  • 최근 지구온난화에 따른 기후변화 현상에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있고 기후변화 현상을 Open Virtual Globes상에서 시각화하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 기후관련 데이터는 지상관측데이터, 위성 데이터, 수치모델데이터 등이다. 각 데이터를 시각화하는 소프트웨어를 분석하고 Virtual Golbes상에서 효과적으로 시각화 하기위한 기법을 설계하였다. 기후변화의 과학적 시각화를 통해 지구온난화에 대한 경각심을 높이는데 목적이 있다.

  • The purpose of this study is visualizing climate change contents from Weather Research and Forecasting model and providing useful tool to anyone who want to use them for communication and actual movement. As a results, we have built a process and user interface for publishing Arrow KML, BWS KML, and DI KML. Arrow KML provide wind rose service and wind attribute information for each arrow. BWS KML provide a wind power index and DI KML provide a thermal comfort. All KML contents are more reliable because those are visualized from the scientifically verified climate change prediction model. Further study will focus on searching for climate change contents mining and useful contents design for wide range of climate change mitigation/adaptation activity.

양자화학 입문 과정 교육을 위한 강의 모델의 연구: 시각화와 차별화

  • 양자화학 (quantum chemistry)을 처음 접했을 때, 이전까지의 고전역학 (classical mechanics)에 익숙한 대다수의 학생들은 양자화학을 받아들이는 데 어려움을 겪는다. 모형계에 양자역학 (quantum mechanics)을 직접 적용하여 봄으로써 생소한 양자 개념에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 양자동역학 (quantum dynamics)을 수치적으로 구현하는 계산 프로그램을 모형계에 적용하여 양자 개념을 설명할 수 있는 몇 가지 예를 보이고자 한다. 1 차원 시간의존 슈뢰딩거 방정식 (1-D time-dependent $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation)의 해를 얻어 양자동역학을 구현하였으며, 그에 해당하는 고전동역학은 뉴턴 방정식 (Newton's equation)의 해로 얻어졌다. 조화 진동자 퍼텐셜 (harmonic oscillator potential), 모스 진동자 퍼텐셜 (Morse oscillator potential), 이중 우물 퍼텐셜 (double-well potential), 네모 퍼텐셜 장벽 (rectangular potential barrier), 그리고 에카트 퍼텐셜 (Eckart potential)에 대한 계산을 수행하였다. 두 가지 동역학을 비교하기 위하여 계산 결과의 시각화 (visualization)를 이용하고 동역학 특성의 차이를 비교하는 차별화 (differentiation)를 강조한다. 영점에너지 (zero-point energy), 위상어긋남 (dephasing), 터널링 (tunneling), 그리고 반사 (reflection) 현상과 같은 양자동역학의 특징을 고전동역학과 비교함으로써 직관적인 이해를 도울 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 양자화학에 입문하는 학생들을 대상으로 쓰일 수 있는 효율적인 강의 모델을 제시할 것으로 기대한다.

A case study on differentiated curriculum for the university calculus and the curriculum development using a numerical software (대학 미적분학 수준별 교육 사례와 수치연산 소프트웨어를 활용한 교육과정 개발 연구)

  • College students have a diverse educational background with the recent multiplicity in university admissions standards and procedures. As a result, their mathematical preparation and performance varies widely. Teaching calculus to such a diverse student group is a demanding task. Differentiated curriculum has been conducted for the university calculus course in Yonsei university for the past five years. A case study on the differentiated curriculum in Yonsei university is presented for the curriculum improvement. With its ideal purpose, the differentiated curriculum has created issues and problems in practice. As an alternative to the ideal differentiated curriculum, this study shows that a computer-based approach using a numerical software could give aids to overcoming the difficulty of inadequately prepared students in the learning process while mathematically sophisticated students could keep interested in the course. This study also presents the useful topics in calculus that can be implemented for computer-based calculus education and provides guidelines for the effective usage.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG2(Moving Picture Expert Group 2)비디오 디코더에서 영상데이타를 디코딩하는 기술에 관한 것으로, 종래의 동여상 처리기에서는 허프만 코드화 처리를 하여 정지영상을 부호화한 후 분할기반 부호화 방식의 동영상 처리기법을 사용하였으나 1프레임의 코드화시에도 많은 계산 알고리즘이 필요하고 이미지의 닮음정도를 객관적수치로 표현할 수 없으므로 비슷한 이미지를 중복 코드화 작업 및 전송 작업을 하는 결함이 있었다. 본 눈문에서는 이를 해결하기 위하여 이미지의 닮음정도를 수치화하고 기준값 이하의 영상은 코드화 작업을 하지않고 계산된 영상 변화값에 의해 구현된 영상으로 대체하여 저장 및 전송하도록 하여 시각적으로 전혀 거부감이 없는 동영상을 구현하였다.

  • The existing EMTP(Electromagnetic Transients Program) is writted by FORTRAN-77, has a closed architecture and uses a large number of code lines to satisfy requirements ranging from low level data manipulation to the actual solution mathematics which eventually become diluted and almost impossible to visualize. Thus has a difficulty in the development and maintenenace of its program module. This paper proposes a new design idea suitable (or a re-development of EMTP using the MATLAB and VISUAL-C++, which presents the development of the new EMTP package is operated in the window environment. The package has the GUI(Graphic User Interface) ability, and the MATLAB computation engine for an analysis of a transient state in an electric circuit.

Strain Recovery Analysis of Non-uniform Composite Beam with Arbitrary Cross-section and Material Distribution Using VABS (VABS를 이용한 임의의 단면과 재료 분포를 가진 비균일 복합재료 보의 변형률 복원 해석)

  • This paper presents a theory related to a two-dimensional linear cross-sectional analysis, recovery relationship and a one-dimensional nonlinear beam analysis for composite wing structure with initial twist. Using VABS including a related theory, the design process of the composite rotor blade has been described. Cross-sectional analysis was performed at cutting point including all the details of geometry and material. Stiffness matrix and mass matrix were linked to each section to make 1D beam model. The 3D strain distributions within the structure were recovered based on the global behavior of the 1D beam analysis and visualize numerical results.

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers are intrinsically vulnerable to radio frequency jamming signals due to the fundamental property of radio navigation systems. A GNSS jamming monitoring system that is capable of jamming detection, classification and localization is essential for infrastructure for autonomous driving systems. For these 3 functionalities, a GNSS jamming monitoring network consisting of a multiple of low-cost GNSS receivers distributed in a certain area is needed, and the precise time synchronizaion between multiple independent GNSS receivers in the network is an essential element. This paper presents a precise time synchronization method based on the direct use of Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technique in signal domain. A block interpolation method is additionally incorporated into the method in order to maintain the precision of time synchronization even with the relatively low sampling rate of the received signals for computational efficiency. The feasibility of the proposed approach is verified in the numerical simualtions.
