A Study about effective handling method of service in M2M Communications (M2M 통신에서 서비스의 효과적인 처리 방안에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, the national carrier of the next-generation growth engine of M2M (machine to Machine) is attracting attention. Therefore, its uses and utilization of the various disciplines is getting wider, and the increasing number of terminals to be used compared to the existing communication of the information that is sent in every object may have increased. Each data transfer from the bulk terminal to a mobile network, if the traffic situation reaches this limit does not facilitate the processing of M2M communication services, this situation can occur. This study measures the mobile networks will be used in M2M communications when it reaches the breaking point for the smooth processing of M2M services are presented. Things grows increasingly smaller the further development of M2M technology, the explosion in mobile communication network, the data traffic will reach the limitations of these methods will be used in determining the ranking of the M2M communication services should be treated as a priority, to beM2M services to mobile networks will help to facilitate.

  • Autonomous data rate control scheme of current IxEV-DO uplink networks can not supper the various QoS requirements of heterogeneous traffics nor hold rise-over-thermal OtoT) constraints. In this paper, an uplink resource management scheme called the modified weighted g-fair (MWGF) scheduler with RoT filling is proposed and evaluated for heterogeneous traffics in cdma2000 type uplink networks. The proposed scheme belongs to a family of centralized resource management schemes and offers QoS guarantee by using priority metrics as well as lower system loading by holding RoT constraints using RoT filling method. With some case-study simulations, the proposed algorithms shows lower average delays of real time users compared to that of autonomous rate control by 29 - 40 %. It also shows the 1.0 - 1.3 dB lower received RoT level than autonomous rate control schemes, leading to lower network loading.

  • Our previous research[1] suggested object extraction and modeling method based on Fillmore's case grammar. This approach had not considered of use case extraction and method. To solve this problem, we adopt Fillmore's semantic method as linguistic approach into requirement engineering, which refine fillmore's case grammar for extracting and modeling use cases from customer requirements. This Refined mechanism includes the definition of a structured procedure and the representation of visual notations for 'case' modeling. This paper also proposes the use case decision matrix to identify use case size from extracted use cases based on goal oriented requirement engineering(GoRE), which related with the complexity of use case, and also prioritizes the use cases with this matrix. It demonstrates our proposal with the bank ATM system.

Strategies for Improving Scholarly Information Service with Citation Information (인용정보를 활용한 학술정보서비스 고도화 전략)

  • We examine several citation information services to analyze their functional items and resources as interests and concerns on citation information services have been increasing. Based on our analysis, we suggest a blueprint and model for national citation information services. As a result, We find that there are different service items and resources among the type of the citation information services. We also suggest three principles and personal services scenarios for developing national scholarly information service using citation information. And expert survey shows the priority of the services. This study would be a fundamental material for drawing big pictures on national citation information services.

Occurrence of Tiller and Its Effects on Grain Yield of Barley under Different Plant Densities. (대맥의 파종밀도가 분얼발생 및 각얼자의 특성과 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the occurrence of tiller and its proportion to grain yield under 5 different plant densities. Plant density 5 x 5cm was more favorable for increasing the number of spikes per unit area, where leads to improve grain yield. Effective tillers showed only main stem, M$_1$-axil and M$_2$-axil, indication more effective tillers in M$_1$ rather than main stem. Every tillers held at least 6 leaves to bear spikes, indicating that main stem has 12 -13 leaves. Leaves attached on main stem M$\sub$0/ and M$_1$ were very important as main source of photosynthesis, especially under more compart plant densities while leaves of M$_1$ occupied 66.8% in a plant. The proportion of grain yield of each tiller to total grain yield per plant was high in main stem under conpact plant density, in M$_1$ stems under less compact plant density, and in M$_2$ -stems under wide plant density, indicating same result on multiple regression analysis.

  • National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) provides underpinning to boost international and domestic competitiveness in basic science and engineering (S&E) research. In 2012, NRF came up with the idea about implementing koreanized grant funding system and a NRF grant funding mechanism on basic research was applied to General Researcher program. The main components of the mechanism are 1) no final evaluation, instead intensive evaluation for next proposal submission, 2) no paper account report, instead reporting it online, 3) no lengthy final report, instead unloading a brief overview of research achievements. For successful establishment of the NRF grant funding mechanism, the quality and quantity-based quantitative guidelines of research achievement for various research areas are essential. In this study, we suggest 3 quantitative indexes and these quantitative guidelines provides a supplementary tool for researcher's capability review. These guidelines will be also useful to elevate the reliability and objectivity of peer review.

Photosterilization effects of microbial cells by titanium oxide catalyzer ($TiO_2$ 촉매를 이용한 광살균 효과)

  • In order to examine the effect of $TiO_2$ on photosterilization of microorganism. Proper content of $TiO_2$, illumination time, wave length specificity and cell concentration were investigated for photosterilization of E. coli, B. subtilis and S. cerevisiae. The amount of $TiO_2$ for photosterilization of E. coli was effective in the range of $5{\sim}20\;mg%$. The sterilization time was reduced when the low wave length below 400 nth was not cut off by glass, but the catarizing effect of $TiO_2$ was similar to overall wave length. The photosterilization effects by $TiO_2$ addition was recognized among S. cerevisiae, E. coli and B. subtilis in that order. The photosterilization time of S. cerevisiae was considerably reduced at $10^4/ml$ cell concentration compared to $10^5/ml$.

Exploring Key Strategy Areas for Academic Library Development Planning in Korea (국내 대학도서관 진흥을 위한 주요 정책과제 개발 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to explore key strategy areas for academic library development planning in Korea. This study started with components of an academic library development plan that were identified in a literature review; those components included among others the major roles, functions, resources, and teaching and research support services of academic libraries. Upon interviewing library staff from 14 academic libraries, this study initially categorized those components into 4 overarching strategy areas and further subdivided them into 12 key components and 24 sub-components. That initial categorization was then reviewed by 6 scholars and practitioners, applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), by which this study analyzed the level of importance and priority of the strategy areas and various components. Based on the results, this study ultimately outlines 11 key components and 23 sub-components under the 4 strategy areas for academic libraries in Korea to take into consideration in their development planning.

Linguistic Analysis of Human Sensibility in Various Pictorial Images (사진 이미지의 감성에 대한 언어적 분석)

  • Pictorial Images are often used when persuading someone, since people believe that photographs tell us what happened in reality. This paper aims to strengthen the role of pictorial images as a powerful method of persuasion through interpolating sensibility, which is a key factor in decision making, into the pictorial images. This paper analyses the structure of sensibility in pictorial images, in order to draw out specific factors that arouse positive impression. Furthermore, intensional meanings were given to various factors that compose the sensibility of pictorial images, and the factors are prioritized to enhance applicability. Recognitions of the sensibility in pictorial images differ due to diverse variables, but the photographed subjects themselves and the specific attributes of picture quality are the primary factors that influence the recognition. In order to achieve general and detailed results, broadly selected shooting subjects and images that have various picture quality attributes.

An IS-41 Based dynamic Location Management using the Mobility History of Mobile Station (이동국의 이동이력을 이용한 IS-41 기반 동적위치관리)

  • In the mobile communication systems such as PCS(Personal Communication Service), several strategies have been proposed to optimize the signalling traffic load by using the characteristics of traffic and mobile patterns for effective mobility management. According to IS-41 standard, LA(Location Area) consists of static and arbitrarily-defined set of cells, which do not take into account mobility patterns of mobile stations. In this paper, we propose an improved location management mechanism which contains the neighbor cells of the LA selectively using the mobility history of a mobile station and accommodates the LA size adaptively according to the speed of the mobile station. Also, we use the paging priorities for cells in LA to improve the paging efficiency. We compare the performance of conventional mechanism with that of the proposed mechanism using numerical analysis. The analysis results show that the proposed location management mechanism is better than conventional mechanism significantly.
