Data were obtained from 235 women aged between 20 and 50 living in Seoul metropolitan area who have bought apparel products on impulse through cable TV. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, cluster analysis, MANOVA, and Chi-square analysis. By factor analysis, two factors of situational involvement factors were identified: Emotional Involvement and Cognitive Involvement. Based on situational involvement, consumers were classified into four groups; High Involvement, Low Involvement, Cognitive Involvement, and Emotional Involvement groups. These groups showed different decision making styles. The situational involvement groups were also different in terms of demographic characteristics, purchase behaviors, types of impulse purchase products, and responses to marketing stimuli. The findings of this study provide useful information for retails of Cable TV home shopping. Retailers may need to make useful marketing efforts for each types of situational involvement.

  • This research investigates the factors influencing price sensitivity in fashion products. This study incorporates three essential variables, which were likely to influence price sensitivity: the subjective shopping value of consumers, objective purpose of use, and social situation according to the shopping companions of consumers. A sample of young adult consumers (who had purchase experience of fashion products during the last six-months) was surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire. A 3-way ANOVA was used to evaluate the data. The results show that the utilitarian shopping value of consumers was more sensitive in price than the hedonic shopping value and a self-using purchase was more sensitive in price than a gift-giving purchase. In addition, a correlation effect was significant between the purpose of use and social situation. In addition, the correlation effect among all of the three variables was also significant.

  • In this study, we analyzed the effect of consumer's cognitive response, emotional response and behavioral response on online shopping stockouts (ISRI: Individual Stockout Response Index). And we try to show the heterogeneity of the degree of consumer response by subdivision market based on the regularity of distribution. The ISRI was developed by Kim and Lee in 2016 and 2018, which were based on the items and factors of cognitive, emotional and behavioral responses. The exponential stockouts response of consumers in this study will give an accurate picture of what consumers want when stockouts. further research should be done on how consumers' reactions are influenced by situational characteristics, consumer characteristics, store characteristics and brand / product characteristics. Especially, the price level of the product will affect the consumer 's response in the case of online fashion goods shopping.

  • This study investigated how consumer's uncertainty avoidance affect purchase deferral intention when purchasing high-involved products (i.e. laptops) in online shopping, and we looked at whether utilitarian/hedonic consumption value has a moderating effect in this relationship. Results showed the higher the uncertainty avoidance, the higher the deferral intention. Also, only the utilitarian consumption value had moderating effect in this relationship. This means that in an information overload situation like online shopping, consumers are more likely to delay their purchase intention when they have more uncertainty avoidance. Thus, to prevent this purchase delay, marketers should selectively present relative product information, strategically emphasize the importance of certain product attribution to reduce consumers' uncertainty of the product or highlight the utilitarian values of product attributes that are expected to have a significant impact on decision making.

  • This study is concerned with selling alliance in the internet shopping services, which is generally used by portal sites in recent and that is a typical form of strategic alliance. This study tried to find the relationship between. consumer's attitude and alliance performance. The authors investigated them in the field. then searched the reasons and determinants of selling alliance performance. As a result of field investigation, the authors found that the traffic of the portal site was not proportionated to the sales of internet shopping mall and this was not consistent with general expectation, With the analysis of it, the authors found that attitudes to the sites (brands) allianced in On-line and recognition of fitting between them had influenced positively on the attitude and purchase intention to alliance services. Moreover, unlike the attitude to the portal sites, the attitude to the internet shopping mall had positively influenced directly on the purchase intention. The other hand. from the view of influence power on the attitude to the allianced shopping service, the recognition of fitting between the sites was the factor which had the least effect of all factors. Compared with Off-line, this is interesting aspect of On-line. So in the On-line selling alliance, be careful of consideration for not only prior attitudes to the partners(portal and shopping mall) but also the fitness between them and make it in the mind that the attitude to shopping mall has greater influence upon the purchase intention than that to portal site.

  • This study tried to understand the structural relationship of consumer characteristics on consumer emotions and satisfaction in online shopping. First, consumer characteristics derived various tendencies through previous studies. Next, consumer emotion was defined as positive and negative emotions in the six purchasing processes from information search to use, and satisfaction was defined as the overall satisfaction of the purchasing experience. To this end, this study measured consumer satisfaction and positive/negative emotions in the six consumption processes in their 20s and 40s with online clothing shopping experience within the last month. Finally, structural equation modeling(SEM) was conducted. As a result, the model fit was good, and impulse purchase tendency, conspicuous consumption tendency, innovation tendency, and trendy shopping tendency only affected negative emotions. On the other hand, it was confirmed that information search tendency, hedonic shopping tendency, and economic shopping tendency directly affect positive emotions and indirectly affect consumer satisfaction. Through this, implications for improving the consumer experience in online shopping were presented by identifying consumer characteristics and enhancing consumer emotions.

  • As our society has been moving from the industrial society towards the information society, individual consumers' unique needs which were concealed behind mass products and services have been revealing themselves. As for Internet businesses, they are requested to implement the 'individual marketing' which regards each consumer as a segment of market, while being pressured to meet consumers' needs at the level never accomplishable before. The purpose of this study was to review the gap between the progress of individualization and consumers' expectations on the Internet shopping malls centering around the apparel shopping malls - which are most obliged to satisfy the consumers who are extremely individualized - and thereupon, explore the directions for development of on-line shopping mall designs.

  • The outpaced growth of online channel sales over the traditional retail sales is a result from superior shopping convenience that online stores offer to their customers. One major source of online shopping convenience is a personalized store that reduces customer's shopping time. Personalization of an online store is accomplished by using various in-store shopping behavior data that the Internet and Web Technology provides. Brick-and-mortar retailers have not been able to make this type of data available for their stores until now. However, RFID technology has now opened a new possibility to personalization of traditional retail stores. In this paper, we propose BRIMPS (BRIck-and-Mortar Personalization System) as a system that brick-and-mortar retailers may use to personalize their business and become more competitive against online retailers.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Flow experience on purchase intention. The results of this study show that (1) the purchase intention through internet is increased in proportion to the degree of cognition of users' experience. (2) The "Flow" experiences during the time of navigating internet shopping-mall sites lead to different results due to the separate motive of searching internet shopping-mall sites. (3) It should analyze the market segmentation of internet users, using Flow experience in the future based on the relationship between Flow and on-line and off-line purchase intention. (4) Finally, it should study more profoundly on "experiential" Flow and "goal-directed Flow that it has to analyze the difference in Flow experiences between separate purposes of searching internet shopping-mall sites.
