Model parameters of the WASP5 applied to Saemanguem lake were estimated. The methodology is based on grouping water quality constituents and relevant parameters and successively estimating each group of parameters by a trial-and-error procedure. Chlorophyll-a, nitrogen cycles, phosphorus cycles, BOD and DO were simulated at the complexity level 4. The Saemangeum basin divided into a number of unit sub-watershed. And a water budget model analysis with 22 years from 1975 to 1996 year was examined. In this paper, input data at upstream boundaries of model was made to determine seasonally-averaged flow rate through water budget analysis. Calibration and verification of the model were used seasonal average of water quality measurements in 1997 and 1998 years. Grouping water quality constituents and associated parameters proved to be efficient in estimating a number of model parameters. From the results of model calibration and verification, it was found that quantitative evaluations of nonpoint source for organic matters are essential.

Existing Semangeum's water balance analysis simplifies whole basin to single basin and achieved volume of effluence that produce by Kajiyama way to foundation. But Semangeum is complicated and various rice-wine strainer supply system. And there is difficulty to apply as elastic when water balance element is changed at free point. Divided to unit possession station for suitable water balance analysis model application to Semangeum in this study. And developed basin water balance model of GIS base that can do details analysis is bite about development and transfer of an appropriation in the budget of basin water resources. Achieved study including abstraction and concept design that use UML (unified modeling language) diagram for details analysis, stream network composition for rice-wine strainer supply system application, preprocessing of GIS base and postprocessing module development, model revision and verification etc. Support of this water balance analysis model is available to establish efficient water resources administration plan through outward flow process analysis of water resources. And support is considered to be possible in more convenient and, reasonable water resources administration way establishment by minimizing manual processing in systematic water resources government official to user and support diversified analysis system.

Sustaiable development yield of groundwater in Korea has been determined according to 10 year drought frequency of groundwater recharge in the standard mid-sized watershed or relatively large area of district. Therefore, the evaluation of groundwater impact in a small watershed is hard to apply. Fot this purpose, a novel approach to estimate cell based sustainable development yield of groundwater (SDYG) is suggested and applied to Gyeongju region. Cell based groundwater recharge is computed using hydrological component analysis using the SWAT-MODFLOW which is an integrated surface water-groundwater model. To estimate the potential amount of groundwater development, the existing method which uses 10 year drought frequency rainfall multiplied by recharge coefficient is adopted. Cell based SDYGs are computed and summed for 143 sub-watersheds and administrative districts. When these SDYGs are combined with groundwater usage data, the groundwater usage rate (total usage / SDYG) shows wide local variations (7.1~108.8%) which are unseen when average rate (24%) is only evaluated. Also, it is expected that additional SDYGs in any small district could be estimated.
This study performs a daily long-term runoff analysis for 30 years to forecast medium- and long-term probabilistic reservoir inflows on the Soyang River basin. Snowmelt is computed by Anderson's temperature index snowmelt model and potenetial evaporation is estimated by Penman-combination method to produce input data for a rainfall-runoff model. A semi-distributed TOPMODEL which is composed of hydrologic rainfall-runoff process on the headwater-catchment scale based on the original TOPMODEL and a hydraulic flow routing model to route the catchment outflows using by kinematic wave scheme is used in this study It can be observed that the time variations of the computed snowmelt and potential evaporation are well agreed with indirect observed data such as maximum snow depth and small pan evaporation. Model parameters are calibrated with low-flow(1979), medium-flow(1999), and high-flow(1990) rainfall-runoff events. In the model evaluation, relative volumetric error and correlation coefficient between observed and computed flows are computed to 5.64% and 0.91, respectively. Also, the relative volumetric errors decrease to 17% and 4% during March and April with or without the snowmelt model. It is concluded that the semi-distributed TOPMODEL has well performance and the snowmelt effects for the long-term runoff computation are important on the study area.

This study aims to demonstrate the relationship between various factors and soil erosion or deposition, simulated from distributed rainfall-sediment-runoff model applications. We selected area, overland flow length, local slope as catchment representative characteristics among many important geographic factors and also used the grid-based accumulated rainfall as a representative hydro-climatic factor to assess the effect of these two different types of factors on erosion and deposition. The study catchment was divided based on the Strahler's stream order method for analysis of the relationship between area and erosion or deposition. Both erosion and deposition increased linearly as the catchment area became larger. Erosion occurred widely throughout the catchment, whereas deposition was observed at the grid-cells near the channel network with short overland flow lengths and mild slopes. In addition, the relationship results between grid-based accumulated rainfall and soil erosion or deposition showed that erosion increased gradually as rainfall amount increased, whereas deposition responded irregularly to variations in rainfall. Within the context of these results, it can be concluded that deposition is closely related with the geographic factors used in this study while erosion is significantly affected by rainfall.
This study analyzes housing choice determinants of the youth and newlyweds households by using housing survey data in Incheon. A multinomial logit model is employed for analysis with the following variables: housing characteristics, housing market characteristics, and residential and neighborhood environment characteristics. The findings from the analysis are as follows. First, for the continued residence of the youth, the important factors were the relief assistance of housing maintenance costs. For the newlyweds, the important factors were the quality improvement of residential environments to ensure residential stability. Second, the housing choice factors to attract the youth were residential support for rent, maintenance costs, and relocation, and the improvements of residential environments such as security, noise levels, and medical facilities. For the newlyweds, the important factors were housing loan assistance for a home purchase or a cheonsei deposit and residential quality improvements for air pollution and parking facilities. Third, the youth were likely to move out due to high rental costs, and the newlyweds were likely to move out for the purchase of a new apartment or higher-quality housing.

Korean port developments have been mostly made by the central government. With the introduction of the Port Authority system, however, roles and function assignments of the central government in port development have been in change and the Port Authority has to find a solution for inducement of private investment in port development. This paper has examined the current legal system of port developments and then sought the way for inducement of private capital to improve specialty and efficiency of harbor facilities management and development under Port Authority. As the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and fisheries(MMAF) has two types of legal system for inducement of private investment on port developments, the Port Authorities can also have two types of private finance. Private finances by the Port Authorities has some more critical advantages than the one by the central government. It is also required to change the the administrative permissions and concession agreements which MMAF conveyed to private participants in port developments into the concession agreements between Port Authorities and private participants.
The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model has been widely used in hydrology and sediment simulation worldwide. In most cases, the SWAT model is first calibrated with adjustments in model parameters, and then the validation is performed. However, very little study regarding the effects on SWAT estimation of subwatershed delineation was performed. Thus, the SWAT model was applied to the Doam-dam watershed with various threshold values in subwatershed delineation in this study to examine the effects on the number of subwatershed delineated on SWAT estimation. It was found the flow effect of subwatershed delineation is negligible. However there were huge variations in SWAT estimated sediment, T-N, and T-P values with the use of various threshold value in watershed delineation. Sometimes these variations due to watershed delineation are beyond the effects of parameter adjustment in model calibration and validation. The SWAT is a semi-distributed modeling system, thus, the subwatershed characteristics are assumed to be the same for all Hydrologic Response Unit (HRU) within that subwatershed. This assumption leads to variations in the SWAT estimated sediment and nutrient output values. Therefore, it is strongly recommended the SWAT users need to use the HUR specific slope length and slope value in model runs, instead of using the slope and the corresponding slope length of the subawatershed to exclude the effects of the number of subwatershed delineated on the SWAT estimation.
