A Fault Detection System Design for Nuclear Steam Generator Level Control System (원전 증기발생기 수위제어계통의 고장검출 시스템 설계)

  • This paper deals with a fault detection system design for nuclear steam generator water level control system. We expressed the nonlinear properties of the steam generator level system as a T-S fuzzy system with time varying uncertain parameters. We design a residual generator using a left coprime factorization of the T-S fuzzy model and a fault detection filter in order to improve the fault detection performance. We demonstrate the efficiency of the suggested design method via many computer simulations.

  • Acoustical characteristics of internal pipe structures and a loudspeaker of the thermoacoustic refrigerator are analyzed by using the transfer matrix method. The resonator system is dismantled into verious basic acoustic elements, and then linearized transfer matrices are serially combined with the dynamical system of linearized loudspeaker model, that the total system of thermoacoustic refrigerator can be analyzed in terms of frequency characteristics and acoustic field shape. Additionally, by using equations for energy flow through the capillary stack, the temperature distribution over the stack is numerically estimated. After expressing the acoustic work flow, thermoacoustic flow, and energy loss per unit length in a single capillary duct by using the transverse functional variations, overall energy flow rate and energy balance are obtained for the whole capillary stack. The final expression for energy flow through the stack is numerically evaluated by varying physical parameters obtained from the sound field analysis. After confirming good agreements between predicted and experimental results for the interior sound field of a refrigerator model, the thermoacoustic characteristics of Hofler's apparatus is analyzed by the proposed method and it is observed that the results agree well with Hofler's experimental results.

Performance Analysis of a Receiver for WCDMA Systems (광대역 코드분할 다중화 시스템 수신기의 성능 분석)

  • As a new type of a linear decorrelating receiver, the Pseudo-Decorrelator was presented for asynchronous code division multiple access systems by the author. In this paper, the concept of the Pseudo-Decorrelator is extended to derive a receiver for WCDMA uplink systems over an additive white Gaussian noise channel. Starting with the analysis of the multiple access components of the decision statistics, a non-square cross-correlation matrix for each bit is obtained. This cross-correlation matrix is then inverted, and the inverted matrix is applied to the decision statistics obtained from a conventional receiver. In this receiver, the detection process can be started after the first three consecutive bits are received. Simulation results are presented for K-user systems over an additive white Gaussian noise channel under the circumstances in which synchronization errors, including time delay errors and carrier phase errors exist. It is shown that the proposed receiver performs better than a conventional receiver and parallel interference canceller.

  • This paper describes the synthesis of robust and non-fragile H$\infty$ state feedback controllers for linear varying systems with affine parameter uncertainties, and static state feedback controller with structured uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of robust and non-fragile H$\infty$ static state feedback controller, and the set of controllers which satisfies non-fragility are presented. The obtained condition can be rewritten as parameterized Linear Matrix Inequalities(PLMls), that is, LMIs whose coefficients are functions of a parameter confined to a compact set. However, in contrast to LMIs, PLMIs feasibility problems involve infinitely many LMIs hence are inherently difficult to solve numerically. Therefore PLMls are transformed into standard LMI problems using relaxation techniques relying on separated convexity concepts. We show that the resulting controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop system in spite of controller gain variations within a degree.

  • The LM algorithm is used in solving the least square problem in a non linear system, and is used in various fields. However, in cases the applied field's target functionis complicated and high-dimensional, it takes a lot of time solving the inner matrix and vector operations. In such cases, the LM algorithm is unsuitable in embedded environment and requires a hardware accelerator. In this paper, we implemented the LM algorithm in hardware. In the implementation, we used pipeline stages to divide the target function operation, and reduced the period of data input of the matrix and vector operations in order to accelerate the speed. To measure the performance of the implemented hardware, we applied the refining fundamental matrix(RFM), which is a part of 3D reconstruction application. As a result, the implemented system showed similar performance compared to software, and the execution speed increased in a product of 74.3.

Design of High-Speed 2-D State-Space Digital Filters Based on a Improved Branch-and-Bound Algorithm (개량된 분기한정법에 의한 고속연산 2차원 상태공간 디지털필터의 설계)

  • This paper presents an efficient design method of 2-D state-space digital filter based on an improved branch-and -bound algorithm. The resultant 2-D state-space digital filters whose coefficients are represented as the sum of two power-of-two terms, are attractive for high-speed operation and simple implementation. The feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated by several experiments. The results show that the approximation error and group delay characteristic of the resultant filters are similar to those of the digital filters which designed in the continuous coefficient space.

  • 본 논문은 시간 변동 시간 지연을 가지는 선형 Neutral 시스템에 관한 관측기 설계에 대해서 논의한다. 시간 지연을 가지는 시스템의 안정도를 판별하기 위하여 Lyapunov-Krasovskii의 이론을 도입한다. 시스템의 안정도를 위한 조건으로 시간 변동 시간 지연에 종속적인 충분조건을 제시한다. 선형 행렬 부등식을 이용하여 관측기의 이득값을 설계하며, 오차 상태 방정식의 안정도를 판별한다. 본 논문의 결과는 Luenberger가 제안한 관측기의 일반적인 결과를 나타낸다. 모의실험을 통해 논문의 결과를 입증하였다.

  • The design cycle associated with large engineering systems requires an initial decomposition of the complex system into design processes which are coupled through the transference of output data. Some of these design processes may be grouped into iterative subcycles. In analyzing or optimizing such a coupled system, it is essential to determine the best order of the processes within these subcycles to reduce design cycle time and cost. This is accomplished by decomposing large multidisciplinary problems into several multidisciplinary analysis subsystems (MDASS) and processing it in parallel. This paper proposes new strategy for parallel decomposition of multidisciplinary problems to improve design efficiency by using the multiple objective genetic algorithm (MOGA), and a sample test case is presented to show the effects of optimizing the sequence with MOGA.

  • 본 논문은 심도각 범위를 고려한 무인 잠수정(autonomous underwater vehicles: AUVs)의 타카키-수게노 (Takagi-Sugeno: T-S) 퍼지 모델 기반 강인 심도 제어기의 설계 기법을 제안한다. 무인 잠수정의 비선형 시스템은 Sector nonlinearity 기법을 이용하여 T-S 퍼지 시스템으로 모델링된다. 리아푸노프(Lyapunov) 함수를 이용하여 무인 잠수정의 성능을 보장하는 선형 행렬 부등식(Linear matrix inequality: LMI) 형태의 강인 제어기 설계 조건은 유도된다. 또한 무인 잠수정의 심도각 범위를 고려하여 입력 및 출력에 제한 조건을 포함한다. 모의 실험을 통해 제안된 기법의 심도 제어 성능을 검증한다.

  • 본 논문은 연속 시간과 이산 시간에서의 스위칭 모드 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기의 새로운 설계 기법에 대해서 논의한다. 스위칭 모드 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기의 설계에는 Takagi-Sugeno(75) 퍼지 시스템이 사용된다. 이 스위칭 모드 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기는 "정복-분할(divide and conquer)"이라는 하향식 접근 방식을 이용한다. 이 방법은 여러 개의 규칙을 가지고 있는 시스템에서 유한의 하위 시스템으로 시스템을 분할하여 각각의 부분 해를 구하고 이들을 결합하여 전체 시스템의 해를 구하는 방법이다. 제어기의 설계 조건은 주어진 75 퍼지 시스템의 안정화를 보장하는 선형 행렬 부등식들(LMls)에 의해 결정된다. 적절한 시뮬레이션 예제를 통한 성능 비교를 통해 본 논문의 우수성을 입증한다.
