  • In this paper, we propose a new register file architecture called the Register File Extension for Multi-words or Long-word Operation (RFEMLO) to accelerate both symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms. Based on the idea that most of cryptographic algorithms heavily use multi-words or long-word operations, RFEMLO allows multiple contiguous registers to be specified as a single operand. Thus, a single instruction can specify a SIMD-style multi-word operation or a long-word operation. RFEMLO can be applied to general purpose processors by adding instruction set for multi-words or long-word operands and functional units for additional instruction set. To evaluate the performance of RFEMLO, we use Simplescalar/ARM 3.0 (with gcc 2.95.2) and run detailed simulations on various symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms. By applying RFEMLO, we could get maximum 62% and 70% reductions in the total instruction count of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms respectively. Also, performance results show that a speedup of 1.4 to 2.6 can be obtained in symmetric cryptographic algorithms and a speedup of 2.5 to 3.3 can be obtained for asymmetric cryptographic algorithms when we apply RFEMLO to a processor with an in-order pipeline. We also found that RFEMLO can effectively improve the performance of these cryptographic algorithms with much less cost compared to issue-width increase available in Superscalar implementations. Moreover, the RFEMLO can also be applied to Superscalar processor, leading to additional 83% and 138% performance gain in symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms.

  • Current mathematics It is necessary to ensure that ratio and proportion concept is not distorted or broken while being treated as if they were easy to teach and learn in school. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the activities presented in the textbook. Based on prior work, this study reinterpreted the proportional reasoning task from the proportional perspective of Beckmann and Izsak(2015) to the multiplicative structure of Vergnaud(1996) in four ways. This compared how they interpreted the multiplicative structure and relationships between two measurement spaces of ratio and rate units and proportional expression and proportional distribution units presented in the revised textbooks of 2007, 2009, and 2015 curriculum. First, the study found that the proportional reasoning task presented in the ratio and rate section varied by increasing both the ratio structure type and the proportional reasoning activity during the 2009 curriculum, but simplified the content by decreasing both the percentage structure type and the proportional reasoning activity. In addition, during the 2015 curriculum, the content was simplified by decreasing both the type of multiplicative structure of ratio and rate and the type of proportional reasoning, but both the type of multiplicative structure of percentage and the content varied. Second, the study found that, the proportional reasoning task presented in the proportional expression and proportional distribute sections was similar to the previous one, as both the type of multiplicative structure and the type of proportional reasoning strategy increased during the 2009 curriculum. In addition, during the 2015 curriculum, both the type of multiplicative structure and the activity of proportional reasoning increased, but the proportional distribution were similar to the previous one as there was no significant change in the type of multiplicative structure and proportional reasoning. Therefore, teachers need to make efforts to analyze the multiplicative structure and proportional reasoning strategies of the activities presented in the textbook and reconstruct them according to the concepts to teach them so that students can experience proportional reasoning in various situations.

  • This study proposed an integrated approach to multiplication as a way to help students understand multiplication in elementary mathematics. The integrated approach to multiplication is to give students a broad understanding of multiplication by solving a situation of multiplication in a variety of ways in mathematics classes, exploring and discussing each other's methods. The integrated approach to multiplication was derived from a number of previous studies that emphasized various approaches, a consistent approach, and a specific approach to multiplication. As results, the integrated approach of multiplication can be interpreted in four ways as a situation of multiplication, and each method is connected to important characteristics of multiplication emphasized in previous studies. In addition, this study has theoretically confirmed that the integrated approach to multiplication is important not only for multiplication but also for division, fraction and operation of fractions, ratios, rates, and proportions. This study is expected to provide some implications for teachers with regard to multiplication in elementary school mathematics.

  • In present study, a two dimensional unsteady Navier-Stokes solver has been developed using the Diagonalized ADI (DADI) method and implicit dual time stepping method. The jacobian matrices in steady state Navier-Stokes equations are introduced from inviscid flux terms. The implicit treatment of artificial dissipation terms results in a block penta-diagonal matrix system and it becomes a scalar penta-diagonal matrix by diagonalization. In steady state equations about fictitious time, a new residual including a real time derivative term is introduced. From a converged solution about fictitious time, a real time unsteady solution can be obtained, which is called 'implicit dual time stepping method'. For code validation, an oscillating flat plate, a regular Karman vortices past a circular cylinder and shock buffeting around a bicircular airfoil problems are numerically solved. And they are compared with a theoretical solution, experiments and other researcher's computations.

  • In this paper, we propose a new function embedding method that can measure mathematical projections of probability amplitude, probability, average expectation and matrix elements of stationary-state unit matrix at all control operation points of quantum gates. The function embedding method in this paper is to embed orthogonal normalization condition of probability amplitude for each control operating point into a binary scalar operator by using Dirac symbol and Kronecker delta symbol. Such a function embedding method is a very effective means of controlling the arithmetic power function of a unitary gate in a unitary transformation which expresses a quantum gate function as a tensor product of a single quantum. We present the results of evolutionary operation and projective measurement when we apply the proposed function embedding method to the ternary 2-qutrit cNOT gate and compare it with the existing methods.
