Development of Smart Remote Terminal Unit for Water Treatment SCADA System (상하수도 원격감시제어 시스템 구현을 위한 스마트 RTU의 개발 및 적용)

  • In this paper, a new remote terminal unit(hereafter RTU) is proposed to manage a wide range of applications and a variety of sensors (eg, pressure, water quality, temperature and humidity sensors, the amount of pollutants, $CO_2$, etc.) to monitor and control the facility such as water treatment plant, intake and effluent pumping station, water tank and distribution network. Fault status of local sensor devices and network are alerted by using the embedded fault handling capabilities of the RTU in the system and also sent to the fault handling server, by which fault can be easily monitored to users. The developed system was applied to one of K-water branch offices in Geoje city and improved its reliability and stability for controlling and monitoring water facility.

Lighting Environment Design Research for Well-Being of Elderly People (고령자의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 조명환경 디자인 연구)

  • It is necessary to conduct a basic research on fusion of ighting design or lighting environment to improve the health and quality of life of elderly people. The purpose of this study is to analyze the lighting situation of elderly people 's residential facilities in terms of space environment design plan and to analyze the trends in smart home, design and technology. It is to provide basic data for the prototype of lighting fixtures for elderly people living facilities considering functional, physiological and emotional characteristics. For the study, the target sites were selected and the results of the illumination survey of the target facilities were divided into two types of spaces, residential and other public spaces, and their location, lighting fixtures' type, color temperature, illuminance. The results of the survey showed that the overall physical illumination compared to the recommended illuminance for the elderly satisfied the recommended range and provided the appropriate brightness for the elderly. However, in the application layout of the lighting fixtures, a monotonous arrangement and a lighting fixtures type consisting entirely of simple square type fixtures and downlight types were applied. It would be desirable to use different types of lighting fixtures in the design for various functions, such as making the environment more comfortable. Future research will propose a prototype for the design direction of the subdivided lighting fixtures that classify the space according to functions and understand the vision problem of the elderly while aesthetically.

  • Smart Grid has two main objectives on both supply and demand aspects which are to distribute the renewable energy sources on supply side and to develop realtime price responses on demand side. Renewable energy does not consume fossil fuels, therefore it improves the eco-friendliness and saves the cost of power system operation at the same time. Demand response increases the flexibility of the power system by mitigating the fluctuation from renewable energies, and reduces the capacity investment cost by shedding the peak load to off-peak periods. Currently Smart Grid technologies mainly focus on energy monitoring and display services but it has been proved that enabling technologies can induce the higher demand responses through many pilot projects in USA. On this context, this paper provides a price responsive algorithm for HEMS (home energy management system) on the real time pricing environment. This paper identifies the demand response as a core function of HEMS and classifies the demand into 3 categories of fixed, transferable, and realtime responsive loads which are coordinated and operated for the utility maximization or cost minimization with the optimal usage combination of three kinds of demand.

  • One of critical issues in the housing area is what strategies should be adopted for revitalizing contemporary communities in housing complex. It is expected that those strategies could encourage neighbourship and recover the existing community spaces. Based on the assumption that contemporary communities might have different characteristics from those of the traditional communities and spaces, this research aims to explore the possibility of new communities in a current context. With the development of the information communication technologies (ICT) and hardware systems, the environment would be capable of anticipating people's needs and then provide them with customization options to tailor the environment to their requirements. By incorporating the 'smart' paradigm, this paper introduces the concept of a smart community and space with the potential of mobile Augmented Reality(AR) as alternative strategies for activating the communities. The residents believe that existing common spaces need to be extendable and augmented by combining new technologies. The smart communities and spaces are expected to extend people's interaction to virtual world in aj real context, further combined with social network, it enables sustainable relationships among residents, contributina to a new type of community.

Eye Detection Method Using Geometrical Features Between Eyebrows and Eyes in Smart Phone (스마트 폰에서 눈썹과 눈 간의 기하학적 특성을 이용한 눈 검출 방법)

  • 본 논문은 안드로이드 스마트 폰 환경에서 정중앙 블록과 주변 블록들 간의 블록 대비도를 이용해 눈썹을 검출한 후, 눈썹과 눈 간의 기하학적 특성을 이용해 눈의 위치를 찾는 눈 검출 방법에 관한 것이다. 제안된 방법은 Haar-like 특징과 AdaBoost 알고리즘 그리고 적응형 템플릿 정합을 이용해 입력 영상에서 얼굴 영역을 검출한 후, 이를 이용해 좌측 및 우측 눈썹과 눈 탐색 영역을 산정한다. 눈썹 영역의 Integral Image에서 눈썹에 해당하는 부분이 주변 블록들에 비해 상대적으로 어둡다는 특성을 이용해 눈썹을 추출한다. 이와 동시에 각 눈 탐색 영역의 Integral Image에서 동공 블록이 나머지 주변 블록들에 비해 상대적으로 어둡고 대칭성이 양호하다는 특성을 이용해 눈 후보 영역들을 추출한 후 최대 블록 대비도를 갖는 블록의 중심화소를 동공 후보점으로 삼는다. 이후 눈의 위치는 항상 눈썹 하단에 위치하며 그 떨어진 정도가 사람마다 크게 다르지 않다는 기하학적 특성을 이용해 눈 후보 영역에서 나온 동공 후보 점들을 검증한다. 제안된 방법은 거리 및 조명 변화 그리고 안경 착용에 강인한 것이 장점이다. 눈썹을 먼저 찾은 후 기하학적 특성을 이용해 좌우 동공 후보점 쌍의 적합성을 검증함으로써 안경과 눈을 효과적으로 구분할 수 있고 눈이 감겨 동공이 가려진 상태에도 감긴 눈의 위치를 검출할 수 있다.

  • In this study, we designed the system that helps drivers check all information about parking space at the entrance and find out whether the places is available or not, because the system has 'Image recognition function' which can even recognize car number plates exactly. Besides, we place the webcam close to the car number plate, so that car number can be identified more quickly. Finally, since we set the webcam high, the system keeps us from parking wrong places by displaying on the screen.

  • 본 프로젝트에서는 IoT를 활용한 스마트한 풋살 대관 예약 시스템이다. 최근 건강 및 취미에 관심이 많아지면서 하나의 국면으로 풋살에 대한 관심이 많아지고 있다. 이러한 관심은 관련 블로그 등과 같은 그룹 활동으로 많은 정보를 공유하고 있다. 하지만 풋살장 예약, 팀매칭, 용병에 구하기 등과 풋살장 관리에도 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 본 프로젝트는 웹과 앱을 활용한 커뮤니티 제공, 풋살장 관리, 팀매칭, 용병 등을 실시간으로 공유하고 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 팀매칭 및 용병은 실시간으로 상대팀과 채팅 통해 조율할 수 있고 용병게시판을 이용하여 용병을 구할 수 있다. 앱에서는 상대팀이 예약시간의 지각, 불참석을 하면 도착알림을 오게 해주고 풋살장에 도착하여 구장문을 열거나 닫고, 구장 조명을 키거나 끄거나, 구장 실시간 영상, 구장 실시간 이용현황 등을 볼 수 있는 기능들을 제공하며, IoT를 활용한 스마트하게 풋살장 관리 및 운영, 활용할 수 있는 시스템이다.

  • Today, the great revolution in all financial industrial such as bank have been progressing through the utilization of IT technology actively, it is called the fintech. In this paper, we draw the draft design of NFC-based electronic payment and coupon system using FIDO framework to apply the 2 factor authentication technique for strength security. In detailed, we will study that the terminal device in front-end will be applied the 2 factor authentication and electric signature, and cloud-based payment gateway in back-end will be applied malicious code detection technique of distributed avoidance type.

  • A smart factory is a key industrial application introduced by the 4th industrial revolution. The automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is one of the technology realizing smart factory, but the development cost is high due to its early stage of technology. Although developing a low-cost AGV requires a lot of data, it has limited data acquisition capability because of the limited storage and the AGV movement. Hence, we propose a development environment using Bluetooth to collect data and design a lane detector. The proposed lane detector shows a high lane detection ratio regardless of light variation and a shade.

  • 일반적으로 가정 내에서 발생하는 안전 사고의 비율은 비장애인에 비해 청각장애인이 높다. 이는 외부인에게 도움을 받을 수 없는 상황에서 청각장애인 스스로 위험상황에 대한 소리를 인지하지 못하기 때문이다[1]. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 시각적 효과 또는 진동 신호를 통해 청각장애인들에게 사고 상황 인지를 돕는 시스템을 제안한다. 현재 상용 제품의 경우는 청각장애인이 스마트기기를 소지하고 있을 때만 알림을 인지할 수 있기 때문에 긴급 상황에서 효과가 떨어질 수 있다. 따라서 제안 시스템에서는 어플리케이션 알림과 함께 건물내 전등 색상에 변화를 주는 서비스를 개발하여 스마트 기기를 소지하지 않는 상황에서도 위험상황에 대한 즉각적인 인지를 통해 위험에 대처할 수 있도록 한다. 소리를 시각화하는 것이 본 연구의 핵심 방법론이며 이를 위해 Convolutional Neural Network 모델과 라즈베리파이를 활용하였다.
