Persuasive Effects Depending on the Type of Creative Ads in Social Media and User Sensitivity and Empathy (SNS 미디어의 크리에이티브 유형과 사용자의 민감성 및 공감적 이해에 따른 설득 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in advertising effect of visual rhetoric type of Facebook ads depending on the user sensitivity and level of empathy. The experiment was designed as a between-subjects factorial design (visual rhetoric type) × 2 (brand sensitivity) × 2 (level of empathic understanding). The results of the experiment performed to analyze the strategies of Facebook ads for ads effectiveness can be summarized as follows: a three-way interaction effect for persuasive effects was found among the type of visual rhetoric, brand sensitivity, and empathic understanding for both types of visual rhetoric. Breaking down it by type of rhetoric, no interacting effect was observed between brand sensitivity and empathic understanding levels for the visual simile ads in most of the dependent variables. For the visual metaphor ads, however, the brand sensitivity and empathic understanding levels were found to have interaction effect in all dependent variables.

Analysis on Effects of Visual Messages and Auditory Messages on Pedestrian Safety Behavior (시각적 메시지와 시각적-청각적 메시지가 보행자의 안전행동에 미치는 효과분석)

  • Pedestrians are the most vulnerable road users. According to one analysis of traffic accidents over a five year period, pedestrians accounted for about 40% of all road traffic deaths in South Korea. Although some policy and engineering approaches have been taken to reduce and prevent traffic accidents, the annual accident change rate is -0.7%, which is insufficient. This study verifies the effectiveness of presenting visual messages to pedestrians and the effect from adding auditory messages to the visual messages. The experiment was conducted on crosswalks adjacent to an intersection, and safety behaviors were recorded for a total of 898 pedestrians and considered sufficient. As a result of the study, overall pedestrian safety behavior improved when both visual and auditory messages were presented, rather than just visual messages. Therefore, the results indicate it is more effective to provide a mixed visual/auditory form of messages, rather than providing single stimulus messages.

  • 본 연구는 동작 속도별 마찰음의 주관적 평가에 있어서 시각적 변수의 영향을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 현재 유통되고 있는 79 종의 스포츠웨어용 투습발수직물 중 음향 특성으로 계층적 군집분석에 의해 나누어진 3 개의 군집에서 각각 하나씩 추출한 총 3가지 시료를 대상으로 walking, jogging, running의 속도로 마찰시켜 총 9가지의 소리에 대하여 실험하였다. 직물 소리에 대한 주관적 평가 시 시각적 변수의 영향을 분석하기 위하여 두 가지 방법으로 직물 소리에 대한 주관적 반응을 평가하였다. 첫 번째는 기존의 연구에서 주로 이루어진 방법으로, 실험 진행자가 피험자에게 직물소리를 들려주면서 설문을 하게 하였다. 두 번째는 녹음된 직물의 소리와 함께 모니터를 통해 해당 자극물의 마찰 속도에 따라 인체 모델이 움직이는 동작을 보여줌으로써 청각과 시각 자극을 동시에 제시하여 주관적 평가의 자극물로 사용하였다. 주관적 평가는 8개의 형용사 쌍에 대해 의미미분척도로 평가되었고, 두 가지 방법을 비교하기 위하여 '실제 옷을 착용하고 움직일 때 발생하는 직물 소리와 유사하게 들린다.' 와 '옷을 착용하고 움직일 때 발생하는 소리라고 느껴진다.' 두 문항을 추가하여 평가하였다. 그 결과 시각 자극의 유무에 의한 감성평가 결과에는 큰 영향을 미치지는 않았지만, 피험자가 소리만으로 직물이 마찰되는 장면을 의식적으로 상상해야 하는 심리적 부담을 줄여주었고, 주관적 평가 몰입도를 향상시켰다고 사료된다.

The Effects of Visual and Phonological Similarity on Hanja Word Recognition (시각 형태 정보와 소리 정보가 한자 단어 재인에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 한자를 이용하여 시각 정보 (Visual Information)와 음성 정보(Phonological Information)가 단어 재인과 단어 명명 과정에 어떻게 영향을 주는 지를 조사하기 위하여 실시되었다. 기존의 영어를 이용한 연구에서는 시각 정보와 음성 정보를 독립적으로 조작할 수 없었기에 두 요소가 단어 재인에 어떤 영향을 주는 지를 살피는데 어려움이 있었다. 그러나 한자단어를 이용하면 시각 정보와 음성 정보를 독립적으로 조작할 수 있기 때문에 영어 단어를 사용하는 것보다 유리하다. 본 실험에서는 한자 단어를 이용하여 점화 단어 (Prime Word)와 목표 단어(Target Word)간의 시간간격(SOA)을 100 ms, 200 ms, 750 ms, 그리고 2000 ms로 변화시키면서 시간이 흐름에 따라 시각적 유사성과 음성적 유사성에 의한 점화 효과(Priming Effect)가 어떻게 변화하는 지를 조사하였다. 이 실험 결과에 의하면, 100 ms 조건에서는 시각적 유사성에 의한 점화 효과만 있었다. 그러나, 200 ms, 750 ms, 2000 ms 조건들에서는 시각적 유사성뿐만 아니라 음성적 유사성에 의해서도 점화효과가 있었다. 이와 같은 실험 결과는 최초의 한자 단어의 어휘 접근 (Lexical Access)이 시각 정보에 의해 결정됨을 보여주고 있다.

Convergence Analysis of the between Visual Analog Scale and Recovery Time according to the Types of Injury of Elite Wrestling Athletes (엘리트 레슬링선수들의 손상유형에 따른 시각적 상사 척도와 회복 기간과의 융복합분석)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relation between visual analogue scale and recovery time with type of injury that occur in elite wrestling athletes. The incidence rate of injury was analyzed the Poisson ratio, and the VAS and recovery time according to the type of injury were compared using the one-way ANOVA. In addition, the VAS and recovery time were examine the relationship using the Simple Linear Regression, and statistical significance level was α =.05. Injuries occurred most commonly in the ligament, followed by the muscle, cartilage and tendon.The VAS and recovery time according to the type of injury was statistically significant (p=.001, p=.001, respectively). The VAS and recovery time according to the type of injury was statistically significant (p=.001, p=.001). Also, increase in VAS of 1 point was associated with about 1.89 recovery time. These studies are expected to be useful as basic data for return to sports and safe training.

The Analysis of 5th Graders' Visual Representation in Mathematical Problem Solving (수학 문제해결에서 초등학교 5학년 학생들의 시각적 표현 분석)

  • Visual representation has been a useful tool in mathematical problem solving because it vividly express and structure the variables in the problem. But its effects may vary according to the types of problems. So, this study analyzes the survey results on the 5th graders' visual representations using questionnaire consisting of the routine problems and the non-routine problems. The results are follows: The rate of correct answers in routine problems was higher than that of the non-routine problems. Even though the subjects were asked to solve the problem using visual representations, the ratio of solving the problem using the numerical expression was high in the routine problems. On the other hand, the rate of solving the problem using visual representation was high in the non-routine problems. The number of respondents who used visual representation in the non-routine problems was twice as many as that of the routine problems. But, among the subjects who used visual representation in the non-routine problems, the proportion of incorrect answers was also high, which resulted in using visual pictures. So, it is necessary to provide an experience that can use various types of the visual representations for problem solving and pay attention to the process of converting problems into visual representations.

Differences in Visual Sensibility Evaluation of Basic Color Fashion Materials in Person and on Digital Screens (실물과 디지털 화면에서 베이직 컬러 패션 소재의 시각적 감각 평가 차이)

  • The perception of a fashion product may vary depending on the texture and color of its material. Additionally, the product may appear differently in person versus on a digital screen. Therefore, in the present study, we sought to investigate the differences in visual sensibility evaluation between materials in person and on digital screens. In this study, three pairs of visual sensibility adjectives were tested for 60 samples selected as fashion materials. Fashion materials were divided into colors, embossings, and visual clarity categories. Results showed that each color had the same sense during in-person and digital evaluation. In terms of visual sensibility according to embossing, both in-person and digital evaluations of materials with embossings were found to have the same visual sense, whereas those without embossings looked different between in-person and digital evaluations. Assessments based on visual classification showed that both in-person and digital evaluations had the same sensibility. This study is meaningful in suggesting that when evaluating the visual sense of fashion material, the sensation for the digital screen versus in person may be different in some cases.

  • Certain complex forces are existing at the other side of a canvas. These are visual arrangements and within the arrangement, even the simple combination of dots and lines create more than visual patterns. No matter what form that visual art has taken, it is performed in a certain space and it is constucted with various visual elements. For effective communication, visual elements must form a stable sturcture by extablishing organic relationship among each other. These requires an understanding of the human visual characteristics and psychonology, because human sight senses the same biological and psychological visual elements differently in its force and weight, according to the position within a given space. Although the structure which controls such force and weight exists within a peice of work, it is a internal plan of the work that actually controls the communication through a man\ulcorner psychological reactions towards the horizontal and virtical structures within it. Moreover it is a visual statement that effectively expresses a theme or a message. This thesis has studied visual structures through the analysis of art pieces regarding of these kind of a visual picture plane, characteristics of a picture plane formed by a structure of force existing on the other side of the picture and the theory of visual balance. In addition, the aim of this study is to help designers who deals with visual image works to understand the visual structures and psychological recognitions and to apply these picture plane compositions at their real work by recognizing the psychological power within the construction elements.

The Changes of the Visual Dominance Effect due to Semantic Congruence of Visual and Auditory Information (시각과 청각 정보의 의미적 일치성에 따른 시각 우세성 효과의 변화)

  • When visual and auditory information is presented simultaneously, we perceive visual information dominantly over auditory information. This effect is called the visual dominance effect. This study was to examine the influence of semantic congruence of visual and auditory information on the visual dominance effect. The semantic congruence of visual and auditory information was manipulated. The results showed that the visual dominance effect obtained in error rates was not modulated by semantic congruence, whereas the effect in RT was. It is suggested that this modulation of the influence of semantic congruence on the visual dominance effect would be due to the task type.

  • In this thesis we present the way of visually intuitive interface to the web site users through the comparison of NIN web site with clearly intuitive web site. Improving the web site which has NIN problem to visually intuitive we can achieve web site's visitors who want to buy something got a feeling of graphical excellence and understand web site navigational structure easily through the intuitive navigational design and complete purchasing easily therefore these are to be the basis of the internet business systems goal which is assumed as business success. In a experiment we examine web site's case study and to make an implementation we use flash to solve NIN problem which is improved in a visually intuitive.
