Government Service and Users' Participation on Government Trust (전자정부서비스의 서비스 가치, 혁신성 및 사용자 참여의식이 정부 신뢰에 미치는 영향)

  • New information communication technologies are changing our society completely, offering the government new possibilities for providing citizens and businesses with better, and more efficient E-Government services. This study analyzes the direct and indirect impact of service value, innovativeness, and users' participation level on the trust toward the Government. Results from a citizen survey indicate that service value, innovativeness, and participation positively affect the trust toward the Government, and that innovativeness has been found to affect service value as well as the level of participation. However, the moderating effect of political efficacy on the relationship between two variables(service value and participation) and trust have been found to be insignifcant. Several other findings and policy implications are also discussed.

  • Near-Field Communication(NFC) is a useful technology that is receiving worldwide attention. NFC mobile payment systems are being developed by many technology companies including financial institutions especially for the public transportation. In this research we find several factors for the intention to adopt NFC payment system. We surveyed 355 respondents who live in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam which became more interested by Korean as a post China country to test our research hypothesis. Using Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) we find that the factors of Social influence, Trust, Security, and Users' Convenience play the significant role to the factor of Intention to Use of NFC payment system.

Effects of Service Quality of One Person Start-Ups and Perceived Relational Benefits on Consumer's Behavioral Intention: Focus on Gwangju Area (1인 창업의 서비스 품질, 지각된 관계 혜택이 소비자의 행동의도에 미치는 영향 연구: 광주 지역을 중심으로)

  • This study examined the factors influencing consumer's behavioral intention by one person start-ups in the food-service field, and also looked into the effects of service quality by start-ups and perceived relational benefits on behavioral intention. A questionnaire survey was conducted from March 1 to March 30 on 278 citizens of Gwangju Metropolitan City who used one person start-ups. Regarding research results, 3 variables, namely food quality, food value, and physical environment, were set upas e lower variables of service quality in one person start-ups, while 4 variables,psychological benefits, economic benefits, social benefits, and customer benefits, were established as relational benefits. In addition, regression analysis considering consumer's behavioral intention as dependant variable revealed all paths exhibiting a significant, positive(+) corelation.

Feminization of Poverty : its Trends and Causes (빈곤의 여성화(feminization of poverty) : 경향 및 원인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether "the feminization of poverty" is under process in Korea and what factors are key determinants of these trends. The Korean Labor and Income Panel Study from 1998 to 2005 is used and the sample includes all individuals who aged 18 or more. The results show that the feminization of poverty is still under process since 1998 and the economic status of females is getting worse compared to their counterparts. Regarding the causes of these trends, the level of education and type of employment are significant predictors for explaining the feminization of poverty in cross-sectional data analysis. In the longitudinal analysis, however, the number of persons in households and the number or working persons have significant influences on the feminization of poverty. It is urgently necessary to enact social policies preventing discriminations against females in the labor markets and to introduce social welfare benefits for females based on citizenship. In addition, the welfare benefits for the elderly are also necessary because their economic status is the worst among all age groups.

  • Culture is an indispensable element in modern society in improving the quality of life for city dwellers and stimulating the urbanization. The conspicuous emergence of cultural cities, which is a new paradigm, can be understood in that context. Global cities are pursuing cultural cities, and autonomous regions in Korea are also pushing ahead with the urbanization which combines cultural elements. Specifically, Nam-gu of Incheon has set an example of successful cultural city for other autonomous regions. The cultural environmental policy of Nam-gu is deemed to have retained the infrastructure, cultural urban landscape and living space, and a plenty of contents. The real significance of cultural city lies in the pursuit of sustainable urban development as a culture-friendly city. For that, the direction of cultural environmental city has to be firmly set, and related law and system should be strengthened. Above all, it is critical to pursue human-oriented cultural city by showing citizens what roles they have to play, setting the right direction, and improving the partnership.

  • Korea has been showing a high interest in convergence centered on information and communication technologies for the past 10 years. However, with successful convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication sectors, successful convergence cases such as IPTV have been excluded. In some fields, The performance that citizens can experience is limited. In addition, the combination of the Internet of things and the big data shows that infinite data in the natural and social environment surrounding service users can be created and utilized to create better services. However, the division between departments and departments, And the limitations of policies and systems that can promote convergence of information and communication technologies. Therefore, in order to create new industries through the fusion of the Internet of things and big data, it is necessary to investigate what kind of inhibitory enzymes are present, to investigate the problems, to solve the problems, to develop technologies for activating the Internet and big data, And suggests ways to utilize the policy to promote convergence of related technologies.

The Trends of Youth Research: 'Korean Journal of Youth Studies' in 2010-2018 (청소년 연구의 동향 : 2010년~2018년의 '청소년학연구'지를 중심으로)

  • This paper was intended to identify the knowledge structure of youth-related research by looking at the research trends of research papers published in Korean Journal of Youth Studies from 2010 to 2018. Using keywords extracted from the papers, the Centrality and Cohesion analysis of the keyword network analysis of the NetMiner program were used. In the analysis of degree centrality, the "relationship" was the highest, followed by schools and youth, and high in the order of parents and violence. In the analysis of betweenness centrality, the "relationship" was also the highest, followed by youth, school, need, education, parents, children, abuse/emotion(the same level), institutions, regions, cell phones/prevention/welfare(the same level), elementary, attachment, suicide, addiction, society, violence, children, services, support, policy/teachers(the same level). According to the cohesion analysis, school life and policy, addiction, parent & peer relations, civic education & welfare support, sentiment and thinking, college, abuse & suicide were divided into a total of seven sub-topic subjects.

  • In the modern society, as the city grows and constructive technology gradually develops, land usage has been sophisticated and three-dimensionalized. Consequently, issues such as property ownership and legal claim over ground and underground space have been triggered, which disclose the problems of using two-dimensional cadastral management system. Numerous researches on building three-dimensional cadastral are ongoing such as defining the right relationship of land space and providing the registration and management scheme so as to solve the imminent matter. It is the chief aim of this study to increase efficiency by analyzing the vocational practices through adding on necessary sections and properties for current registration to original research work. If three-dimensional cadastral management system is once constructed, highly qualified services for citizens will be available by providing accurate land related information swiftly, which can result in inevitable improvement of efficiency at work. Hence, this thesis will suggest the internationally suitable feature model development method in terms of standardization by probing into the factual profession to derive each attributes and properties that are related to three-dimensional cadastral and affix them to the classified item requisites of initial research studies.

특성화고 앙트러프러너십이 창업의지에 미치는 영향 연구: 창업멘토링 조절효과를 중심으로

  • 우리나라 특성화고는 산업사회의 각 분야에서 종사할 유능한 인재를 양성하고 합리적이며 능률적인 직업인을 육성하려는 목표로 1998년에 도입되었다. 2010년에는 독일, 스위스, 오스트리아 등에서 자리 잡은 마이스터고 제도를 도입하여 변화를 시도하였다. 유럽에서의 마이스터고는 창업 성공률이 98%에 이를 정도로 창업의지가 높은 학생들로 구성되었다. 우리나라 또한 특성화고 학생들의 창업의지를 높이기 위해서 정부와 민간 기관에서 다양한 시도를 하였다. 창업진흥원의 기업가 마인드 확산 교육 비즈쿨(2002년), 한국시민자원봉사회의 특성화고 대상 창업 마인드 확산 경진대회 Be the CEO(2004년), 아산나눔재단과 어썸스쿨의 앙트러프러너십 교육 히어로스쿨(2014년) 등이 사례이다. 본 저자도 2011년부터 중소벤처기업부와 SK가 공동으로 주최하는 고교생 앱 개발경진대회를 직접 운영하면서 특성화고 학생들의 창업의지를 높이기 위한 방안에 대해 오랫동안 고민하였다. 본 연구에서는 특성화고 학생들의 앙트러프러너십이 창업의지에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 앙트러프러너십의 구성요소는 Miller(1983)가 주장한 위험감수성, 혁신성, 진취성에 기회인지를 추가하였다. 또한, 특성화고 학생들이 학교 교육과 다양한 외부활동을 통하여 접하고 있는 창업멘토링이 앙트러프러너십 구성요소와 창업의지간에 조절효과가 있는지 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 491개(2017년 말) 특성화고등학교 중 지역별로 안배하여 14개 학교 학생들을 대상으로 설문을 시행하였으며, 설문서 287부를 실증분석에 활용하였다. 연구분석 결과 특성화고 학생의 기회인지, 위험감수성, 혁신성, 진취성은 모두 창업의지에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 기회인지, 위험감수성 등 앙트러프러너십 요소와 창업의지 관계에서 창업멘토링의 조절효과는 진취성에만 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 창업멘토링의 조절효과가 진취성에만 국한된 것은 특성화고는 창업보다는 취업 중심의 정책을 운영 중이어서 앙트러프러너십은 높으나 창업의지가 희박한 학생이 많았고, 기존의 창업멘토링 내용이 학생들의 창업의지를 높이는데 실제적인 도움이 되지 못하였으며, 창업을 가로막는 제도 때문에 멘토링 만으로는 창업의지를 높이는데 한계가 존재하였다. 본 연구의 결과가 우리나라 특성화고 학생들의 창업의지를 높이는 방안에 대한 연구를 촉발하는데 조그만 보탬이 되기를 바란다. 또한, 창업의지가 높은 특성화고 학생들이 창업을 실행할 수 있는 환경이 구축되고, 특성화고가 취업중심의 정책에서 창업친화적인 정책으로 개선하는 데 촉매제가 되기를 바란다.
