Effect of a Death Preparing Education Program on Death Anxiety and Meaning of Life in Volunteers (죽음준비교육 프로그램이 자원봉사자의 죽음불안과 삶의 의미에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of death preparing education on death anxiety and meaning of life for volunteers. Methods: Data collection and intervention were carried out from January 11 to 25, 2009. The subjects included 60 volunteers in Jeonju city, and they were divided into two groups; 30 each of experimental group and control group. Death preparing education program contained 5 steps. Data were analyzed with t-test, $x^2$-test, and ANCOVA test with SPSS version 12.0. Results: The death anxiety scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than in the control group (F=4.01, P=0.046). The meaning of life scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group (F=6.32, P=0.015). Conclusion: The death preparing education program for volunteers was confirmed to be an effective intervention to lessen death anxiety and to improve the meaning of life. Therefore, I strongly recommend that this program should generously be applied to volunteers.

  • 본 논문에서는 변전소에서 수용가까지의 전력공급설비를 나타내는 도면인 배전설비도면의 주요 기호인 전주와 전선인식 방법에 과하여 기술한다. 제안하는 방법은 원형성에 근거하여 전주후보를 추출한 후 이들 사이의 연결성에 근거하여 전선을 인식한 다음, 전주후보들 중에서 전주를 확인하는 방법으로 다음과 같이 네 개의 단계로 구성된다. 첫 번째는 히스토그램 분석을 통하여 얻어진 임계값을 사용하여 입력영상에서 배전설비영역을 추출하는 단계이고, 두 번째는 추출된 배전설비영역을 세선화 하는 단계이다. 세 번째는 세선영상의 분기점 근처에 정의된 탐색영역에서 원형성을 측정하여 전주후보를 추출하는 단계이다. 네 번째는 전주후보들이 가지는 분기점들 간의 연결성을 측정하여 전선을 인식하는 단계이다. 전선인식이 완료되면 전주후보들 중에서 전선을 가지는 후보들만을 추출하여 전주를 인식한다. 제안된 방법은 한국전력공사의 배전설비도면들 중에서 무작위로 추출한 표본 약 30매를 대상으로 실험하고 그 결과를 제시한다.

A Case Study on The Development of Expressive Language of Children with Autism through Singing Activity Focused on Social Context (사회적 상황 중심의 노래활동을 통한 자폐아동의 언어표현 증진에 관한 사례연구)

  • Autistic children have difficulties in communication. They tend to have more difficulties in general expression than in understanding sentences. This thesis tested the effect of music activities on children who have difficulties in language expression. As a research method, a group of autistic middle school students was selected who were attending normal schools. Three male students were selected for the test of K-ABC and CARS. Music treatments on the selected students were applied fifteen times, twice a week, for thirty minutes every time. The total treatment process could be divided into two stages. The stage one included the first twelve treatments and the stage two included following three treatments. In the stage one, the selected autistic students learned twenty four musics under real-world-like social circumstances. In the stage two, the students repeatedly learned the twenty four musics. A week before beginning the music treatment, the students were tested by PRES and a test developed by the author of this thesis. And a week after all treatments were completed, the students were tested again with the same test method to check if the students' expressive language ability got improved. The results of the research were as the following: First, the music treatment helped improve the autistic student's ability of expressing themselves such as 'requesting', 'rejecting', 'applying social customs' and 'providing information'. Second, the author of this thesis first had a hypothesis that the tested students might show different levels of achievements according to their intellectual ability or expressive language ability in K-ABC test, PRES and CARS. But it was not true. The student's level of achievement by music activities was proved not to have a significant correlation with their intellectual or expressive language abilities in the tests. Third, it was found that, through pre- and post-test of PRES, the music treatments could improve the receptive language ability as well as the expressive language ability. It saw great effect that musical data that utilize in specially this research investigator according to children's ability, autistic children write lyrics setting in social circumstance that is revealed much routinely and composes. To front, expect that suitable a lot of musics are developed in function and ability of subject person for elevation of expressive language ability.

  • Gartner's Hype Cycle model is widely used to describe technology maturity, acceptability, and commercialization. In the Hype Cycle model, the techniques go through five stages, those are Innovation Trigger(first stage), stage Peak of Inflated Expectations(second stage), Trough of Disillusionment(third stage), Slope of Enlightenment(fourth stage) and Plateau of Productivity(fifth stage). In many studies, Hype Cycle is widely used as a basis for future prediction of technology, but the verification is somewhat lacking. In this paper, we analyzed the technologies that appeared in the Hype Cycle for the emerging technologies from 1995 to 2017. Through this, we found technologies that appeared as non first stage when first appearing, and techniques that showed a reversal of the maturity stage. In addition, we found that none of the technologies from 1995 to 2017 had gone through stages 1-5.

A study on the transition of the representations of numbers and mathematical symbols in Joseon mathematics (조선산학의 수학적 표현의 변천에 대한 고찰 - 수와 연산, 문자와 식 영역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the transition of mathematical representation in Joseon mathematics, which is focused on numbers and operations, letters and expressions. In Joseon mathematics, there had been two numeral systems, one by chinese character and the other by counting rods. These systems were changed into the decimal notation which used Indian-Arabic numerals in the late 19th century passing the stage of positional notation by Chinese character. The transition of the representation of operation and expressions was analogous to that of representation of numbers. In particular, Joseon mathematics represented the polynomials and equations by denoting the coefficients with counting rods. But the representation of European algebra was introduced in late Joseon Dynasty passing the transitional representation which used Chinese character. In conclusion, Joseon mathematics had the indigenous representation of numbers and mathematical symbols on our own. The transitional representation was found before the acceptance of European mathematical representations.

  • Early planning phase of private development project is an important part in mercy of failure and success of all project. Hut reliability of analysis result existing planning phase in not high to the importance. So we analyzed a basic problem point through case study and research data analysis of planning phase in private development project. After this, there is a cause in no establishment of systemic model about work processing and method of planning phase. We would like to suggest the solution through establishment of planning phase analysis processing and risk management model. We think that suggested analysis method increase the credibility of analysis result. With this, we anticipate we suggest the guideline in project process phase and that assist the effective accomplishment of project.

Concept Analysis of Nurses' Acceptance of Patient Deaths (간호사의 환자죽음 수용에 대한 개념분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify a theoretical basis of end-of-life care by examining attributes of the concept of the nurses' acceptance of patient deaths. Methods: Walker and Avant's approach to concept analysis was used. A literature study was performed to check the usage of the concept. To identify the attributes of the concept and come up with an operational definition, we analyzed 16 qualitative studies on nurses' experiences of death of patients, published in a national science magazine from 1999 to 2015. Results: The nurses' acceptance of death of patients was identified as having four attributes: acceptance through mourning, attaining insight on life and death while ruminating life, facing with fortitude and practicing human dignity. Antecedents of the concept were experiences of patient's death, confusion and conflict, negative emotions, passive responses, denial of patients' death. The consequences of the concept were found as the holistic end-of-life care and active pursuit of life. Conclusion: This study on the attributes of the concept of the nurses' acceptance of death of patients and it's operational definition will likely lay the foundation for applicable end-of-life care mediations and theoretical development.

A Study on Factors Influencing on Adolescents' Multicultural Acceptability : Compared Elementary School Student and Middle School Students (청소년의 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 초등학생과 중학생의 비교)

  • This study suggests different improvement practices of adolescents' multicultural acceptability to compare the factors influencing multicultural acceptability with elementary and middle school students. The data used in this study come from the Korean Child and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) of the National Youth Policy Institute(NYPI) comprising 4,092 responses from 5th grade elementary school students and 4th grade(middle school 2nd grade) of elementary school students. The study data were subjected to hierarchical regression analysis to give the following findings. First, Levels of Multicultural Acceptability were significantly different. Second, factors influencing multicultural acceptability for elementary school students and middle school students were different. Common factors were mother's education level, life's satisfaction, peer relationship, teacher relationship, and spirit of community. Factors for elementary school students's multicultural acceptability were subjective academic achievement, community awareness, experiences of cultural activity, and overseas visiting experiences. The factor for middle school students's multicultural acceptability was family/group travel experiences. Our findings highlight the importance of programs and education that are suitable for children's developmental level. Such peer group programs need to be offered for middle school students to achieve spirit of community and educational group program and various extracurricular activities to achieve community awareness and develop a spirit of community for elementary school students.

The Convergent Influence of MultiCultural Acceptability, Empathy and Global Citizenship in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 다문화수용성, 공감능력이 세계시민의식에 미치는 융합적 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive survey study intended to analyze the relationship between multicultural acceptability, empathy, and global citizenship of nursing students and identify the factors influencing global citizenship. The data was collected targeting 187 nursing students at universities located in the cities of B, U, and S. The collected data was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: global citizenship of nursing students was positively correlated with multicultural acceptability and empathy. Factors influencing the level of global citizenship were empathy, multicultural acceptability, which together explained 40.0% of the total variance in global citizenship. Consequently, this study raises the need for the development and application of steady practical programs and various learning methods for the enhancement of global citizenship, which is required in the fields of nursing education where global competence is considered to be important.

  • In the analysis of function, which is the core and early phase among the procedure of construction VE Job Plan, the accuracy of function definition directly connects to VE result. However, the method of defining function, which is currently used is not accurate and comprehended or is difficult to utilize it systematically. Also, there is not a clear definition about the function for selecting VE so that many difficulties occur in the organic connection between each of functions in the summarization of function after defining function. Therefore, this study cleared the definition of function and made up any counter measured problem occurred in FAST Diagram later on and suggested CAFAT(Combined Antithetic Function Analysis Technique) in order to induce better phase in functional analysis.
