  • Car-sharing services have been settled on as a new type of public transportation owing to their enhanced convenience, expanded awareness of practical consumption patterns, the inspiration for environmental conscientiousness, and the diffusion of smart phones following the economic crisis. With development of the market, many people have started using such services. However, security is still an issue. Damage is expected since IDs and passwords are required for log-in when renting and controlling the vehicles. The protocol suggested in this study uses bio-information, providing an optimized service, and convenient (but strong) authentication with various service-provider clouds registering car big data about users through brokers. If using the techniques suggested here, it is feasible to reduce the exposure of the bio-information, and to receive service from multiple service-provider clouds through one particular broker. In addition, the proposed protocol reduces public key operations and session key storage by 20% on mobile devices, compared to existing car-sharing platforms, and because it provides convenient, but strong, authentication (and therefore constitutes a secure channel), it is possible to proceed with secure communications. It is anticipated that the techniques suggested in this study will enhance secure communications and user convenience in the future car-sharing-service cloud environment.

  • DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol for efficiency and convenience of the IP address management. DHCP automatically assigns an IP address and configuration information needed to run the TCP/IP communication to individual host in the network. However, existing DHCP is vulnerable for network attack such as DHCP spoofing, release attack because there is no mutual authentication systems between server and client. To solve this problem, we have designed a new DHCP protocol supporting the following features: First, ECDH(Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman) is used to create session key and ECDSA(Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) is used for mutual authentication between server and client. Also this protocol ensures integrity of message by adding a HMAC(Hash-based Message Authentication Code) on the message. And replay attacks can be prevented by using a Nonce. As a result, The receiver can prevent the network attack by discarding the received message from unauthorized host.

  • The attacker can access the RFID systems illegally because authentication operation on the RFID systems are performed in wireless communication. Authentication methods based on the PUF were presented to defend attacks. Because of Hash and AES, the cost is expensive for the low-cost RFID tag. In this paper, the PUF-based encryption processor and the mutual authentication protocol are proposed for low-cost RFID authentication. The challenge-response pairs (PUF's input and output) are utilized as the authentication key and encrypted by the PUF's characteristics. The encryption method is changed each session and XOR operation with random number is utilized. Therefore, it is difficult for the attacker to analyze challenge-response pairs and attack the systems. In addition, the proposed method with PUF is strong against physical attacks. And the method protects the tag cloning attack by physical attacks because there is no authentication data in the tag. Proposed processor is implemented at low cost with small footprint and low power.

  • The fingerprint is the identity authentication method which is representative uses biometrics. Compared with password methods there is a feature where the dangerousness of embezzling or lossing is few. With like these features using the fingerprint in OTP creations. In this paper, we introduce the developed prototype of OTP system using fingerprint. And the overcome method of OTP system's demerit using fingerprint which extracts few minutiae points into a whole fingerprint image is proposed. A few minutiae points wasn't generated many encryption key for OTP session. The proposed method is overlaid the same fingerprint simply and added many minutiae points as biased overlaid fingerprints. Hence the security of OTP using fingerprint and the randomness over password-guessing are strengthened.

  • WoT (Web of Things) was proposed to realize intelligent thing to thing communications using WEB standard technology. It is difficult to adapt security protocols suited for existing Internet communications into WoT directly because WoT includes LLN(Low-power, Lossy Network) and resource constrained sensor devices. Recently, IETF standard group propose to use DTLS protocol for supporting security services in WoT environments. However, DTLS protocol is not an efficient solution for supporting end to end security in WoT since it introduces complex handshaking procedures and high communication overheads. We, therefore, divide WoT environment into two areas- one is DTLS enabled area and the other is an area using lightweight security scheme in order to improve them. Then we propose a mutual authentication scheme and a session key distribution scheme for the second area. The proposed system utilizes a smart device as a mobile gateway and WoT proxy. In the proposed authentication scheme, we modify the ISO 9798 standard to reduce both communication overhead and computing time of cryptographic primitives. In addition, our scheme is able to defend against replay attacks, spoofing attacks, select plaintext/ciphertext attacks, and DoS attacks, etc.
