  • The purpose of the research was to develop an analysis framework for Korean mathematics textbooks from a critical mathematics education perspective. For this, we conducted a comprehensive literature review regarding critical theory, critical education, and critical mathematics education. Based on the literature review, we derived a preliminary framework for textbook analysis. To validate the preliminary framework delphi survey was carried out twice with 21 expert panelists in the field of mathematics education and multicultural education. The first delphi survey was conducted with open-ended questions to investigate diverse opinions regarding educational goals, contents, and teaching methods of critical mathematics education. The second delphi survey was conducted with Likert-type scale and it was analyzed using Mean, Contents Validity Ratio, Degree of Consensus. As the result of the whole research procedures, the final analysis framework was developed consisting of four categories: classical knowledge, community knowledge, communicative knowledge, and political knowledge. A development of the analysis framework from a critical mathematics education perspective could give a significant impact on the mathematics curriculum or mathematic teacher education in the Korea and a meaningful initial step for the effort of practicing critical mathematics education. It is expected that this study could not only incite consideration for the better mathematics education but also expand the prospect of research and practice in mathematics education. This study would provide a new paradigm of future mathematics education with which to teach and guide students to become members of world civil society with mathematical power and critical competency.

그한 예로 타원을 가르치기 위해 몇 가지 테크놀로지를 활용한 시각화 환경을 구성해보았다.ates of bisected bovine embryos by micromanipulator and micropipett were 29.2% and 19.1%, respectively. • The rapid advancement of generative AI has ushered in an era where anyone can create and freely utilize personalized chatbots without the need for programming expertise. This study aimed to develop a customized chatbot based on OpenAI's GPTs for the purpose of pre-service teacher education and to analyze its educational performance in mathematics as assessed by educators guiding pre-service teachers. Responses to identical questions from a general-purpose chatbot (ChatGPT), a customized GPTs-based chatbot, and an elementary mathematics education expert were compared. The expert's responses received an average score of 4.52, while the customized GPTs-based chatbot received an average score of 3.73, indicating that the latter's performance did not reach the expert level. However, the customized GPTs-based chatbot's score, which was close to "adequate" on a 5-point scale, suggests its potential educational utility. On the other hand, the general-purpose chatbot, ChatGPT, received a lower average score of 2.86, with feedback indicating that its responses were not systematic and remained at a general level, making it less suitable for use in mathematics education. Despite the proven educational effectiveness of conventional customized chatbots, the time and cost associated with their development have been significant barriers. However, with the advent of GPTs services, anyone can now easily create chatbots tailored to both educators and learners, with responses that achieve a certain level of mathematics educational validity, thereby offering effective utilization across various aspects of mathematics education.

  • A survey about uses of internet was conducted for elementary, middle and high school mathematics teachers in Seoul to determine the accessibility, level of usage, expertise, and general attitudes towards using internet for educational purposes. The survey indicated that only half of the teachers had computers in the classroom and less than 10% of the teachers had access to the internet in the classroom. The survey suggests that in order to quickly incorporate internet into mathematics education, teachers need help in getting the hardware, training for technology application, and Korean based resources on the internet. The survey also suggests that the teachers need to recognize the power of the internet usage and to do research to find a better way to integrate technology into their teaching.

  • This study attempts to discuss holistic information in order to identify the characteristics of interactions using a graphing calculator. The use of a graphing calculator was divided into three stages: Visual, Analytical, and Self-regulated. The last stage can be called the Self-regulated instrument stage, because this last stage, the use of the calculator, is generally characterized as students actively controlling their ongoing efforts through self-regulating. The accomplishments of the operation can be divided into three levels: Immature, Maturing, and finally, Mature level. First, the characteristics of the Leading Statements were investigated to figure out who has the main role in cooperative learning. This study can support the previous study, which showed that computers could help improve the self-esteem of low-level students. Second, the point of transformation is referred to as the Turning Point. Several functions were observed in the Turning Point: student, instrument, and teacher. Third, when the students convert-sations reach a lull in class and then resume due to certain primary factors without the teachers intervention, this is a case of what is referred to as Structuralization. And last, in this study, the graphing calculator can be used as an auxiliary stimulus to help students control their stress and their attitudes, which in turn can also improve students social interaction.
