A Study on Hairstyle Types and Preference according to Occupational Groups of Modern Women (현대 여성의 직업군에 따른 헤어스타일 유형 및 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • It is a reality that office workers in modern society cannot overlook their appearance management for promotion in the workplace that does not fall behind in competition with others and smooth human relationships. According to this social trend, it is time to conduct an in-depth cosmetology study on the appearance management and perception of office workers, including hair styles. Therefore, this study analyzed the hair style type and preference closely by cross-analyzing the differences between groups by classifying the occupational persons of female airline crew, female soldiers, female sportsmen, female lawyers, and female nurses into age, marriage, academic background, and occupation. As result of study, it was found that different women in each occupational group had different results, such as their current hair style type and hair texture, the use of current hair styling products, and their personal preference for women's hairstyles and hair colors. This study will be used as basic data for developing new mode items that meet customer needs in the beauty marketing market and researching customer demand.

A Safety Culture's Effect on Safety Behavior of Airline Flight Crews in Korea (국내 항공사 운항승무원의 안전문화가 안전행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Aircraft accidents are characterized by a low probability of survival compared to other means of transportation, and the main causes appear to be human factors such as violation of regulations and communication. In order to activate the safety management system to prevent such accidents, an important key variable is to recognize the importance of safety culture and actively engage in safety behavior rather than simply emphasizing compliance with regulations to flight crew members. Even if there are well-established regulations, safety culture, The effectiveness varies depending on the safety atmosphere and level of safety behavior. In this study, the correlation between safety culture and safety behavior was verified through a survey of domestic flight crew members' awareness of safety culture. The results showed that fair culture and self-reporting were not activated enough to have a significant impact on safety behavior. We aim to improve the performance of the safety management system by confirming the characteristics of safety culture and safety behavior.

Design and Implementation of an HNS Accident Tracking System for Rapid Decision Making (신속한 의사결정을 위한 HNS 사고이력관리시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • HNS accidents involve large-scale fires and explosions, causing numerous human casualties and extreme environmental pollution in the surrounding area. The widespread diffusion of effects should be prevented through rapid decision making. In this study, a high-quality, standardized, and digitized HNS accident databases has been generated based on the HNS standard code proposed. Furthermore, the HNS Accident Tracking System (HATS) was applied and implemented to allow for systematic integration management and sharing. In addition, statistical analysis was performed on 76 cases of domestic HNS accident data collected over 23 years using HATS. In Korea, an average of 3.3 HNS accidents occurred each year and major HNS accident factors were Springs (41 %), Aprons (51 %), Chemical Carriers (49 %), Crew's Fault (45 %) and Xylenes (12 %).   • Safety Management System is the aviation industry policy for while operating the aircraft, to ensure the safety crew, aircraft and passengers. For operating a safe aircraft, in order to establish the international technical standards, the International Civil Aviation Organization has established the Annex 19 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. As a result, member country was supposed to be in accordance with the policy of the International Civil Aviation Organization, to accept the international standard of domestic air law. The South Korean government announced that it would promote active safety management strategy in primary aviation policy master plan of 2012. And, by integrating and state safety programmes(ssp) and safety management system(sms) for the safe management of Annex 19 is to enforce the policy on aviation safety standards. State safety programmes(ssp) is a system of activities for the aim of strengthening the safety and integrated management of the activities of government. State safety programmes(ssp) is important on the basis of the data of the risk information. Collecting aviation hazard information is necessary for efficient operation of the state safety programmes(ssp) Korean government must implement the strategy required to comply with aviation methods and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization. Airlines, must strive to safety features for safety culture construction and improvement of safety management is realized. It is necessary to make regulations on the basis of the aviation practice, for aviation safety regulatory requirements, aviation safety should reflect the opinion of the aviation industry.

Comparative review of the guidelines for the infection prevention and control in the cabin during flight - Focused on the guidelines of U.S., Canada, E.U., Australia and China (운항 중 항공기 내 감염병 확산 방지를 위한 해외 주요 지침의 대응 요소 분석 연구 - 미국, 캐나다, 유럽연합, 호주, 중국의 객실 운영지침을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: As communicable disease, COVID-19, pandemic strikes over the world, it is critically bewared that air travel possibly be a major pass way to deliver the infectious disease virus. Especially the airplane could be an unique environment to cultivate the virus spreaders. In order to keep the continuous safe airway as well as the industry, related international associations and organizations have been published the guidelines for the prevention and control the infectious disease through the all aspects of aviation. By reviewing the guidelines, focusing on the in-flight infection prevention and control, this study would not only inform a summary of the international guidelines but also provide an essential and general consideration for related research or guideline study. Methods: Guidelines of 5 major countries are reviewed, which has been seriously influenced by COVID-19 : U.S., Canada, E.U., Australia and China. The items of the guidelines are re-categorized as its similarity and structure by applicable cases. Results: The result of this study shows that each guideline seems to share a major structure and issue such as identifying sick traveler, sick passenger care, and cleaning even though that of China has a different since it used to consider the flight conditions based on 3 levels of infection risk. For sick passenger care, the guidelines includes crew safety, service level, sick passenger isolation, and cleaning. Implications: A published guideline as a public manual could be to prevent and control the in-flight infection efficiently and promptly. It also could provide a confidence of knowledge and educate for all users to prepare the in-flight emergency as well.

A study on applying of the ITC-Hulls & ISM Code for the Accident of the Foundering Ship (선박침몰사고에 따른 ITC 협회약관 및 ISM Code 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper was provided to apply the ITC-Hulls Clauses & ISM Code for the accident of sunken ship which was occurred by seamen's barratry. For the causes of the sunken accident, the underwriter insisted toot shipowner submerged the vessel intentionally for the purpose of the insured amounts, while shipowner protests toot the ship was submerged because of crews faults. In this connection, the judge sentenced toot this accident was caused by humans errors as the Provisions of 6.2.4 of ITC-Hulls, however shipowner is responsible for hiring onboard qualified seafarers and carrying out the due diligence for performing ISM Code for ensuring ship's safety and seaworthiness.

  • Automatic announcement systems and emergency lights are necessary to prevent urban railway vehicles from accident, according to the emergency response guideline of domestic railroad. When emergency situation occurs, safety regulations and standards for urban railway vehicles specify that the emergency lights must be turn-on over 30 minutes as well as that the announcement should be provided by an attendant. However, as the current emergency systems use different units without a standard and system maintenance and management is not well performed, it is difficult to know the operation status. In this paper, modularized structures are given to standardize the emergency systems. The modularized structures analyzed from emergency scenarios of railway can substitute the existing broadcasting and lighting system. As a result, the optimized modular system considering cost and maintenance can be proposed by comparing all modularizations.

  • Airlines tried to introduce training programs in connection with practical work in order to provide more effective education and training. To this end, airlines have been conducting evidence-based training(EBT) to strengthen the practical capabilities of aviation personnel and enhance safety culture. Airlines can systematically evaluate the capabilities and practical capabilities of aviation personnel by analyzing operational data and case studies for effective EBT model development. In addition, EBT models can be constructed by applying technical methods such as crew resource management (CRM) and a holistic approach that includes human factors. Due to the introduction of EBT, airlines will establish diagnostic and feedback systems for pilots' practical work, provide personalized education, and establish an education and training system that verifies the effectiveness of education through educational outcomes.

  • Despite the development of the aviation industry, aircraft accidents due to pilots' human errors continue to occur. The cause of aircraft accidents due to human errors is that they cannot remove hazard factors that hinder flight safety in advance, leading to accidents. This study examined how job stress, fatigue, and anxiety, which psychologically and physically affect flight safety among various hazard factors, affect pilots' safety behavior for flight crew and pilots of general aviation working in domestic airlines. In addition, an empirical analysis was conducted to confirm the mediating effect of safety culture between job stress and safety behavior. According to the results of the study, job stress not only directly affects the safety behavior of pilots, but also affects the safety culture of airlines such as safety atmosphere and reporting culture. The purpose of this study is to improve the performance of the safety management system through the correlation between the pilot's job stress and safety culture and safety behavior.

  • Reduced crew performance is frequently cited as a major causal factor in maritime accident causation. Although considerable research has been conducted on the hours of work undertaken by seafarers through interviews and the analysis of records, experimental studies to observe the effects of factors such as high workload, shift patterns, stress, sleep deprivation and disturbance on the cognitive performance of mariners have been limited. Other safety-critical transport industries, such as aviation and rail, have developed fatigue management tools to help manage the work patterns of their operators. Such a tool for mariners would assist shipboard crew, marine pilots and shore management in planning and improving work schedules. The overall aim of this paper is to determine a fatigue factor, which can be applied to human performance data, as part of a software program that calculates total cognitive performance. This program enables us to establish the levels of cognitive performance of a group of marine pilots to test a decision-making task based on radar information. This paper addresses one of the factors that may contribute to the determination of various fatigue factors: the effect of different work patterns on the cognitive performance of a marine pilot.
