However, designers do not have accurate guidelines in new product development because the structure of cause and effect of consumers' preference - the most important part of concept testing - has not been provided as quantitative data. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present guidelines for new product concept development through applying means-end chain theory and product form theory which explains what kinds of benefits cause consumers to purchase a product and what kinds of design attributes meet the benefits. In this study, after reviewing means-end chain theory and product form theory, and developing a research model, guidelines for a concept product development (TV are provided through an empirical study.

The main purpose of this study is to get insight into the essential cognitive basis of local food purchase behavior based on Ajzen's (1991) theory of planned behavior. By asking open-ended questions using an online survey, participants' (n=163) salient behavioral, normative, and control beliefs in regard to local food purchase were assessed and analyzed. The most salient advantage was supporting local economy, followed by freshness, knowledge of where the food came from and how it was handled, environmental benefits, and health benefits. Assessing to consumers' normative beliefs found that local businesses, local farmers, family, local people, and friends were the most frequently mentioned individuals or groups who would approve consumers' local food purchasing. In contrast, the most salient barrier was inconvenient store location and time, followed by higher prices, limited availability and variety, and limited knowledge about where to buy local food.
Unexpected consumer dissatisfaction emerges through rapid growth and expansion of on-line shopping channel. This research focused on the fashion online retail channels' negative aspect caused by service failure which possibly disappointed consumers. We also tried to seek for appropriate service recovery types based on frequently offered recovery types on-line. Data from college students were analyzed. Results indicate that fitting problem, insufficient information, product defect, inventory problem and slow delivery were the main service failure types in apparel e-shopping. Regression analysis identified that among these types, insufficient information, product defect, and slow delivery had significant influence on channel satisfaction after post recovery effort. Results also confirmed significant relationships between channel satisfaction and channel switching. Consumers perceived benefit level causes overall channel satisfaction level to rise while perceived risk leads to lower level of channel satisfaction. Choosing desirable service recovery activities in each service failure situations is necessary in order to raise consumer's channel satisfaction in online apparel shopping.

In order to compare the ginseng consumption culture of Korean and Chinese college students, their purchase status of ginseng products, attitudes toward ginseng, and satisfaction with ginseng products were examined, and the purchase and recommendation intention of ginseng products was investigated. It targeted 267 Korean college students and 318 Chinese college students who had experience eating ginseng products. As a result of the survey, in the case of Korean college student consumers, interest in ginseng products increased compared to before COVID-19, and the intention to purchase and recommend ginseng products increased. In addition, the higher the satisfaction with ginseng, the higher the frequency of ginseng purchase experience, the higher the social benefit attitude toward ginseng, and the higher the age, the higher the intention to purchase and recommend ginseng products. Chinese college student consumers had higher parental purchases than Korea, higher positive intentions to purchase and recommend social and psychological benefits, and their 20s are already more interested and friendly than Korea. What Korean college students and Chinese college student consumers have in common is that interest in health, safety, and environment has increased since before COVID-19, and interest in ginseng-related products has changed in individual experiences, indicating that individual experiences are important and Chinese college student consumers are influenced by parents. In particular, COVID-19 is an opportunity to recognize the importance of health, which is important to those in their 20s, and is actually related to purchase intention. Focusing on these results, it seems that expansion to preferred products for college student consumers and differentiation of marketing strategies according to family influence and consumption culture should be made, and these new changes due to COVID-19 seem to be a timely opportunity. At a time when interest in health and safety has increased, strategic preparations are needed for the future consumersociety to respond to changesin product diversity and convergence, changes in marketing media to meet consumer consumption values, and changesin consumer family types, such assingle households.
The purpose of this study was to find out the source of information and clothing benefits of female university students according to their shopping orientations. 340 female students living in Seoul were surveyed and the following results were found: Female students were divided into recreational shoppers and convenience shoppers according to their shopping orientations. Recreational shoppers exhibited interest in self-improvement, individuality, economy, and convenience shoppers in practicality of clothing benefits. Recreational shoppers focused higher value on gathering information than convenience shoppers and prefer information they gain in store display and mass communication media. Recreational shoppers have higher value on self-actualizing than social affiliation value. The findings indicate that shopping orientation can be used effectively to segment the female university students market and the finding of this study contribute to the development of strategies for clothing producer or retailer to provide a strong means to satisfy their shoppers' needs.

A total of 464 usable questionnaires were obtained from respondents who resided in Korea (n=253) and the United States (n=21l). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and MANOVA. For online clothing purchases, the benefit consisted of five factors: product attribute, transaction services, security, country of origin, and brand symbolism. Results showed that the main effect of nationality and gender on the benefit factors were significant; there was an effect of nationality on product attributes, transaction services, and country of origin. Compared with Korean consumer, U.S. consumers were more likely to consider the benefits of product attributes, transaction services, and country of origin for clothing in online purchases. In addition, there was a gender difference in benefit factors of product attributes, transaction services, country of origin, and brand symbolism. Females were more likely than males to consider the benefits for clothing in online purchases. An interaction effect of nationality and gender was not significant in online purchases for clothing.
