A Study on the Possibility of Place Marketing in Railway (철도 부분의 장소 마케팅 도입 가능성 검토)

  • Place Marketing is a new strategy for the regional development, using the regional image, facility and history. The purpose of this paper is to search the possibility of place marketing in the area of railway. Already there were some cases to vitalize the close line and out-of-business station. In this context, some ideas to connect the railway with trip, leisure and regional festival are recommended. For the market place, the cooperation with local government is essential.

Recognition of Toilet Terms and Pictograms by Elders Living in Seoul and Incheon (경인지역 노인의 화장실 용어와 그림문자 인식)

  • Purpose: The aim of the present study was to investigate toilet terms and pictograms recognized by elders living in Seoul and Incheon. Method: Data were collected from 308 elders by individual interviews using questionnaires. Result: As for the name of places for elimination, those elders responded Hwajangsil 88.3%, followed by Byeonso 49.3% and Dwitgan 44.4%. Most elders preferred Hwajangsil as the term indicating the place for elimination. The mean age of the group preferred Bunso was significantly higher than that of the group preferred Hwajangsil, whereas educational level was higher in the latter group. Of the 256 respondents, 55% preferred the pictogram of international toilet sign, while 34.8% preferred the pictogram of toilet stool. Those with no formal education tended to prefer the pictogram of toilet stool. Conclusion: The term Hwajangsil is suggested for indicating toilet for elders in general. Other terms familiar with residents need to be investigated in the facilities for elders and those terms should be used in combination with Hwajangsil. English toilet signs alone are not recommended for elders. Simple pictograms of toilet stool is suggested for elders with low educational level. Toilet signs for elders need to include both terms and pictograms.

A Study on Recommendation Systems based on User multi-attribute attitude models and Collaborative filtering Algorithm (다속성 태도 모델과 협업적 필터링 기반 장소 추천 연구)

  • For a place-recommendation model based on user's behavior and multi-attribute attitude in this thesis. We focus groups that show similar patterns of visiting restaurants and then compare one and the other. We make use of The Fishbein Equation, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient to calculate multi-attribute attitude scores. Furthermore, We also make use of Preference Prediction Algorithm and Distance based method named "Euclidean Distance" to provide accurate results. We can demonstrate how excellent this system is through several experiments carried out with actual data.

  • In LBSNS(Location-based Social Network Service), users can share locations and communicate with others by using check-in data. The check-in data consists of POI name, category, coordinate and address of locations, nickname of users, evaluating grade of locations, related article/photo/video, and etc. If you analyze the check-in data from the location-based social network service in accordance with your situation, you can provide various customized services. Therefore, In this paper, we develop a location recommendation system based on LBSNS that can utilize the check-in data efficiently. This system analyzes the location category of the check-in data, determines the weighted value of it, and finds out the similarity between users by using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Also, it obtains the preference score of recommended locations by using the collaborated filtering algorithm and then, finds out the distance score by applying the Euclidean's algorithm to the recommended locations and the current users' locations. Finally, it recommends appropriate locations by applying the weighted value to the preference score and the distance score. In addition, this paper approved excellence of the proposed system throughout the experiment using real data.

Secondary School Students' Perceptions of School Spaces: What They Like and Dislike (중·고등학생의 호·불호 학교공간 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to identify secondary school students' perceptions of school spaces by researching their place preferences and the reasons for them. For the purpose, we analyzed students' written statements regarding places they like and dislike at school, which were collected from 836 middle and 1,100 high school students enrolled at 4 middle and 4 high schools, respectively. Data were transcribed, encoded, and analyzed so as to be clustered to themes revealing the students' senses of places at school. The results are as follows: (1) for middle school students, the most preferred places had to do with physical activities, including playground, auditorium, gymnasium etc., whereas high school students preferred indoor places such as classrooms; (2) the reasons for like-places were categorized into three themes: functions (physical, social, learning, and everyday activities), emotions (belonging, healing, and aesthetics), and physical characteristics; (3) both middle and high school students regarded restroom as the place that they disliked most; (4) the reasons for dislike-places included physical conditions, atmosphere, person-related, subject-related, and circumstances such as the happening of violence or punishment. These may provide educators, parents, school architects and administrators with practical considerations needed for making school a better place for students at secondary schools.

  • In this paper, we propose a user-dependent mid-point navigation system using a time weighted mid-point navigation algorithm and a user preference based mid-point neighborhood recommendation system. The proposed system consists of a mid-point navigation module for calculating an mid-point by applying a time weight of each user based on a departure point between users, and a search module for providing a search for a route to the calculated mid-point. In addition, based on the mid-point search result, it is possible to increase the utilization rate of users by including a place recommending function based on user's preference. Experimental results show that the proposed system can increase the efficiency of using by the user-dependent mid-point navigation and place recommendation function.

A Structural Relationship between Place Attachment and Environmental Factor to Temple Forest Trail in Gyeongju National Park (경주국립공원 사찰숲길에 있어 장소애착과 환경요인의 구조적 관계)

  • The aim of this study is to explore the structural relationship between recognition to environmental factor and place attachment of the users of temple forest trail in Gyeongju National Park, and to suggest political implications on conservation management of National Park from the viewpoint of landscape attachment. Survey with a structured questionnaire was implemented to visitors to the Bulkuksa, a representative temple in Geyongju National Park. Structural equation model was developed from the analysis of collected data. Results showed that place dependence positively affected place attachment in significance, whereas place identity did not significantly affect place attachment. Place attachment was affected rather by place dependence(path coefficient=0.55). Place attachment positively affected the recognition of environmental factors in significance. Landscape use factors compared to facility use factors were affected rather by place attachment(path coefficient=1.01). This result verified the importance of landscape factors of National Park, and suggested a management plan focused on the landscape conservation of forest trail of traditional temple.

The Effect of Green Foundation on the Visual Preference (시각적 선호에 있어서 Green Foundation의 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study is purposed to investigate the role of grasses as the Green Foundation effect on the visual preference to flowering tree and shrub being the principal elements of natural landscape early in the spring. As the flowering shrub materials, Rhododendron mucronulatum and Forsythia Kreana were adopted. Total 48 slides were photographed at the 8 different lawn areas with the 6 planting combinations of flowering shrub materials, and 10 landscape variables - dimensional and color - were measured and preference scores were taken by slide evaluations. The results were : 1) The visual preference to the landscape of flowering shrub in the lawn area was changed with the different lawn situations. 2) With important 4 variables, multilinear regression model was established, hence Y =40.4 + 9.6($X_1$) -7.8($X_2$) -26.8($X_3$) + 15.2($X_4$) where, Y : estimated preference score $X_1$: perimeter of flower zone $X_2$: value of green covered zone $X_3$: hue of green covered zone $X_4$: chroma of green covered zone 3) Most effective variable was 'hue of green covered zone', hence the more green the lawn area ism the more preferred landscape or the more effective green foundation is.

  • DB로부터 위치 데이터를 추출해오면, location visiting measure를 통해 한 개인의 장소 방문 선호도를 측정한다. 이 과정에서 위치 데이터 클러스터링 및 개인의 이동성 파악을 위한 6가지 조치를 한다. 위치 데이터 분석 결과로 얻은 이동성 통계는 LBS(Location Based System)를 포함한 다양한 분야에 적용될 수 있다. 연구의 최종 목표는 새로운 위치 데이터의 수집에 따른 방문 선호도 변화를 적용할 수 있도록 하는 location visiting measure의 자동화 시스템을 구축하는 것이다.

  • 데이터 베이스에 저장된 사용자의 위치, 성격정보를 자동으로 받아서 머신러닝으로 회귀분석하여 방문 장소에 대한 선호도를 예측한다. 사람의 성격 요소로는 BFF 와 다른 기본 요소들을 사용하였다. 이를 위하여 자동화된 시스템을 구성하였고 위치 방문 선호도를 예측하기 위한 머신러닝 기법으로는 앙상블기법을 사용하였다. 예측 결과는 장소 카테고리별로 방문 선호도가 나타나고 이를 사용자 별로 나누어 저장할 예정이다. 데이터의 양이 많아지면서 나타나는 문제들을 해결하여 향후 연구에 도움이 될 것이다.
