PC User Segmentation based on user contextual inquiry interview analysis -Focusing on Soho, small and medium-sized businesses- (PC 사용자의 업무 행태분석을 통한 유형화 - 소호, 중소기업 사용자를 중심으로-)

  • Now days with the significant grows of internet and PC hardware/software, most of the business, include small size business and soho, is worked by PC/Network. However these critical changes, all the PC/Network system or service is identical and these make user a inconvenient experience and unpleasant aspect to PC/Network. This research is to segment the user bases on the user context of using PC and all this segmentation was done in contextual design process. From Contextual Interview, all data of user context of environment, use case, needs, voices, break downs were captured and these data were interpreted and filtered to affinity notes and user modeling. After the interpretation, the consolidation was being held by affinity diagram, which could make ready to segment the user. For the result, 3 segmentation was evaluated and which are the 'Holistic Networker', 'Unplugged Controller' and 'Passive Reactor'.

Measurement of Glass Sintering Degree by Electro-chemical Method (전기 화학적 방법을 이용한 소결도의 측정)

  • PDP rib is one of the important parts of manufacturing process and the sintering degree of rib plays an important role to prevent some problems such as cross talk. Nowadays, the screen-printing method, which is a low price and high production, is used to make a rib. However, it is hard to judge and value the sintering ratio of sintered body itself. In this study, we measured the sintering degree by the dielectric breakdown of pores with the potentiostat. We conformed that this has similar tendency to density of sintered samples and an error being expected by open and closed pores was inspected by change of the microstructure to scanning electron microscope. This result showed that the sintering degree of PDP rib could be analyzed into the electro-chemical method.

An analysis on the Factors of the Consumption Expenditure on K-beauty Service Industry (K-beauty 서비스산업 소비지출의 영향요인 분석)

  • This study aims to propose for the K-beauty industry by analyzing the consumption situation. The data used the household trend survey and GDP from 06' to 16' provided by the National Statistical Office. The analysis results of the influencing factors of expenditure on the K-beauty service industry per household resulted in the increase of expenditure on hair and beauty services and their goods when ordinary income decreased, it was possible to understand the similarities between the change of Engel's coefficient. It was difference in the proportion of consumption of beauty services account by income quintiles.The increase of the GNI had an effect on that of the consumption of K-beauty. The above results show that beauty service industry is relevant to the items of households' income and expenditure. Plans are needed to take into account national economic trends and consumption patterns.

Investigation on emission characteristics of nitrous oxide from marine diesel engine (선박용 디젤엔진에서 아산화질소의 배출특성에 대한 연구)

  • Nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) is naturally generated from biological activity, such as bacteria's material exchange. However, recent $N_2O$ concentration in the atmosphere has being increased by the human activities such as industrial growth. One of factors to increase $N_2O$ concentration in the atmosphere is a $N_2O$ emission caused by the combustion of marine fuel oils. The marine transportation presently handles over 99 percent of the international freight cargoes and the number of ship is continuously increasing with increment of cargoes. In this study, author conducted a series of the experimental investigations on which combustion of fuels containing different element concentrations used in a 4-stroke marine diesel engine affect $N_2O$ emissions in the exhaust gas. Moreover, it is assessed on the extent to which fuel combustion patterns in the combustion chamber affect $N_2O$ emissions.

Effective Object Recognition based on Physical Theory in Medical Image Processing (의료 영상처리에서의 물리적 이론을 활용한 객체 유효 인식 방법)

  • In medical image processing field, object recognition is usually processed based on region segmentation algorithm. Region segmentation in the computing field is carried out by computerized processing of various input information such as brightness, shape, and pattern analysis. If the information mentioned does not make sense, however, many limitations could occur with region segmentation during computer processing. Therefore, this paper suggests effective region segmentation method based on R2-map information within the magnetic resonance (MR) theory. In this study, the experiment had been conducted using images including the liver region and by setting up feature points of R2-map as seed points for 2D region growing and final boundary correction to enable region segmentation even when the border line was not clear. As a result, an average area difference of 7.5%, which was higher than the accuracy of conventional exist region segmentation algorithm, was obtained.

Sustainability Practices to Achieve Sustainability in International Port Operations (국제항만 운영의 지속가능성을 확보하기 위한 지속가능활동)

  • Sustainability is a broad concept involving economic, social and environmental issues in operational and managerial processes. To assist ports to implant sustainability practices into their operations, this paper conceptualizes the structure of sustainability practice in port operations, based on interviews undertaken at Busan port in early 2013. Results revealed that, as a strategic practice to improve their internal business processes, sustainability practices necessitate the simultaneous pursuit of container traffic growth, low environmental impacts and corporate responsible image making, operational efficiency, efficiency of the use of the port area and sustainable growth. Through thematic analysis, the relevant practices were clustered into four sub-dimensions incorporating environmental technologies, continual monitoring and upgrading, internal process improvement, and cooperation and communication. Further, reporting the relevant issues such as barriers and challenges in carrying out sustainability practices, the findings provide useful insights for strategic agenda to assist ports to incorporate sustainability practices in their operations.

Research Trends in Light Guide Plates for LED Backlight Units (LED 백라이트유닛 도광판의 연구동향)

  • The display, which is closely related to modern life, is being developed as a window on a network connecting individuals, devices, and even other individuals from simple display devices, as the IT industry develops. To achieve a thinner, brighter unit with less consumption for backlighting, the LED light source has applied, and the study of complex light-guiding plates to improve luminance, uniformity, and viewing angle has been initiated. In this paper, we summarize the research results for the scatterers' pattern formation of the light-guiding plate and the arrangement and composition of the light source, which have enabled remarkable development of the LED backlight unit over the last 10 years. In addition, a large-area flat-screen illumination system, applying the light-guiding-plate technology to a currently noteworthy LED light-fixture design, is outlined. Finally, we discuss the direction and way to develop the current technology more progressively.

Properties of ITO thin films fabricated by R.F magnetron sputtering (R.F. magnetron sputtering 법으로 제작한 ITO 박막의 특성)

  • Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) thin films have been fabricated by the rf magnetron sputtering technique with a target of a mixture $In_{2}O_{3}$ (90mol%) and $SnO_{2}$ (10mol%). We prepared ITO thin films with substrate temperature 100, 200, 300, 400, $500^{\circ}C$ and post-annealing temperature 300, 400, $500^{\circ}C$. And we analyzed X -ray diffraction patterns, electrical properties, transmission spectra and SEM photographs. As a result, the crystallinity, electrical conductivity and transmittance of ITO thin films were improved with increasing substrate temperature. But, as increasing post-annealing temperature in air, conductivity of the film was decreased. When the ITO thin film was fabricated with substrate temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ and thickness of $3000{\AA}$, its resistivity and transmittance were about $2{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ and 85% or more, respectively.

  • Recently, SrBi$_{2}$Ta$_{2}$ $O_{9}$(SBT) and Pb(Zr,Ti) $O_{3}$(PZT) were much attracted as materials of capacitor for ferroelectric random access memory(FRAM) with higher read/ write speed, lower power consumption and nonvolartility. SBT thin film has appeared as the most prominent fatigue free and low operation voltage. To highly integrate FRAM, SBT thin film has to be etched. A lot of papers have been reported over growth of SBT thin film and its characteristics. However, there are few reports about etching SBT thin film owing to difficult of etching ferroelectric materials. SBT thin film was etched in CF$_{4}$Ar plasma using magnetically enhanced inductively coupled plasma (MEICP) system. In order to investigate the chemical reaction on the etched surface of SBT thin films, X-ray Photoelecton spectrosocpy (XPS) and Secondary ion mass spectroscopy(SIMS) was performed.

An Equalizing for CCI Canceling in MLC NAND Flash Memory (MLC NAND 플래시 메모리의 CCI 감소를 위한 등화기 설계)

  • This paper presents an equalizer reducing CCI(cell-to-cell interference) in MLC NAND flash memory. The CCI is a critical factor which affects occurring data errors in a cell, when surrounding cells are programed. We derived a characteristic equation for CCI considering write procedure of data that is similar with signal equalizing. The model considers the floating gate capacitance coupling effect, the direct field effect, and programming methods of the MLC NAND flash memory. We verify the proposed equalizer comparing with the measured data of 1-block MLC NAND flash memory. As the simulation result, the equalizer shows an error correction ratio about 60% under 20nm NAND process.
