Mediating effect of Self-Leadership in relationship between College-Life Satisfaction and Academic Self-Efficacy of Beauty Major Chinese Students (미용전공 중국유학생의 대학생활만족도와 학업적 자기효능감의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to find the mediating effect of self-leadership in the relationship between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction of Chinese students majoring in beauty. Surveys were answered by 400 Chinese students from July to August 2019 and analyzed as follows. We used the SPSS22.0 program and Process macro for SPSS to analyze the frequency, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and bootstrap method. The results of the analysis showed a positive correlation among the college-life satisfaction, self-leadership, and academic self-efficacy of Chinese students, and self-leadership acted as a partially mediating variable between academic self-efficacy and college-life satisfaction. Therefore, it was found that a higher college-life satisfaction and self-leadership resulted in a higher academic self-efficacy. Based on these results, in order to alleviate the problems of college life maladjustment and low learning efficiency of Chinese students majoring in beauty, the development of self-leadership education programs is becoming more important. This must be emphasized in the Edu-Tech era due to the need for customized education programs for international students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kiosk Use Among Seniors: An Empirical Investigation of the Effects of Technostress and Subjective Norms on Awareness of Shadow Work (고령층의 키오스크 사용에서의 기술스트레스와 주관적 규범이 그림자노동 지각에 미치는 영향: 실증 분석)

  • While the introduction of kiosk has become an essential element, enjoying the effect of labor cost reduction, it has not been able to embrace the senior population due to the digital divide. This study investigated which factors have relationships with conflict over use for kiosk from the viewpoint of shadow work that appears during self-service kiosk use. An analysis of 159 seniors through survey revealed that both technostress and subjective norms had significant relationships with conflict over use for kiosk, and that the perception of shadow work had a partial mediating effect on these relationships. Further, user experience showed a moderating effect on the relationship between technostress and perception of shadow work. These results suggest theoretical and practical implications related to digital shadow work, providing the relevant policy regarding digital inclusion for seniors.

  • Quantified Self란 개인의 일상활동에서 신체적 정신적 상태를 센싱 및 트래킹하여 이를 수치화함으로써 자신의 상태를 분석하고 삶의 질을 개선하기 위한 방법을 연구하여 실생활에 적용하는 활동을 의미한다. 이는 최근 헬스와 피트니스에 활용 가능한 개인 센서 및 웨어러블 기기의 급속한 보급과 다양한 개인 정보 트래킹 기기의 출현으로 개인의 일상경험을 모니터링하고, 생성되는 정보를 수집, 통합 분석을 통해 새로운 개인화 서비스를 제공하기 위한 기술개발 이슈로 주목받고 있다. Quantified Self 데이터는 초기의 수작업으로 트래킹하여 수집한 소량의 관리 가능한 데이터 세트에서 점차 대용량의 Quantified Self 빅데이터 세트로 크기가 증가하고 있으며, 개인정보의 통합분석을 위한 빅데이터 모델과 자동적인 셀프-트래킹 플랫폼으로서의 웨어러블 컴퓨터 기술과 응용의 기대치를 증가시키고 있다. 본고에서는 Quantified Self 정의와 기술 및 서비스 동향에 대해 살펴보고, 웨어러블 센싱 기반 트래킹 기기의 개발사례와 Quantified Self의 주요이슈와 미래전망에 대해 조망해 본다.

The Effect of Technology Anxiety and Innovativeness on Consumer's Continuance Intention toward Kiosks: Focused on Z Generation (고객들의 기술 우려감과 혁신성이 키오스크 지속 사용 의지에 미치는 영향: Z세대를 중심으로)

  • With the spread of COVID-19 and the preference for untact services, kiosks, which is one of self-service technologies, have been expanding into various service fields. Kiosks have some advantages of reducing labor costs and increasing work efficiency, but they often cause difficulties in the process of using kiosks. In this vein, this study examines the key antecedents affecting consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks by integrating technology anxiety and innovativeness into the expanded expectation-confirmation model. The research model was verified for the MZ generation to examine the perceptions of MZ generation about Kiosks. This is because if the MZ generation feels technical anxiety or difficualty about using kiosks, customers of other generations can expect to feel even more uncomfortable. As a result of the analysis of this study, it was confirmed that technical anxiety has a significantly negative effect on consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks. However, among the characteristic factors of customers, innovativeness did not significantly consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks. Based on our findings, it is expected that service companies will be able to understand the mechanism of forming consumer's continuance intention toward kiosks and pursuit several management activities for successfully adopting kiosks.

  • This study was undertaken to explore the determinants affecting behavioral intention to adopt airport self-service. Based on the theoretical model incorporating the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), in this study, a revised and extended model was proposed in order to better explain Airport Self-service adoption. Moreover, the aim was to determine the mediating effect of hedonic motivation on Airport Self-service adoption. The proposed model was empirically tested using survey data provided by 323 respondents and was analyzed using a multiple regression analysis.

  • This study deals with an important but ignored topic in previous IS research, so called trustee issue. The purpose of this study is to compare the influencing strengths of trust types on the customers' intention to adopt IT services. The research results showed that the influences of the customers' self-trust and the trust in mobile channel on the customers' intention to adopt mobile banking are statistically significant. However, unlike the results of previous research, it was revealed that the customers' trust in vendors is statistically insignificant in mobile banking services.

  • Airlines have been introducing self check-in kiosks to reduce check-in time and improve operational efficacy to increase business revenue. The domestic airlines have actively provided kiosks at airports which are expected to reduce their operating costs and enrich their passengers' travel convenience. Based on the above background, the study investigates the factors influencing intention to use the self check-in kiosks by employing the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM). The study, therefore, designed a research model by reviewing theories and studies on the relationship among information quality, innovativeness, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention to use the kiosks. The structural equation model revealed the following. Information quality and innovativeness had a significantly positive influence on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness; furthermore, perceived ease of use had a significantly positive influence on perceived usefulness. In addition, both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness had a significantly positive influence on intention to use. The results indicate that the airlines should constantly develop user-friendly contents and design of the self check-in kiosks.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore how consumer traits(technology anxiety and need for interaction) explain attitude toward self-service technologies in fashion retail stores. We examined if technology anxiety influences perceived productivity and attitude toward self-service technologies, and if so, how the need for interaction with employees moderates the impact of technology anxiety on perceived productivity and attitude. For the purpose of the study, a web-based survey with Korean consumers was conducted. The final sample size was 214. Structural Equation Modeling Analysis and PROCESS in SPSS were employed to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings indicated that technology anxiety negatively affected perceived productivity and attitude toward self-service technologies in which perceived productivity affected attitude positively. Need for interaction with employees was found to moderate the relationship between technology anxiety and perceived productivity. It also moderated the relationship between technology anxiety and attitude. This study contributes to the self-service technology literature by identifying two antecedents of consumer attitude toward self-service technologies: technology anxiety and the need for interaction. The findings further provide valuable insights to retailers and marketers as to how technology anxiety, perceived productivity, and the need for interaction work in enhancing consumer attitude toward self-service technologies in the context of fashion retail.

Application of AHP to the Selection Factors of Kiosk as Technology-Based Self-Service

  • In this study, we proposed a hierarchy process analysis model for Kiosk known as technology-based self-service, In addition, we deduced the selection factors based on the literature review and calculated the weight of the factors. To estimate the priorities of selection factors, we used the data collected from consumers who have used Kiosks at cafe or fast food restaurant. The results of the study showed that the convenience among the factors in the first stage, consisted of safety, design, convenience, informativity, and responsiveness, revealed the most important factor in both cafe and fast food restaurant. Synthetic calculation of the first stage factors and the second stage factors showed that simple procedure was the most important factor. The results of comparing the priorities between cafe and fast food restaurant showed that consumers assessed their priorities differently in simple procedures, nutritional information, and fast menu provision.
