Analysis on the Validity of 'Point of Knowing' in Elementary Mathematics Textbook (초등학교 수학 교과서에 나타나는 앎의 시점의 타당성 분석)

  • The purpose of the study is to identify the point of knowing. The point of knowing is the time, which indicates that 'knowing' occurs in the recognition process. To understand recognition process, the researchers analyzed the questions in units of lessons presented in elementary mathematics textbooks. The researchers analyzed the validity of the point of knowing and found out the basis of the point of knowing. The results are as follows. First, the point of knowing is time to expect to change from a leaner's 'not-knowing' to 'knowing'. Second, the point of knowing can be identified with the questions on textbooks to ask students to do practical action. Third, the point of knowing is closely related to instructional objective in a class. Fourth, in relation to subsidiary awareness and focal awareness, the point of knowing corresponds to focal awareness. Fifth, the point of knowing is equivalent to the inflection point at which personalization/contextualization is changed into depersonalization/decontextualization.

A Study on the Instructional Sequence of Addition and Subtraction in the Elementary School Mathematics Textbook (초등학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 자연수 덧셈과 뺄셈의 초기 지도 순서에 관한 소고)

  • In the elementary school mathematics textbook that has been revised in 2013, the instructional sequence for teaching addition and subtraction, which had remained unchanged for three decades since 1982, was finally changed in 2013. Particularly, the addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers without regrouping, such as 72+25=97 or 85-24=61, are taught earlier than the composing and decomposing of the number 10 using other numbers. This study examines the appropriacy and validity of these changes. However, the reason for these changes in the national curriculum or teacher's guide could not be determined. Further, several references emphasize the addition of two single-digit numbers, such as 7+8=15, and the subtraction of a single-digit number from a number between 11 and 19, such as 16-9=7, as basic facts. In other countries' textbooks, the teaching of addition and subtraction up to the number 20 is prioritized before teaching the addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers without regrouping. The results of this study indicate that these changes in the instructional sequence in the textbook that was revised in 2013 need to be reconsidered.

A study on analyzing the improvement of the students' estimation capabilities of length measurement in measurement instruction with various uses of estimation strategy (초등학생들의 다양한 어림 전략을 통한 길이 어림 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is the reorganization of the curriculum on the measurement, a part of the second grade math curriculum, for the improvement of the estimation capability in the elementary school students. Research questions were as follows: (1) how are the estimation capabilities of the students who have taken lessons on the diversified estimation strategies? and (2) how are the mathematical writing capabilities of the students who have taken lessons on the diversified estimation strategies? The study using reconstructed lessons was conducted on 18 second grade students in an elementary school located in Seoul. Results show that the students' estimation capabilities and have improved. They started to use 'about' when writing estimation results, different from writing the accurate measurements. Measurement errors were gradually reduced, ending up with a student who could accurately estimate exactly 1m. In addition, their estimation capabilities in using appropriate estimation strategy and writing skills describing the estimation strategy have improved.

국내 금융권 클라우드 전환 동향 및 보안

  • 최근 클라우드 규제의 변화에 따라 국내 금융권의 클라우드 전환이 확산되면서 주요 인프라로서 클라우드 활용에 관한 연구·개발이 관심을 받고 있다. 2016년도 10월 이전에는 금융회사의 모든 전산시스템에 대하여 물리적 망분리를 적용하여야 하는 등의 과도한 규제로 퍼블릭 클라우드 활용에 어려움이 있었다. 이후 전자금융감독규정이 점차 완화되면서 클라우드 이용이 활성화되고 현재에 이르게 되었다. 안전한 클라우드 이용을 위해서는 금융분야 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스 이용 가이드에서 제시하는 업무 연속성 계획 및 출구 전략을 수립하고, 안전성 확보 조치 방안을 마련하며, 클라우드 서비스 제공자의 안전성 평가, 자체 정보보호위원회 심의·의결 및 감독 당국의 보고 등의 내부통제를 준수하여야 한다. 본 고에서는 금융분야의 클라우드 전환 사례 조사를 토대로 전환 동향과 전환 요인, 업권별 특징 및 규제 변화에 대해 살펴보고, 향후 클라우드 이용 환경 변화를 전망해본다.

Two Middle School Students' Proportional Reasoning Emerging through the Process of Expressing and Interpreting the Function Graphs (그래프 표현과 해석에서 드러나는 두 중학생의 비례 추론 능력에 대한 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the proportional reasoning of middle school students during the process of expressing and interpreting the graphs. We collected data from a teaching experiment with four 7th grade students who participated in 23 teaching episodes. For this study, the differences between student A and student B-who joined theteaching experiment from the $1^{st}$ teaching episode through the $8^{th}$ -in understanding graphs are compared and the reason for their differences are discussed. The results showed different proportional solving strategies between the two students, which revealed in the course of adjusting values of two given variables to seek new values; student B, due to a limited ability for proportional reasoning, had difficulty in constructing graphs for given situations and interpreting given graphs.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in the meanings of two $7^{th}$ grade students over 'a' in expressing and interpreting a function of the form of 'y=ax+b(a, b is a constant, $a{\neq}0$)', and to identify causes of the differences. We collected data from a teaching experiment with four $7^{th}$ grade students who participated in 23 teaching episodes. Analysis of the collected data revealed marked differences between student A and student B in expressing and interpreting given situations with linear functions. The differences between the two students and the causes of differences were also analyzed. The results show that the students expressed and interpreted 'a' in the linear function 'y=ax+b', on the basis of their construction of quantities and their quantitative relationships in a given situation involving a constant rate of change.

  • This research has been studied in terms of investigating the reaction behavior of pyrite with a cyclone reactor. The Mathematical model has developed pyrite oxidation and lime sulfation in this reactor. The model assumes a chemical control shrinking core behavior for the pyrite and a fluid film control shrinking core behavior for the lime. The model was solved and characterized numerically. Experiments have been performed to study the influence of reaction parameters such as reactor temperatures, pyrite particle sizes, air flow rates, feeding rates, and mixing ratio of pyrite and lime. The oxidation and sulfation products were characterized chemically and physically.

  • 플라이 휠 에너지 저장장치(Flywheel Energy Storage System: FESS)는 전기 에너지를 회전 운동 에너지로 저장하였다가 필요시 회전 운동에너지를 전기 에너지로 변환하여 재사용 가능한 에너지 저장장치 이다. 최근 전력 변환 기술의 발전으로 인하여 플라이휠 에너지 저장 장치의 에너지 입출력 속도가 빨라지고 대용량의 에너지를 저장할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 플라이휠 에너지 저장 장치의 전력 입출력 특성을 이용하여 전력 시스템에서 발생하는 저주파 진동(Low frequency oscillation)을 억제하는 방안을 제시 하여 안정도를 향상 시키고자 하였다. 전력 시스템은 발전조건, 전송조건, 부하조건에 따라 동작 조건이 지속적으로 변하고 있다. 이러한 동작 환경 변화는 전력 시스템에 대한 수학적인 표현과 실제 전력계통간의 차이가 발생하기 때문에 정확한 제어 목적을 달성하기가 힘들다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 제어기 설계 단계에서 전력 계통의 불확실성을 고려할 수 있는 $H_{\infty}$ 제어 기법을 이용하여 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치를 위한 강인 제어기를 설계 하였다. 제안한 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치의 강인 제어기의 유용성을 입증하기 위하여 1기 무한대 모선에 적용한 결과를 비선형 시뮬레이션을 통하여 다양한 외란이 발생한 경우에 외란 억제 성능과 강인성에 대하여 고찰 하였으며, 제안한 방식이 기존의 전력계통 안정화 장치(Power system stabilizer: PSS) 보다 효율적이며 전력계통의 안정도 향상에 크게 기여함을 보이고자 하였다.

Target Tracking Using Image Features in a Cluttered Environment (클러터환경에서 영상특징을 이용한 표적 추적)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel tracking method which uses image features consisted of the area, average intensity, aspect ratio of a target image for the real-time IR surveillance system. The image features of the ground target can be modeled as a random process with exponential autocorrelation function mathematically. Finally, we derived a discrete target dynamic equation including kinematic states and geometric states of the target. Simulation results shows that the performance of the proposed method is better than that of the previous tracking method.

  • The flow configurations at open channel junctions are analyzed by 2-D depth averaged mathematical model. The governing factors of the flow at the junction are found to be discharge ratio between tributary flow and the post confluence combined flow, and confluence angle. Analyzed by these two factors are flow patterns and flow depth variation at the confluence, discharge ratio above which the flow upstresm from the junction is affected by the tributary flow and the geometries of a recirculation region. Further, the flow contraction in the downstream region and the deflection of the tributary flow in the main channel were investigated. The numerical results are compared with the existing experimental data fairly well.
