Improving Estimation Ability of Software Development Effort Using Principle Component Analysis (주성분분석을 이용한 소프트웨어 개발노력 추정능력 향상)

  • Putnam develops SLIM (Software LIfecycle Management) model based upon the assumption that the manpower utilization during software project development is followed by a Rayleigh distribution. To obtain the manpower distribution, we have to be estimate the total development effort and difficulty ratio parameter. We need a way to accurately estimate these parameters early in the requirements and specification phase before investment decisions have to be made. Statistical tests show that system attributes are highly correlation (redundant) so that Putnam discards one and get a parameter estimator from the other attributes. But, different statistical method has different system attributes and presents different performance. To select the principle system attributes, this paper uses the principle component analysis (PCA) instead of Putnam's method. The PCA's results improve a 9.85 percent performance more than the Putnam's result. Also, this model seems to be simple and easily realize.

A Selective Determination Method of Inorganic and Organic Mercury (무기수은과 유기수은의 선택정량)

  • A method of selective determination of inorganic and organic mercury compounds has been described. The $CHCl_3$ solution of a high molecular quaternary alkylammonium salt, Aliquat 336 was used for the simultaneous preconcentration of both inorganic, $Hg^{2+}$ as its thiocyanate complex, and organic mercury compounds, $CH_3HgCl$ and $C_2H_3O_2$ $HgC_6H_5$ by extraction from their aqueous solution. Selective separation of the inorganic mercury from the extract was followed by stripping with 3 M $HClO_4 $ solution for the subsequent determination by CVAAS. Organic mercury was also determined by CVAAS after removal of $CHCl_3solvent$ from the extract and decomposition of the residue with 4% $KMnO_4 $-1 MH_2$S0_4$. The mixtures of inorganic and organic mercury compounds contained 1.0 $\mug$ as Hg in 50 mL of sample solution(0.02 ${\mu}gHg/mL$) were analysed within ${\pm}6%$ by absolute errors.

  • The use of shield TBM is gradually increasing due to the urbanization of social infrastructures. Reliable estimation of advance rate is very important for accurate construction period and cost. For this purpose, it is required to develop the prediction model of advance rate that can consider the ground properties reasonably. Based on the database collected from field, statistical prediction procedure for field penetration index (FPI) was modularized in this study to calculate penetration rate of shield TBM. As output parameter, FPI was selected and various systems were included in this module such as, procedure of eliminating abnormal dataset, preprocessing of dataset and ridge regression with best subset selection. And it was finally validated by using field dataset.

Effect of Guessing on the Correct Answer in a Multiple Choice (객관식 선다형문항에서 추측이 정답에 미치는 영향)

  • Various items were used as evaluation tools that identify the student's abilities accurately to confirm the completion of learning. Among them, the multiple choice item has the advantages of high objectivity and reliability in scoring, but it cannot remove the factor of guessing. In this paper, the multiple choice items are classified into two types according to the relationship between the questionnaire and the choices. One is the type used in the classical test theory with the probability of guessing 1/k for k choices and the other is the novel proposed type which introduces the concept of partial knowledge. In the proposed type, the probability of guessing when the number of knowledge i is (i+1)/k for k choices. Based on the assumptions of the previous theories about multiple choice items, we derive the guessing parameter about the proposed type. And we analyzed the effect of the guess on the correct answer in the existing type and the proposed type. This shows that the proposed type has more question guessing than the existing type.

  • Production of chiral phenyl oxirane by Rhodosporidium toruloides SJ-4 was investigated. Racemic phenyl oxirane was kinetically resolved by enantioselective hydrolysis reaction by epoxide hydrolase of R. toruloides in two-phase hollow-fiber reactor system. Dodecane with high concentration of the racemic substrate passed through the lumen side and cell suspension was recirculated through the shell side of the hollow fiber reactor For the removal of phenyl-1, 2-ethandiol to reduce the product inhibition to biocatalysts, another hollow-fiber reactor was employed to extract the diol. Racemic phenyl oxirane up to 300 mM was enantioselectively resolved with high enantiopurity (>99% ee) in hollow-fiber reactor system.

Study on Synthesis of Dimethyl Ether Using Silica Membrane Reactor (Silica막 반응기를 이용한 Dimethyl Ether 합성에 관한 연구)

  • Water selective silica membranes were prepared fur use as membrane reactor for synthesis of dimethyl ether (DME) by methanol dehydration. Silica membranes formed on a Porous SUS tube by ultrasonic spray Pyrolysis (USP) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as precursor. The CVD-derived membranes formed higher level of trade-off line between water permeance and water/methanol selectivity than that of the USP-derived membranes. The membrane reactor possessing water permeance of $1.2\times10^{-7}\;mol\;{\cdot}\;m^{-2}\;{\cdot}\;S^{-1}\;{\cdot}\;Pa^{-1}$ and water/methanol selectivity of 10 exhibited increase in methanol conversion of about $20\%$ comparing to conventional reactor system. These findings led us to conclude that the dehydration membrane reactor simultaneously separating the water vapour produced in the reaction zone was effective in increasing the reaction conversion.

  • To reduce the area and power consumption in constant coefficient multiplications, the constant coefficient can be encoded using canonic signed digit(CSD) representation. When the partial product terms are added depending on the nonzero bit(1 or -1) positions in the CSD-encoded multiplier, all sign bits are properly extended before the addition takes place. In this paper, to reduce the overhead due to sign extension, a new method is proposed based on the fact that carry propagation in the sign extension part can be controlled such that a desired input bit can be propagated as a carry. Also, a fixed-width multiplier design method suitable for CSD multiplication is proposed. As an application, 43-tap filbert transformer for SSB/BPSK-DS/CDMA is implemented. It is shown that, about 16∼28% adders can be saved by the proposed method compared with the conventional methods.

Performance and Operational Characteristics of Natural Gas Fuel Processor for 1kW Class PEMFCs (1kW급 고분자 연료전지용 통합형 천연가스 개질 수소 제조 시스템의 성능 및 운전 특성)

  • 한국에너지기술연구원에서는 가정용 고분자연료전지 열병합 발전시스템을 위한 통합형 천연가스 연료처리 시스템을 개발해 왔다. 가정용 시스템으로서 필수적인 소형화와 고효율을 현실화하기 위해, 연료처리 시스템의 각 단위 공정 즉 수증기 개질, 수성가스 전이, 선택적 산화 공정 등을 이중 동 심관형 반응기에 통합하여 상호 열교환이 용이하도록 반응기를 설계하였다. 현재 시험 운전 중인 Prototype-I 연료 처리 시스템은 1kW급 고분자 연료전지 열병합 발전 시스템에 개질 가스를 공급하기 위해 설계되었으며, 기초 성능은 정격 부하 운전시 열효율 78% (HHV 기준), 메탄 전환율 91%이다. 개질 가스 내 일산화탄소 농도는 고분자 연료전지 전극의 피독을 피하기 위해 10ppm 이하로 유지되어야 하며, Prototype-I 연료 처리 시스템은 백금과 루테늄 촉매를 적용한 선택적 산화 반응기를 통해 개질 가스 내 일산화탄소 농도를 10ppm 이하로 제거하였다. 일반 가정에서는 고분자 연료전지 시스템의 부하 변동이 예상되기 때문에 연료 처리 시스템의 부하 변동 운전 특성도 살펴보았다 정격 부하에서 80%, 60%, 40%로 부하를 변동하며 운전하였고, 각 부하에서 안정한 메탄 전환율과 10ppm이하의 일산화탄소 농도를 보였다. 80%까지는 열효율이 77%로 큰 변화를 보이지 않았으며, 60%에서는 76%, 40%에서는 72%로 열효율이 감소하는 현상을 보였다 연료 처리 시스템의 일일 시동-정지 운전시 내구성을 테스트 중이다. 현재까지 50여회의 일일-시동 정지를 시도하였다 시동 후 약 세 시간가량의 정력 부하 운전을 실시한 후 부하 변동을 실시하였고, 총 운전 시간 8시간 정도 운전한 후 시스템을 정지하였다 메탄 전환율과 일산화 탄소 농도, 열효율을 모니터링 하고 있으며, 현재까지 초기 성능을 그대로 유지하고 있다. 앞으로 일일시동-정지 운전 시험을 지속하면서 초기 시동 특성 및 부하 변동에 따른 응답 특성 개선, 그리고 연료전지와의 연계 운전을 실시할 예정이다

  • Real-time traffic data are readily obtainable by traffic surveillance systems of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Such data greatly support further applications in the field of traffic operations, planning, and safety. However, traffic data should be appropriately processed to fully exploit the benefits of data collection capability. Rather than developing individual data processing techniques, which is major concern of existing studies, this study proposes a novel methodology for evaluating data processing techniques in an integrated manner. Also, a tool for implementing the proposed methodology is developed. Users can extract useful and more reliable traffic data based upon their ultimate purpose of data usage by the evaluation tool developed in this study. Actual freeway traffic data are, as an example, fed into the evaluation tool, and results are discussed.

Feature selection and Classification of Heart attack Using NEWFM of Neural Network (뉴럴네트워크(NEWFM)를 이용한 심근경색의 특징추출과 분류)

  • Recently heart attack is 80% of the sudden death of elderly. The causes of a heart attack are complex and sudden, and it is difficult to predict the onset even if prevention or medical examination is performed. Therefore, early diagnosis and proper treatment are the most important. In this paper, we show the accuracy of normal and abnormal classification with neural network using weighted fuzzy function for accurate and rapid diagnosis of myocardial infarction. The data used in the experiment was data from the UCI Machine Learning Repository, which consists of 14 features and 303 sample data. The algorithm for feature selection uses the average of weight method. Two features were selected and removed. Heart attack was classified into normal and abnormal(1-normal, 2-abnormal) using the average of weight method. The test result for the diagnosis of heart attack using a weighted fuzzy neural network showed 87.66% accuracy.
