A Study on Accuracy Analysis and Application of Postion Tracking Technique for Worker Safety Management in Underground Space Construction Field (지하공간 건설시공현장에서의 작업자 안전관리를 위한 위치추적기술 정확도 분석 및 활용 연구)

  • In the construction site of underground buildings which have severe environment such as dust, noise, vibration, the technology of rescue the builders in the construction site when accident occurs by tracking the location of the builders and express the mission of supervisor smoothly. In this study, in order to acquire the location information of the builders in the construction site of underground buildings by using MEMS INS and air pressure sensor, we firstly performed the field test in construction site, analyzed the location and the elevation accuracy based on the detected results, and then verified its practicality and rationality after all. As a result, we could acquire worker's position-accuracy within 10m in horizontal direction and 4m in vertical direction. Therefore we could judge availability in construction fields of underground structure.

Approximation of a Warship Passive Sonar Signal Using Taylor Expansion (테일러 전개를 이용한 함정 수동 소나 신호 근사)

  • A passive sonar of warship is composed of several directional or omni-directional sensors. In order to model the acoustic signal received into a warship sonar, the wave propagation modeling is usually required from arbitrary noise source to all sensors equipped to the sonar. However, the full calculation for all sensors is time-consuming and the performance of sonar simulator deteriorates. In this study, we suggest an asymptotic method to estimate the sonar signal arrived to sensors adjacent to the reference sensor, where it is assumed that all information of eigenrays is known. This method is developed using Taylor series for the time delay of eigenray and similar to Fraunhofer and Fresnel approximation for sonar aperture. To validate the proposed method, some numerical experiments are performed for the passive sonar. The approximation when the second-order term is kept is vastly superior. In addition, the error criterion for each approximation is provided with a practical example.

Effects of Panax ginseng on Stress (스트레스에 대한 고려 인삼의 효능)

  • Stress activates hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and subsequently increases the systemic levels of glucocorticoids. It also inhibits the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from hypothalamus. Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng CA Meyer) has been proven as an anti-stress agent. However, most of the anti-stress effects of ginseng on stresses such as immobilization, electronic foot shock, and cold swim, which subsequently cause oxidative damage in brain, were obtained by using ginseng extract or ginseng total saponin. Moreover, anti-stress and anti-oxidative effects of ginseng were demonstrated by determination of enzyme or hormone levels but not mRNA as well as transcriptome. Further studies on transcriptome, proteomics, and systems biology as well as signal transduction would be required to elucidate molecular action mechanisms of ginseng on stresses.

  • Plug-In Digital Framework is a system response analysis tool that is employed when system components are composed of black-box modules. Generally, the dynamic characteristics of joints between the system components significantly affect system responses, and they lead to displacement- and frequency-dependent stiffness and loss factor. Thus, the sensitivity of each joint parameters should be estimated from a global perspective. In this study, we introduce a global sensitivity analysis procedure under the Plug-In Digital Framework. To efficiently calculate the system responses, we introduce the frequency response function (FRF)-based substructuring method. Using the random balance designs (RBD), we generate the system responses and estimate the global first-order sensitivities for each joint stiffness. We apply the proposed global sensitivity analysis method to an interior noise problem of a passenger car, and we evaluate the efficiency of the global sensitivity analysis method.

  • BSR noise emerges in a vehicle as a result of road vibrations, engine vibrations, and speaker vibrations. BSR noise occurs with an irregular impact or stick slip friction phenomenon as the influence of the resonance mode when the vibration input load is transferred along poor joint and contacting pairs of the system. A sub-structure method of finite element analysis is required to detect impacts and slip in the full vehicle model. This study presents a method for sub-structure modeling and a rattle and squeak detection methodology that considers the characteristics of road vibration inputs.

A Study on the Automatic Detection and Extraction of Narrowband Multiple Frequency Lines (협대역 다중 주파수선의 자동 탐지 및 추출 기법 연구)

  • Passive sonar system is designed to classify the underwater targets by analyzing and comparing the various acoustic characteristics such as signal strength, bandwidth, number of tonals and relationship of tonals from the extracted tonals and frequency lines. First of all the precise detection and extraction of signal frequency lines is of particular importance for enhancing the reliability of target classification. But, the narrowband frequency lines which are the line formed in spectrogram by a tonal of constant frequency in each frame can be detected weakly or discontinuously because of the variation of signal strength and transmission loss in the sea. Also, it is very difficult to detect and extract precisely the signal frequency lines by the complexity of impulsive ambient noise and signal components. In this paper, the automatic detection and extraction method that can detect and extract the signal components of frequency tines precisely are proposed. The proposed method can be applied under the bad conditions with weak signal strength and high ambient noise. It is confirmed by the simulation using real underwater target data.

Finite Element Analysis for the Safety Assessment of Take-out Robot (취출로봇의 안전성 평가를 위한 유한요소해석)

  • Take-out robots used for handling of the plastic parts manufactured with the injection mold are usually the gantry type that consists of long and thin links. In this study, we want to evaluate the safety of the take-out Robot structure through finite element analysis. The take-out Robot is automated robot to transport from one location to another in the molded article. The take-out Robot structure has a 380 kilogram weight, a 1300mm width, a 670.5mm depth and a 670mm height. It confirms the equivalent stress and the deformation of the load and its own weight through weight analysis. It looks for the natural frequency of the take-out robot through modal analysis. It confirms the acceleration, the normal stress and the deformation about the natural frequency of the take-out robot through response analysis. Also It repeats the analysis by changing the structure of the take-out robot, to confirm the results and it is determined whether the safety of the structure. These analysis results are effectively used to reduce the vibration of the take-out robot.

  • In this paper, a method to control the noise and vibration of a standard gear transmitting mechanical power in the transmission insides, to things regarding a way to inspect the gear which was processed minutely. In an algorithm used to accurately measure a work gear, the measurements of the master gear are considered as the basis. The existing method considers one rotation of the standard gear and monitor gear, and that carried out mastering work in frequency ways. In this study, an algorithm to measure standard gear and monitor gear is proposed along with methods to calculate an error of the monitor gear and to significantly increase the precision of gear measurement. Further, the algorithm is fast and is expected to be capable of accurately measuring for mastering processing.

  • Ride comfort of railway vehicles is affected by many factors, such as vibration, noise, smell, temperature, visual stimuli, humidity and a seat design. In general, vibration, which originates from vehicle motion, is considered as the primary concern. In evaluating the ride comfort, relationship between passenger's feeling and vibration characteristics is very important because human feeling is dependent on frequency spectrum of vibration. Therefore, the weighing functions in frequency domain are used to evaluate the ride comfort of railway vehicles. In the present paper, we have analyzed the characteristics of the frequency weighting curves defined in many standards and reviewed the effect resulting from their difference on the ride comfort.

  • For the manual transmission gearbox used in the automotive industry, gear meshing transmission error is the main source of noise known as gear whine, and radiated gear whine noise plays an important role in the whole gearbox. Therefore, in order to keep competitive in the automotive market, the NVH performance of transmission gearboxes is increasingly important for automotive manufacturers when a new product is developed. In this paper, in order to achieve an optimized tooth contact pattern, gear tooth modification is applied to make up for the deformation of the teeth owing to load. A five-speed MT gearbox is firstly modeled in RomaxDesign software and the prediction of transmission error under the loaded torques is studied and compared. From the simulation, the transmission error and maximum contact stress are also simulated and compared after tooth modification of the loaded torques. Finally, the simulation results are used to optimize the whole gearbox design and the final gearbox prototype is testified to obtain NVH performance in a semi-anechoic room.
