A study on development of RGB color variable optical ID module considering smart factory environment (스마트 팩토리 환경을 고려한 RGB 컬러 가변형 광 ID 모듈개발 연구)

  • Smart Factory is a concept of automatic production system of machines by the fusion of ICT and manufacturing. As a base technology for realizing such a smart factory, there is an increasing interest in a low-power environmentally friendly LED lighting system, and researches on so-called optical ID related application technologies such as communication using a LED and position recognition are actively underway. In this paper, We have proposed a system that can reliably identify logistics location and additional information without being affected by electromagnetic interference such as high voltage, high current, and generator in the plant. Through the basic experiment, we confirmed the applicability of the color ID recognition rate from 98.8% to 93.8% according to the eight color variations in the short distance.

  • Visible light communication technology, which is a communication using LED lighting, is defined by IEEE 802.15.7 WG and active research is under way. Visible light communication is advantageous not only to avoid interference with existing RF communication but also to provide location based service through accurate positioning by utilizing LOS (Line of Sight) characteristic. Therefore, it is very easy and efficient to locate and track the user's location. In this paper, we implemented a visible light communication transceiver using USB interface for easy application to portable devices. It supports the mobility of mobile devices through internet protocol and showed BER performance of less than $10^{-3}dBm$ at over 1m, which is the height of lighting and smart device during walking.

  • This paper describes the design and development of a smart digital load cell used forweighing installations. Sice the load cell sensor to be used is very sensitive for weight cariation, the load cell must have the temperature stability, low-drift and the high-resolution of the A/D conversion for accuracy. A new analog circuit which is controlled by one chip micro-processer has been developed to reduce the offset voltage and the drift characteristics of operational amplifiers, and has been adapted into the digital load cell. Also, a software algorithm has been developed to obtain the stable and accurate A/D conversion. This software includes a RS-485 communication program to control the digital load cell, which gives a capability of backing-up the calibration data and transferring control data. The simulation and evaluation of the designed digital load cell has been shown as having the good performance. which will give useful application to the weighing installations as a remote weighing sensor.

수직형 발광다이오드의 표면패턴 밀도 증가에 따른 광추출 효율 향상에 관한 연구

  • 최근 질화물계 발광다이오드(light emitting diode, LED) 소자는 핸드폰, 스마트 TV 등의 디스플레이 분야와 실내외조명, 감성조명, 특수조명 등의 조명분야에 그 응용분야가 급속히 확대되고 있다. 이러한 LED 소자는 에너지 절감과 친환경에 장점을 가지고, 가까운 미래에 조명시장을 대체할 것으로 예상된다. 이를 만족하기 위해서는 현재보다 더 높은 효율을 갖는 LED 개발이 요구되어지고 있는 상황이다. 일반적으로 질화물계 LED 소자의 효율은 내부양자 효율, 광추출 효율 등으로 나타낼 수 있다. 내부 양자효율은 성장된 결정의 질의 개선 및 다층의 이종접합 또는 다중양자우물 구조와 같이 활성층의 캐리어 농도를 높이는 접합구조로 설계되어 80% 이상의 효율을 나타낸다. 그러나 광추출 효율은 이에 미치지 못하고 있다. 이는 반도체 재료의 높은 굴절률로 인하여 빛이 외부로 탈출하지 못하고 내부로 반사되거나 물질 안에서 흡수가 일어나기 때문이다. 따라서 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 많은 연구 그룹들은, 표면에 패턴 형성하여 빛의 전반사를 줄여 그 효율을 올리는 연구결과를 보고하고 있다. 대표적인 방법으로는 wet etching, 전자빔 리소그라피, 나노임프린트 리소그라피, 레이저 홀로 리그라피, 나노스피어 리소그라피 등이 사용되고 있다. 이 중, 나노스피어 리소그라피는 폴리스틸렌 혹은 실리카 등과 같은 나노 크기의 bead를 사용하여 반도체 기판 표면에 단일층으로 고르게 코팅한 마스크로 사용하여 패턴을 주는 방법이다. 이 방법의 장점으로는 대면적에 균일한 패턴을 형성할 수 있고, 공정비용이 저렴하여 양산하기에 적합하다는 특징이 있다. 나노스피어 리소그라피를 통해서 표면에 생성된 패턴 모양의 각도에 따라서, 식각되는 깊이에 변화에 따라 실험한 결과들은 있지만, 아직까지 크기가 다른 나노입자들의 마스크 이용하여 형성된 패턴 밀도에 따른 광 추출 효과에 대한 연구가 많이 미흡하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 크기의 실리카로 패턴을 형성시켜 패턴 밀도에 대한 광추출 효율의 효과에 대해서 조사하였다. 실험 방법으론, DI, 에탄올, TEOS, 암모니아의 순서대로 그 혼합 비율을 조정하여 100, 250, 500 nm 크기의 나노입자를 합성하였고 이것을 질화물계 LED의 표면 위에 단일층으로 스핀코팅 방법을 통해 코팅을 하였다. 그 후 ICP-RIE 방법으로 필라 패턴을 형성하였는데, 그 결과 100 nm SiO2 입자를 이용한 경우 $4.5{\times}10^9$/$cm^2$, 250 nm의 경우 $1.4{\times}10^9$/$cm^2$, 500 nm의 경우 $0.4{\times}10^9$/$cm^2$의 패턴의 밀도를 보여주었다(Fig. 1). 패턴의 밀도에 따라 전계광학적 특성을 확인하여 보았는데, 그 결과는 평평한 표면과 비교하였을 때 100 nm에서 383%, 250 nm에서는 320%, 500 nm에서는 244% 상승하는 결과를 보여주었다(Fig. 2). 이번 실험을 통해서 LED의 광추출 효율은 표면 모양과 깊이 뿐 아니라 밀도가 커질수록 그 효율이 올라간다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper introduces a manufacturing facility visualization system for the monitoring of smart factories. With the development of technology and the emergence of such terms as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Industry 4.0, technologies for smart factories are becoming more important. A Manufacturing Execution System that can improve productivity and help decision making by monitoring production plants in real-time is one of the key technologies for smart factories. The application of digital twin technology for more accurate monitoring technology is also an important issue. However, digital twin implementations require an integrated infrastructure that can integrate facility data from multiple manufacturers. Therefore, this paper designs and develops a visualization program that can verify real-time information of facilities using data collection system based on international standard protocol for heterogeneous collection and monitoring of facility data. This allows a factory to consolidate equipment data from multiple manufacturers and to view them in real-time.

Development of Smart Garden Control System Using Probabilistic Filter Algorithm Based on SLAM (SLAM기반 확률적 필터 알고리즘을 이용한 스마트 식물 제어 시스템 개발)

  • This paper designs and implements a smart garden system using probabilistic filter algorithm using SLAM that can be used in apartment or veranda. To do this, we used Arduino and environtal sensors, which are open hardware controllers, and designed to control and observe automatic water supply, lighting, and growth monitoring with three wireless systems (Bluetooth, Ethernet, WiFi). This system has been developed to make it possible to use it in an indoor space such as an apartment, rather than a large-scale cultivation system such as a conventional plant factory which has already been widely used. The developed system collects environmental data by using soil sensor, illuminance sensor, humidity sensor and temperature sensor as well as control through smartphone app, analyzes the collected data, and controls water pump, LED lamp, air ventilation fan and so on. As a wireless remote control method, we implemented Bluetooth, Ethernet and WiFi. Finally, it is designed for users to enable remote control and monitoring when the user is not in the house.

  • IT convergence technology is gradually becoming anthropocentric and evolving based on the low-carbon green growth. Augmented reality technique is a contents convergence technology that can mix virtual objects while maintaining a sense of the real world. For that reason, interaction between user and system is possible, can make various applications, and has a high possibility for expandability. To expand the scope of existing interaction, this paper suggests contextual UX-based augmented reality system. It is a system which creates virtual objects that respond to the changes in the real world environment, and users can directly apply their personal preferences to virtual objects. Also, several virtual objects can be registered all at once, and even shows animations corresponding to either day and night according to the brightness of illumination. As said, it improves user's satisfaction through a system of mixed usability, and leads to a continuous use of augmented reality contents.

  • In order to implement a smart factory for manufacturing innovation, more digital twins will be developed and applied gradually. In particular, simulation and optimization of digital twins makes it possible to support critical decision-making like a predictive maintenance of the equipment for manufacturing. In terms of a user perspective, this study suggests the conceptual framework of Digital Twin Management System (DTMS) for supporting the analytical and managerial activities for Digital Twins. We integrate the methods and structure of the area like Manufacturing Engineering, Decision Support Systems, and Optimization for developing the DTMS. The framework suggested in this study shows a typical DSS which consists of dialog management system, model management system and data management system. It also includes Analytical Digital Twins and simulations & optimization module. The framework is being applied in one of the most competitive and complex industrial sector. Also this study is meaningful to suggest a new direction of research.

A Green LED Sensitivity Lighting System Using Smart Phone (스마트폰을 이용한 그린 LED 감성조명 시스템)

  • This paper introduces a novel concept of 'A Green LED Sensitivity Lighting System' which can automatically estimate QoS(quality of service) and emotional requirements of user using smart phone. And it can intelligently control ambient illumination lamp to conserve electric energy and to satisfy human sensitivity. The proposed system has 4 control modes; emotional lighting, smart lighting, green lighting and realistic lighting modes in order to comfort man's emotion, to maximize work efficiency, to save energy consumption and to make the entertainment more fun, respectively. When we choose green lighting mode for indoor office situations, an elaborate simulation shows that the proposed system with home network can reduce the energy by 50% compared to conventional light control system with a fixed time-based switching.

Analysis of the Heating and Cooling Energy Load for Facade Variation in Plant Factory (식물공장의 건물 형태에 따른 냉난방부하 분석)

  • 식물공장의 다양한 건물형태에 따른 냉난방부하의 차이를 DesignBuilder를 이용하여 해석하였다. 엽채류 중 상추의 생육 적정온도인 $20^{\circ}C$를 실내온도로 설정하고 식물공장 외벽에 단일창호를 적용하여 온실형태에 따른 냉난방부하 변화를 계산하였다. 보광이 없는 건물자체의 냉난방부하를 계산한 결과 KNU 식물공장 단위유닛과 반원 온실형 식물공장이 냉방부하가 가장 적었다. 보광 적용 후에는 전반적으로 KNU 식물공장 단위유닛과 직사각형 식물공장이 양호한 냉난방 성능을 보여주었다. KNU 식물공장 창호의 면적이 와이드 스팬형보다 크기 때문에 건설비용의 증가가 예상되지만 회전형 스마트 조명 제어시스템을 적용하게 되면 재배면적을 넓히고 공간활용에 유리하다. 또한 LED 사용량을 줄일 수 있어 냉방부하와 보광에 드는 비용을 절감할 수 있다.
