Improvement of Flexural Structural Performance and Applied Section Shape for Sound Proof Wall Structures Using Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer(GFRP) (GFRP를 활용한 도로 방음벽 구조물의 구조성능 및 단면형상 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This research presents the structural performance and an improving technique for flexural capacity of road safety facilities based on the damage cases by wind pressure. Among road safety facilities, a support frame of soundproofing walls is considered as a prototype structure and its corresponding structural behaviors and section design are performed mainly by analytical and experimental studies. On the basis of analytical results, glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) with an epoxy matrix which is high stiffness-to-weight ratio was used for applied one of strengthening techniques and their results shows that support frame strengthened by GFRP is the most effective compared to other cases proposed in this research for advancing its flexural improvement, Finally, optimum section design was performed analytically to evaluate wind-resistance capacity and its result would be very useful for developing a practical design guideline for Road safety facilities under strong wind.

  • Hazardous and noxious substances (HNS) may cause maritime incidents during marine transportation, which are liable to lead to a large amount of spillage or discharge into the sea. The damage to the marine environment caused by the HNS spill or discharge is known to be much greater than the damage caused by oil spill. Particularly dangerous is HNS, which is deposited or buried in the seabed, as it can damage the organisms that live on, in, and near the bottom of the sea, the so-called "benthos," forming the benthic ecosystem. Therefore, it is vital that the HNS deposited on the seabed be recovered. In order to do so, procedures and equipment are required for accurate detection, stabilization treatment, and recovery of HNS in subsea sediment. Thus, when developing a mechanical recovery system, the performance requirements should be selected using performance indices, and the conceptual design of the mechanical recovery system should be based on performance requirements decided upon and selected in advance. Therefore, this study was conducted to arrive at a conceptual design for a mechanical recovery system for the recovery of HNS deposited on the seabed. In the design of the system, based on the fundamental scenario, the method of suction foundation with the function of self enclosing was adopted for recovering the HNS sediment in the subsea sediment. The mechanical recovery system comprises the suction foundation, pollution prevention, a pump system, control system, monitoring device, location information device, transfer device, and tanks. This conceptual design is expected to be reflected and used in the basic design of the components and shapes of the mechanical recovery system.

  • The study, considering the fact that most of the recently built atrium buildings do not fulfill their capacity of energy conservation and environmental control, aims to develop design strategies for architects in designing atrium buildings in terms of energy/environment standpoint. The research includes case studies of existing atrium buildings, quantatative analysis of energy performance for atrium buildings and systematic investigation of various aspects of atrium regarding its function of thermal, luminous and acoustical control of a building. The result of the study may contribute to the considerable reduction of energy consumption as well as to improvement of overall building environment.

  • In this paper, we analyzed standard and characteristic of portable microwave digital FPU(Field Pick Up) transmission system in AWGN channel environment as basis step of research about share way of M/W broadcasting relay frequency. And we analyzed system performance through simulator design. Domestic case, digitize progress about broadcasting relay is propeled. Therefore, we wish to utilize to basis data about interference evaluation and domestic broadcasting relay standardization for reassignment of M/W band broadcasting relay frequency.

  • 초고층 건축물의 급속한 증가는 건축물 화재 시 고층에서 보다 빨리 피난할 수 있는 구조적 피난설비를 요구한다. 기존의 구조용 완강기나 구조대는 고층에서는 피난자의 공포감을 충분히 해소하기에 역 부족이었다. 이러한 문제점을 보완한 성능을 갖추어 동시에 다수의 피난자를 대피시킬 수 있는 새로운 피난기구가 요구되고 있다. 이에 고층에서도 동시에 여러 사람이 안전하고, 신속하게 피난층까지 무사히 대피가 가능한 유압식 피난기구를 고안하고, 개략 설계하게 되었다. 이 연구를 기초로 향후 상세설계를 마친 후 고층 건축물에 적용되어 안전한 피난기구가 되었으면 한다.

  • 본 논문에서 설계한 802.11 MAC(Medium Access Control)은 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 통합 구조로 되어 있다. MAC에서 가장 빠르게 동작해야 하는 프레임 전송과 수신블록은 하드웨어로 설계를 하였고, 그 외에는 소프트웨어로 설계가 되었다. 하드웨어로 설계된 MAC은 802.11 표준문서에 포함된 SDL(Specification and Description Language)을 기초하여 설계하였으며, 성능 향상을 위하여 수신블록의 중복 프레임 검사를 수행하는 블록과 프레임을 분석하여 정보를 추출하는 블록을 SDL과 다르게 설계 하였다. 삼성 0.35공정 라이브러리를 이용하여 합성한 결과 3만 게이트의 크기를 갖으며, 최대 동작 주파수는 100MHz이다. 메모리는 47Kbits SRAM을 사용하였다. 실제동작의 검증에 앞서 Mentor Graphics사의 ModelSim을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 동작 검증은 Huins 사의 Altera Excalibur FPGA가 탑재된 XP8000 보드를 이용하여 이루어 졌다.

  • 본 논문은 CincoNet사의 Netxray 3.0.1을 통해 실시간 운영중인 동의대학교 종합 정보통신망(DEUNET)의 성능을 분석하고 평가한다. 기존의 네트워크 성능분석이 모의실험이나 트래픽 이론을 통해 분석한 경우가 대부분이므로, 실제 운영중인 네트워크의 성능과는 많은 차이가 날 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 수식적인 이론전개를 통한 성능 분석보다는 실제적인 측정을 통해 교내 망의 시간별 이용률과 사용하는 프로토콜의 현황과 트래픽 특성을 정성적으로 접근하였으며, 교내망인 동의대학교 종합정보통신망(DEUNET)을 모델로 삼았다. 이러한 분석방법은 네트워크의 설계와 증설 및 고장수리에 아주 중요한 기초자료로 사용될 것이다.

  • The ship's seakeeping performance in the pitching and roll motion was felt tired. These gives structural loads to loaded with cargo and hull facilities. Be to improve, small catamaran power yacht designed a data for ship research and ship's hull form to be decided. In this study, based on domestic release for coastal marine environment in the interpretation criteria were chosen based on the exercise performance. The seakeeping performance of marine leisure catamaran was based on voyage speed. The seakeeping performance estimates based on the encounter angle, the wave of the encounter frequency response amplitude ratio for exercise was assessed in the high performance area.

A Practical Analysis Method for the Design of Piled Raft Foundations (말뚝지지 전면기초의 설계를 위한 실용적 해석방법에 관한 연구)

  • Piled raft foundations have been highlighted as an economical design concept of pile foundations in recent years. However, piled raft foundations have not been widely used in Korea due to the difficulty in estimating the complex interaction effects among rafts, piles and soils. The authors developed an effective numerical program to analyze the behavior of piled raft foundations for practical design purposes and presented it briefly in this paper. The developed numerical program simulates the raft as a flexible plate consisting of finite elements with eight nodes and the raft is supported by a series of elastic springs representing subsoils and piles. This study imported another model to simulate pile groups considering non-linear behavior and interaction effects. The apparent stiffnesses of the soils and piles were estimated by iterative calculations to satisfy the compatibility between those two components and the behavior of piled raft foundations can be predicted using these stiffnesses. For the verification of the program, the analysis results about some example problems were compared with those of rigorous three dimensional finite element analysis and other approximate analysis methods. It was found that the program can analyze non-linear behaviors and interaction effects efficiently in multi-layered soils and has sufficient capabilities for application to practical analysis and design of piled raft foundations.

Traffic Modeling and Design of An All-Optical WDM Backbone Network in Korea (한국 실정에 맞는 트래픽 모델링 및 전광 WDM 기간망의 설계)

  • In order to support various multimedia communication services, a well balanced backbone network should be designed using recently advanced optical communication technologies. In this paper an optimal backbone network configuration design is presented fur Korean traffic environment. A new traffic model, Population-Distance-Gross Group Products(PDG) traffic model, is devised. In Korean network traffic environment, six regional centers are selected, link capacities between the regional centers are estimated from the PDG traffic model, and the overall network configuration is designed for the all-optical backbone network in Korea. A simulation study is carried out to verify the desired performance of the designed backbone network. Simulation results show that performance of the backbone network is well balanced to support various communication services in Korea in the 2000s.
