Rediscovering the Lost Self through Senior Modeling: A Grounded Theory (시니어 모델을 통한 자아 재발견에 관한 근거이론)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the behavior of senior models, and develop a substantive theory. We conducted in-depth interviews with 20 senior models who are 50 years and older. The criterion for inclusion was being a senior model who were actively performing by the time the study was conducted. To ensure trustworthiness of the study, we conducted member checks and peer debriefing. The interviews were transcribed verbatim, and then analyzed using the principles of grounded theory (Strauss & Corbin, 1990). A three-step coding process consisting of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding resulted in identifying a core category - rediscovering the lost self. Our findings suggest that senior modeling activities can be an effective modality to promote well-being of older adults.

  • 2025년 초고령 사회로 진입할 것으로 예상됨에 따라 고령화 시대에 발생하는 문제점들을 IT기술을 응용하여 지능적으로 해결할 수 있는 인공지능 헬스케어 솔루션이 주목받고 있다. BIS리서치의 보고서에 따르면 헬스케어 산업의 챗봇 시장 규모가 2029년 약 4억 9,800만 달러로 성장할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 시니어 사용자를 위한 기술 연구가 적극적으로 필요한 시점이다. 본 논문에서는 사전학습한 언어모델과 BiLSTM기반 신경망 모델을 이용하여 시니어 사용자에게 특화된 질환 증상 인식 모델 구현에 관한 범위 및 방법에 관해 기술한다. 이는 시니어 대상 건강관리 챗봇 솔루션에 도입하여 시니어 사용자에게 자주 발생하는 질환들을 조기에 발견할 수 있도록 지원하여 위험의 발생 예방에 도움을 주는 서비스가 될 것으로 전망한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for the development of the senior care industry in Korea and how to apply it to the Korean market. For this study, a case analysis study was conducted on the successful business model of 'Driving Miss Daisy®'. For the development of Korea's senior care industry, understanding of senior, establishing infrastructure for community care, and improving the treatment of professional personnel care should be preceded. In order to apply 'Driving Miss Daisy®' to the Korean market, it was suggested that it is necessary to reduce regulations, develop differentiated services, establish linkage systems with various service institutions in the community, establish cooperative models between large and small businesses and startups.

  • With the recent spread of smartphones and the introduction of web services, online users can access large-scale content regardless of time or place. However, users have had trouble finding the content they wanted among large-scale content. To solve this problem, user modeling and content recommendation system have been actively studied in various fields. However, in spite of active changes in senior groups according to the changes in information environment, research on user modeling and content recommendation system focused on senior groups are insufficient. In this paper, we propose a method of modeling smart senior based on their preference, and further develop a smart senior classification model using machine learning methods. As a result, we can not only grasp the preferences of smart seniors, but also develop a smart senior classification model, which is the foundation for the research of a recommendation system which will provide the activities and contents most suitable for senior groups.

A Study on the Improvement for Bidet Product-Service Design for Seniors by PSS-based 4D Double Diamond Design Process Model (PSS 기반 4D 더블 다이아몬드 모델을 활용한 시니어를 위한 비데 제품-서비스디자인 개선방안 연구)

  • This study uses the bidet 4D double diamond design process model to propose an improvement for "senior-oriented bidet product service design" that reflects the characteristics and needs of seniors. This study was based on the product service system concept. To this end, qualitative research on seniors was conducted to derive user value factors, and, based on this, product service ideas were discovered, and a prototype reflecting the usefulness review of a working-level expert group was proposed. First, a "smart application service for user-customized function setting guide" was proposed. A bidet incorporating Internet of Things technology and a smart phone are linked to provide an app service that automatically interprets user characteristic information and information on bidet products to guide customized functions. Second, a control panel and remote control user interface to "user-oriented product service interface" was proposed. In consideration of the usability and cognitive ability of seniors, a simple and intuitive physical user interface such as a configuration centered on main functions, button arrangement according to task sequence, and a touch screen remote control was presented. Third, we proposed a "bidet care service linked with products and health/hygiene care" that provides a wide range of services such as user health and hygiene, cleanliness, entertainment, etc., in addition to regular bidet product service. This study proposed a product-based service design methodology that can improve user experience and relationship quality by discovering and improving the pain points and needs of users (seniors) in the process of using bidet products (before, during, and after use).

  • 디지털 기술의 급속한 발전으로 시간과 공간의 제약이 없는 인프라 환경이 구현되면서 더욱 더 유연하고 빠른 적응성에 대한 요구가 정치, 경제, 문화 전반에 확산됨에 따라 IT 기술을 통해서 이러한 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 서비스로 대두되고 있는 것이 바로 클라우드 서비스이다. 이러한 클라우드 서비스 시대의 개막은 관련 기업뿐만아니라 공공기관, 개인에 이르기까지 모든 영역의 서비스 이용자들의 삶에도 큰 변화를 가져오고 있다. 본 연구에서는 더욱 더 사회적 이슈가 되고 있는 고령화 사회에 대응하기 위한 클라우드 서비스 비즈니즈 모델을 개발하기 위한 프레임워크를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 고령화 사회를 정의하고 변화를 분석하고 클라우드 산업 비즈니스 모델 구성요소를 찾기 위한 시장 다이나믹스 분석을 통해 클라우드 비즈니스 모델에 영향을 주는 시니어 마켓 변화 동인을 확인하고 시니어 마켓을 활성화하기 위해 고령층의 니즈를 분류한다. 그리고 고객니즈 변화 분석과 가치사슬분석을 하여 나온 고객니즈와 제공하는 기능을 축으로 비즈니스 모델을 설계한다. 또한 시니어 마켓 변화 동인에 따른 환경변화 속에서 성장을 지속 가능하게 하는 비즈니스 모델 진화를 분석한다. 마지막으로 변화하는 비즈니스 모델을 평가하기 위한 프레임워크를 제시하여 기업 상황에 맞는 비즈니스 모델을 선택하는데 도움을 두고자 한다.

  • 초 고령사회가 전망됨에 따라 적극적인 문화향유를 즐기는 다양한 신체적 활동성이 있는 새로운 실버세대를 스마트 시니어라고 지칭한다. 이전 연구에서는 스마트 시니어의 신체적 노화나 운동능력 저하를 고려하여 제공하는 맞춤형 UI/UX 콘텐츠 서비스를 제공하였다. 또한 스마트 시니어의 인지 반응 검사를 통하여 인지적 특성 저하 요소를 파악하고 A, B, C 그룹으로 나뉘어 그룹 특성에 맞게 글자 크기, 폰트 종류, 재생 속도 등 설정을 조정하여 맞춤형 UI/UX 콘텐츠를 제공하였다. 그러나 약 180여개의 인지 반응 검사를 진행함에 따라 스마트 시니어의 집중력 저하의 문제점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 시니어의 인지 반응 검사지와 온라인 콘텐츠에서 스마트 시니어가 활동하여 변경된 설정 값을 이용하여 유의미한 인지반응 검사지를 추출하고 인지 반응 검사지 결과를 통해 상세한 맞춤형 UI/UX 콘텐츠를 제공하는 모델을 제안한다.

  • Now that we are entering an aging society, the user interface for new devices and IoT technology is very inconvenient for senior generation. To improve this, we propose an AI technology-based intelligent senior assistant voice recognition system. This system implements Cloud platform based API to accumulate data for machine learning processing, provides content for diagnosis and prevention of dementia, and provide chat-bot content for senior generation. We hope that senior generations will increase the accessibility and convenience of IoT devices and new technology devices with our system.

Continuance Use Intention of Kiosk Services: The Mediating Role of Satisfaction (외식업체 키오스크의 지속 이용 의도에 대한 연구: 만족도의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • In the food market, kiosks are rapidly expanding. The kiosk improves the in-store consumer experience and economic prosperity of businesses. This research explores the continuance use intention of kiosks via a post-acceptance model with four antecedent variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, confirmation, and satisfaction. An online survey was conducted with 420 senior consumers, aged 50-70, who have experienced kiosk services. This study used SPSS 25.0 for descriptive analysis and Amos 23.0 for confirmatory factor anlysis, structural equation analysis, and mediate the effect of the bootstrapping method. The following results were obtained. First, perceived usefulness and confirmation significantly influenced satisfaction with kiosks. Second, perceived usefulness and satisfaction significantly influenced continuance use intention. Third, satisfaction mediated the relationship between perceived usefulness and continuance use intention. Fourth, satisfaction mediated the relationship between confirmation and continuance use intention. These findings enhanced the understanding of seniors' attitude and response to kiosk services.

Predicting Kiosk Discontinuance (키오스크 이용 중단 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study explores the discountinued use intention of kiosk, applying integration model with technology acceptance and theory of planned behavior. An online survey was conducted with 420 senior consumers aged 50-70. This research used SPSS 25.0 for descriptive, t-test, correlation, and regression analysis. Theses results are as follows. First, perceived usefulness, perceived control and satisfaction were higher among male group than female group. Second, perceived usefulness, affective inertia and behavior inertia were significantly influenced the discountined use intention of kiosk in male group. Third, perceived control, behavior inertia and cognitive inertia were significantly influenced the discountined use intention of kiosk in female group. These results enhance understanding of seniors' attitude and negative response to kiosk.
