In this study, the table flow of fiber reinforced cement composites mixed with CNTs dispersed differently according to the dispersion method was evaluated. The mixture was composed of plain mixture according to the presence or absence of ultrasonic dispersion and PCE-based dispersants A and B of 0.5% and 1.0%, respectively, CNT was mixed with 0.03% of cement weight and fiber was mixed with 1.5% of total volume. As a result of the experiment, NC-A0.5 showed a fluidity similar to that of P without CNT. The fluidity of NC-A0.5 and P-N showed a similar tendency, which is considered to be due to the distribution of evenly dispersed CNT particles without agglomeration between cement particles due to the dispersant. NC-B0.5 showed a similar level of firmness to P-U, but after hitting 250 mm, B Agent seems to have a significant effect on liquidity improvement. Both NC-A1.0 and NC-B1.0 seem to have increased flow due to excessive dispersion.

Fiber is an important ingredient in strain-hardening cementitious composite (SHCC), which can control fracture of cementitious composite by bridging action. The properties of reinforcing fiber, as tensile strength, aspect ratio and elastic modulus, have great effect on the fracture behavior of SHCC. But SHCC has serious problem as drying shrinkage because silica powder is used to make SHCC in order to improve bond strength between reinforcing fibers and cement matrix. Therefore, curing method (period and temperature) is very important for SHCC to show high tensile performance. a variety of experiments have being performed to access the performance of SHCC recently. This research emphasis is on the mechanical properties of SHCC made in Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), Polyethylene (PE) fibers and steel cord (SC), and how curing method affects the composite property, and ultimately its strain-hardening performance.

High performance fiber reinforced cementitious composite (HPFRCC) can provide high fracture energy absorption as well as high strength with high fiber volume fraction. The increased fracture energy helps resisting high frequency loadings, such as earthquake, impact or blast. This study investigates the flexural performance of slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON), one of the important HPFRCC, with respect to varying fiber volume fraction. The maximum fiber volume fraction was 8.0 % and reduced to 6.0% by 0.5% and the maximum volume fraction is obtained by packing fibers with simple tapping by hands. The used fiber was a steel fiber with the length 30 mm and the diameter of 0.5 mm. The flexural strengths were 48.7 MPa at 8.0 % and 22.8 MPa at 6.0 %. The measured flexural strength is much higher compared to other cememtitious composite materials but decreased proportional to the fractions. This result implies that for SIFCON considered herein the reduced amount of steel fibers may affect its flexural performance in a negatively way. The flexural toughness, an index to represent the fracture energy absorption, also decreased with the reduced fiber amount.

HPFRCCs (high-performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites), which is relatively more ductile and has the characteristic of high toughness with high fiber volume fractions, can be used in structures subjected to extreme loads and exposed to durability problems. In the case of PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) fiber, it is noted by former studies that around 2% fiber volume fractions contributes to the most effective performance at HPFRCCs. In this study, flexural tests were carried out to evaluate the flexural behavior of HPFRCCs and to optimize mix proportions. Two sets of hybrid fiber reinforced high performance specimens with total fiber volume fraction of 2 % were tested: the first set prepared by addition of short and long PVA fibers at different combination of fiber volume fractions, and the second set by addition of steel. In addition, in order to assess the performances of the HPFRCCs against to high strain rates, drop weight tests were conducted. Lastly, the sprayed FRP was applied on the bottom surface of specimens to compare their impact responses with non-reinforcing specimens. The experimental results showed that the specimen prepared with 1.6% short fibers (REC 15) and 0.4% long fiber (RF4000) outperformed the other specimens under flexure, and impact loading.
Cement has been traditionally used as a main binding material of high ductile fiber reinforced cementitious composites. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of using alkali-activated slag and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers for manufacturing high ductile fiber reinforced cementless composites. Two mixture proportions with proper flowability and mortar viscosity for easy fiber mixing and uniform fiber dispersion were selected based on alkali activators. Then, the slump flow, compression, uniaxial tension and bending tests were performed on the mixes to evaluate the basic properties of the composites. The cementless composites showed an average slump flow of 465 mm and tensile strain capacity of approximately 2% of due to formation of multiple micro-cracks. Test results demonstrated a feasibility of manufacturing high ductile fiber reinforced composites without using cement.

The objective of the study is to examine the characteristic correlations between reinforcing carbon fiber and interfacial adhesion agent since the interfacial adhesion strength between reinforcing carbon fiber and matrices is believed to be an essential element influencing the physical properties in carbon fiber reinforced cement composite using slurry method. The integrity of interfacial adhesion between reinforcing fiber and cement not only affects the quality of fiber reinforced cement composite but also influences to a large degree the physical properties of the cement composite when producing carbon fiber reinforced cement composite using slurry method. Having analyzed the physical properties 1.e., water content, tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness of carbon fiber reinforced cement composite specimens, C-PAM(cation polyacrylamide) was determined to be an optimum interfacial adhesion agent. The study has also demonstrated that interfacial adhesion strength varies largely on the content and type of the reinforcing fiber. Judging from magnified view of the tensile shear cross-section using VMS(video microscope system), interfacial adhesion strength between reinforcing fiber and matrices is affected by the type of interfacial adhesion agent. According to the result of the experiments, C-PAM was determined to be an ideal interfacial adhesion agent when using carbon fiber in producing carbon fiber reinforced cement composite with the optimum content of carbon fiber being established.

In this study, the fiber blending ratio and strain rate effect on the tensile properties synergy effect of hybrid fiber reinforced cement composite was evaluated. Hooked steel fiber(HSF) and smooth steel fiber(SSF) were used for reinforcing fiber. The fiber blending ratio of HSF+SSF were 1.5+0.5, 1.0+1.0 and 0.5+1.5vol.%. As a results, in the cement composite(HSF2.0) reinforced with HSF, as the strain rate increases, the tensile stress sharply decreased after the peak stress because of the decrease in the number of straightened pull-out fibers by increase of micro cracks in the matrix around HSF. When 0.5 vol.% of SSF was mixed, the micro cracks was effectively controlled at the static rate, but it was not effective in controlling micro cracks and improving the pull-out resistance of HSF at the high rate. On the other hand, the specimen(HSF1.0SSF1.0) in which 1.0vol.% HSF and 1.0vol.% SSF were mixed, each fibers controls against micro and macro cracks, and SSF improves the pull-out resistance of HSF effectively. Thus, the fiber blending effect of the strain capacity and energy absorption capacity was significantly increased at the high rate, and it showed the highest dynamic increase factor of the tensile strength, strain capacity and peak toughness. On the other hand, the incorporation of 1.5 vol.% SSF increases the number of fibers in the matrix and improves the pull-out resistance of HSF, resulting in the highest fiber blending effect of tensile strength and softening toughness. But as a low volume fraction of HSF which controlling macro crack, it was not effective for synergy of strain capacity and peak toughness.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the effect of type and volume fraction of fiber on the electrical conductivity and shielding effectiveness of cementitious composites. The large specific surface area of amorphous metallic fiber, as well as the high number of fibers per unit weight, provided an advantage in the formation of conductive path. As the result, the electrical conductivity of amorphous metallic fiber was evaluated to be higher, and the shielding effectiveness was also higher. However, the shielding effectiveness according to electrical conductivity was confirmed to have a threshold point, and further research is needed to improve it.

In this study, the fiber blending ratio and strain rate effect on the tensile behavior of hybrid fiber reinforced cement composite was evaluated. Hooked steel fiber and polyvinyl alcohol fiber were used for reinforcing fiber. The fiber blending ratio of HSF+PVA were 1.5+0.5, 1.0+1.0 and 0.5+1.5vol.%. As a results, the tensile strength, strain capacity and fracture toughness of the hooked steel fiber reinforced cement composites were improved by the increase of the bond strength of the fiber and the matrix according to increase of strain rate. However, the tensile stress sharply decreased after the peak stress because of the decrease in the number of straightened pull-out fibers by micro cracks in the matrix around hooked steel fiber. On the other hand, PVA fiber showed cut-off fracture at strain rate $10^{-6}/s$ with multiple cracks. However, at the strain rate $10^1/s$, the multiple cracks and strain capacity were decreased because of the pull-out fracture of PVA fiber. The HSF1.5PVA0.5 shown the highest tensile strength because the PVA fiber suppressed the micro cracks in the matrix around the hooked steel fiber and improved the pull-out resistance of hooked steel fiber. Thus, DIF of strain capacity and fracture toughness of HSF1.5PVA were greatly improved. In addition, the synergistic response of fracture toughness was positive because the tensile stress was slowly decreased after the peak stress by improvement of the pull-out resistance of hooked steel fiber at strain rate $10^1/s$.
