Surveys were conducted on the occurrence of nematodes in the root systems of 1-3-year old Cymbidium hybida Swartz cultivated for export in Korea. The most frequently detected plant-parasitic nematode was Ditylenchus sp. with 4.7, 43.7, and 49.7/200 cc growth medium in 1, 2, and 3 year-old cymbidiums, respectively. And the densities of non-parasitic nematodes, dorylaimids, were 35.3, 70.5, and 155.8/200 cc growth medium in 1, 2, and 3-year-old cymbidiums, respectively. Three-year-old cymbidiums collected from Siheung, Ansan, and Gimpo had low densities of Aphelenchus sp. and Aphelenchoides sp. with under 40 individuals/pot, and the dorylaimid densities were 56-824/pot. To evaluate the effects of nematicides on Ditylenchus sp. in cymbidium, Emamectin benzoate EC, Fosthiazate SL, and Cadusafos CS were tested at two farms in Ansan and Gimpo. Emamectin benzoate EC showed control effects of 75.7 and 89.5%, whereas Fosthiazate SL and Cadusafos CS showed 27.2 and 65.3% and 30.1 and 90.5% control effects in the tests.

At present, there are few research papers on skin penetration of cosmeceutical ingredients. What is worse is that in vivo studies are hard to find. In this study, we measured skin epidermal penetration of cosmeceutical ingredients using in vivo Raman spectroscopy and compared with the results obtained from experiments using in vitro franz cell. Results showed that ascorbyl-2-glucoside, retinol, retinyl palmitate, and kojic acid were good for penetration ratio in measurement in vitro and retinol, vitamin C, and arbutin were good in measurement in vivo. Among them, retinol was best in skin penetration in vivo experiment using Raman spectroscopy and ascorbyl-2-glucoside was best in skin penetration in vitro experiment using Franz cell system. It is estimated that the differences were originated from the experimental procedures of two different methods; in vivo Raman experiment can be sensitive to the effect of epidermis and dermis as characteristics of matter by estimating the stratum corneum and in vitro measurement is evaluation of material to penetrate skin of hairless mouse. However, most penetration barrier is the stratum corneum, thus it is important to examine movement of material in the stratum corneum. We expect that these results provided useful information for many cosmetic related research.
Fifty eight isolates of R. solani collected from rice plants infected to sheath blight disease at seven different locations through the country were evaluated for their cultural characteristics on media. Degree of resistance of nine rice varieties were tested by the seven isolates representing each culture type from the grouped pathogene-city. Great variation of cultural characterisics on PSA media was observed among isolates, and 58 isolates tested were grouped into 7 culture types. Locational distribution of isolates belong to each culture type was different between types, and only isolate type 'Ia' was distributed in all locations collected. The degree of pathogene-city of each isolate to rice adult plant was different between 7 culture types grouped, and no isolates infected severely on all tester rice varieties. The degree of resistance to the disease showed great variation among 9 tester varieties, and varietal reaction to the disease was varied along with isolates inoculated. An isolate, la, shown strong pathogenecity and distributed through 7 locations was selected for the screening of varietal resistance to rice sheath blight disease.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how nurses who take care of terminal patients perceive fluid therapy and how this therapy is currently being used in hospitals. Methods: This survey included 200 nurses, 87 of whom were working in the oncology units of 3 university hospitals in Seoul, Korea, and 113 were working in 18 hospice centers. The data for this study were collected by means of structured questionnaires and analyzed by using the Statistical Analysis System software. The differences in perception towards fluid therapy between nurses working in oncology units and those working in hospice centers were examined using the $x^2$ test and analysis of covariance. Results: Fluid therapy was perceived more negatively by the nurses from hospice centers than by those from oncology units. Continuous subcutaneous infusion was used in hospice centers, but not in oncology units. In addition, the average amount of fluid infused daily differed significantly between the oncology units and hospice centers. Conclusion: Our results show that there were differences in the perception towards fluid therapy between nurses in different clinical settings. Nurses caring for terminal and palliative care patients should not simply provide or withhold fluid therapy, but rather develop a wider range of views on fluid therapy, focusing on effective alternative interventions.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to compare perceived stress and coping patterns, and their effects on depression between cancer patients and healthy adults. Methods: A descriptive design was used with 278 subjects, consisting of 139 cancer patients and 139 health adults, living in an urban area. All participants completed the following prerequisites; Stress Visual Analog Scale, Ways of Coping Checklist (W.C.C.L), Depression Index (CES-D), and Demography and Disease Data Questionnaire. Results: Perceived stress and depression were significantly higher, while wishful thinking was lower among cancer patients than healthy adults, after adjusting for education and family income which were not homogeneous between the groups. Among cancer patients, 20.2% of depression was mainly due to seeking support (10.7%), perceived stress and education, while 30.7% of depression in healthy adults was due to perceived stress, problem solving, and seeking support. Conclusion: These findings suggest that interventions to manage depression in cancer patients should include strategies to best foster positive coping patterns and reduce perceived stress.

Folksonomies have potential problems caused by synonyms, tagging level, neologisms and so forth when retrieving music by tags. These problems can be tackled by introducing the mood intensity (Arousal and Valence value) of music as its internal tag. That is, if moods of music pieces and their mood tags are all represented internally by numeric values, A (Arousal) value and V (Valence) value, and they are retrieved by these values, then music pieces having similar mood with the mood tag of a query can be retrieved based on the similarity of their AV values though their tags are not exactly matched with the query. As a prerequisite study, in this paper, we propose the mapping table defining the relation between AV values and folksonomy tags. For analysis of the association between AV values and tags, ANOVA tests are performed on the test data collected from the well known music retrieval site last.fm. The results show that the P values for A values and V values are 0.0, which means the null hypotheses could be rejected and the alternative hypotheses could be adopted. Consequently, it is verified that the distribution of AV values depends on folksonomy tags.
Four thousand eight hundred and eighty five isolates of Pyricularia oryzae were obtained from the diseased rice specimens collected from various areas of Korea for race identification during 1978 - 1985. A total of 15 races inculding 6 races pathogenic to Tongil lines, 2 T-races, 5 C-races and 2 N-races was identified using a old Japanese differential set during 1978-1980. Since 1981, number of races identified by a Korean differential set was 18 races which were composed of 11 KI-races pathogenic to either Tongil lines or Japonica cultivars and 8 KJ-races pathogenic to only Japonica cultivars. The prevalent race was $N-2^{+t}$ during 1978-1979 and race KJ-301 since 1980, respectively. Races KI-315a and KI-315b pathogenic to most of Tongil lines were identified in 1983. being widely distributed to date. Races KJ-105 and KJ-201 pathogenic to the cultivars possessing resistance genes Pi-k and Pi-i were prevalent in Gangweon province, whereas race KI-315b was prevalent in Chungbug and Jeonnam districts.

Current wireless sensor networks are considered to support more complex operations ranging from military to health care which require energy-efficient and timely transmission of large amounts of data. In this paper, we propose an adaptive temporal suppression algorithm which exploits a temporal correlation among sensor readings. The proposed scheme can significantly reduce the number of transmitted sensor readings by sensor node, and consequently decrease the energy consumption and delay. Instead of transmitting all sensor readings from sensor node to sink node, the proposed scheme is to selectively transmit some elements of sensor readings using the adaptive temporal suppression, and the sink node is able to reconstruct the original data without deteriorating data quality by linear interpolation. In our proposed scheme, sensing data stream at sensor node is divided into many small sensing windows and the transmission ratio in each window is decided by the window complexity. It is defined as the number of a fluctuation point which has greater absolute gradient than threshold value. We have been able to achieve up about 90% communication reduction while maintaining a minimal distortion ratio 6.5% in 3 samples among 4 ones.

'Yong-A' was bred by Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 2015. It was primarily selected through monospore crossing between JNM21008 and JNM21013 in 2009. The strain is named as JNM-Mi-194 and 'Yong-A', showing major characteristics with good production yield. The cultivation characteristics, yield potential, and fruiting body characteristics of 'Yong-A' are as follows; The wrinkle of the fruiting body was of branching type its shape was wave type. MCM, YM, Malt, and PDA media were suitable for growth of this cultivar. The number of effective stipes was 13 ea/0.9 kg. The minor axis of pileus was 5 cm and the major axis was 9 cm. The yield was 291 g per plastic bag (0.9 kg). Yong-A required 60 days for mycelial running at $20^{\circ}C$. The growth and primordial period required 24 days, which was shorter than that of JNM-Mi-21002 (the conventional cultivar). Somatic incompatibility was observed between parental lines and Yong-A. Analysis of genetic diversity in the new variety 'Yong-A' showed a different profile compared to that of the parent strain when Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA primers were used.
In this paper, we suggested a mobile collaboration framework for supporting mobile services among mobile devices, and designed and implemented on this environment. The suggested framework has three elements; groups of sensors and mobile devices(Fixed and Moving-typed PDAs) and a home server. We designed interfaces for interactions with each other in collaboration environment with three elements described above. The information collected by sensors can be share and exchanged by mobile devices or a home server in accordance with Push and Pull methods. This framework is based on the distributed object group framework(DOGF) we implemented before. Therefore the DOGF provides functions of object group management, storing information and security services to our mobile collaboration framework via application interfaces defined. The information collected by sensors is arranged according to user's security 'demands. And user profile information is used for checking authority of each service object. Each component for executing functions of mobile devices and a home server is implemented by TMO scheme. And we used the TMOSM for interactions between distributed components. Finally, we showed via GUI the executablity of a given healthcare application scenario on our mobile collaboration framework.
