  • 선박에서 사용되는 네트워크 장치를 통합하여 통신 인프라를 구축하고 이를 운용 및 제어 하는 기술 SAN(SAN : Ship Area Network ) 은 국내외 조선 산업계 동향에 따라 그 필요성이 점차 높아지고 있다. 이에 본 논문 에서는 선박 통신 인프라를 운용 및 제어하는 데이터 통신 프로토콜 체계를 정의한 표준 IEC-61162-410 을 분석 하고 표준 관련 사항들을 기반으로 선박 네트워크 장치를 실시간 관리 하고 선박 네트워크 시스템간의 통신을 제어 및 관리 하여 안전하고 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송을 제공 하는 프로토콜 기법을 제안 하였다.

  • In vessels, various communication systems are now working with different vendor-specific ways, which are apt to cause the inter-operability problems. That, of course, leads to needs of standardization of communication network systems for vessels. The e-navigation system introduced by IMO also takes the standardization process as expected. In this paper, a 4S multiple media communication switching server for seamless communications among existing media for vessels is introduced, and the development of a information exchange software for the sever and its functionality verification results are presented as well.

  • This paper presents implementation of embedded remote monitoring diagnosis system which has effective wireless channel structure and communication protocols with user-friendly UI for intelligent digital vessel. Developed system contains integrated vessel monitoring system, server, exclusive mobile terminal and smart phone. We designed an effective dual structure communication channel and simple but effective communication protocol on the monitoring system. Failures of the wireless communication are minimized and the wrong wireless communication channel is immediately replaced. In addition, we developed an effective embedded Linux UI for LCD. The implemented wireless monitoring system was tested and verified on digital vessel.

  • The current marine communication networks are usually composed of NMEA0183, NMEA2000, and MiTS protocols which are located on the physical layer based on RS-422, RS-485, CAN, and EtherNet. This paper proposes a new bridge based on the DC power line communication technique supported from the NMEA0183 to design inside marine systems.

  • This letter considers a ship-to-ship communication system in which two ships exchange their information with the help of multiple relay ships. For the system, we propose a novel relay scheme that allows relay ships to select a method between analog network coding (ANC) and digital network coding (DNC) adaptively based on channel state information. We also provide a relay selection criterion in supporting the proposed adaptive network coding. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme employing only the ANC or only the DNC.

  • A universal shipborne automatic identification system(AIS) uses self-organised time division multiple access(SOTDMA). The performance evaluation system of the SOTDMA algorithm for AIS is needed to implement it efficiently. This paper shows the method of designing it. Real ships access the VHF maritime mobile band but in this performance system, several ship objects access the shared memory. Real ships are designed as the object and the wireless communication channel is designed as the shared memory. This system shows several stations are assigned the transmission slot by the SOTDMA algorithm

  • A novel approach to solve signal variation due to ship rocking in maritime wireless communication is introduced. We assume a ship-to-shore based communication scenario, where the transmitter is on shore and the receiver on the ship. Due to the ocean conditions, such as the presence of waves and wind etc. the ship is not stable and constantly experiences some form of rocking motion. This rocking motion causes the antenna on the ship to sway, creating instability in the signal reception. We envisage that the signal is offset at the receiver incurring high Bit Error Rate. This paper is to investigate and counter this problem by using Multiple-input Multiple-output (MIMO) technique. We propose to implement beamforming technique with multiple transmit antennas. The implementation of this proposed method crafts a robust maritime communication network.

  • 자율운항 선박의 모니터링을 위한 데이터는 센서신호와 같은 텍스트 형태의 데이터와 이미지와 같은 바이너리 데이터로 나눌수 있다. 선박의 위성 통신환경 특성상 네트워크 속도 및 대역폭이 제한적이므로, 효율적인 전송 방법이 필요하며, 이를 위해서는 고용량의 이미지 데이터를 수집하고 처리하는 과정의 분석과 실제 선박의 데이터 분석이 필요하였다. 이를 토대로 선박의 통신환경을 분석하고 개선방향을 모색하고자 하였다.

  • Currently, the drone is considered as a mobile base station of USN as a method to act as a base station using USN in existing LTE-M and LTE networks for data transmission in unmanned ships. Therefore, the drone, which is a mobile base station, is a sink node equipped with an LTE modem or a short-range communication modem, and can collect safety information of ship operation from the sensor node and transmit the safety information to the ship or transmit the information between the ships. As, if a short-range network is formed by using drones, it will form a communication network around unmanned ships and will be advantageous for collecting information using security and environmental sensors. In this paper, we propose a method to transmit environmental sensor data and to utilize communication between ships using drones to secure the surrounding information necessary for AI operation of unmanned ships in the future.

  • 항로표지(Aids to Navigation)란 빛, 형상, 색채, 전파, 음향 등으로 안전한 항로를 표시하여 선박 항행의 안전성을 확보하기 위하여 인위적으로 설치하는 시설이다. 특히, 등대(Lighthouse)는 항로표지 중 가장 중요한 것으로 선박이 육지나 주요 변침점(Turning Point) 또는 선박 위치를 확인하기 위하여 연안에 설치하거나 항만의 소재, 항구 등을 나타내기 위하여 설치한 구조물이다. 본 논문에서는 선박의 입ㆍ출항에 관련하여 선박의 안전을 위해서 설치되어 있는 등대의 효율적인 관리 및 운영을 위한 등대 동기 제어 시스템의 개발에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위해서, 등대 동기 제어 시스템은 하드웨어(컨트롤 박스)와 소프트웨어(제어 프로그램)로 나누어 구성하였다. 하드웨어 모듈은 등대와 선박의 입ㆍ출항에 관한 업무를 담당하는 관제소 사이의 인터페이스를 제공한다. 즉, 등대의 점멸등 제어를 위한 제어부와 등대와 관리 시스템사이의 데이터 전송을 위한 통신 인터페이스를 마이크로컨트롤러의 한 종류인 PIC(Programmable Interrupt Controller)를 이용하여 구성하였다. 소프트웨어 모듈은 시스템 운영자가 등대를 간편하고 효율적으로 관리하기 위해서 GUI(Graphical User Interface) 형태의 인터페이스를 제공한다.
