  • Each on-board equipment providing navigational and engine information has different signals. These signals should be analyze, be transformed to the standard digital form and be transmitted to each client on board through the earlier developed ILU (integrated LAN unit). Therefore this paper was to analyze the signals of each equipment for navigation and engine and was to use the serial technology necessary for the equipment and IDU (information display unit). And this paper was then to develop an SIU (ship's interface unit) and to test it onboard.

Automatic Distress Notification System Working with an External VHF Device in Small Ship (비상재난 발생 시 외부 VHF 장비와 연동하는 소형선박용 재난자동속보장치)

  • In this paper, I have developed an automatic distress notification system (ADNS) working with an external VHF device in small ship. The proposed system is as part of a small ship disaster analysis system which can detect and quickly respond to the small ship disaster. The automatic notification system receives the location information signal from the disaster analysis system, and the signal will be converted into voice signal to broadcast of the accident position through external VHF device. It will be sending a distress message as form of voice information through VHF device until sinking under the water. Through this research, I expect we'll be make a quick response and prevent a terrible loss of human life.

  • 선박 원격제어신호를 실제 선박에 적용하려면 대상 선박마다 연결가능한 형태가 되어야 한다. 따라서, 제어신호 수신부와 액추에이터와 연결되는 인터페이스부로 나누어, 원격제어신호 수신시 신호를 변환하는 컨버터와 그 신호가 표현될 수 있는 모델 디스플레이부를 개발하였으며, 다양한 실선 환경에 연동할 수 있도록 인터페이스 방식을 연구하였다. 또한, 선박 원격제어시 명령이 송신되는 시점과 응답이 수신되는 시점이 가시적으로 표시 되도록 하여, 원격 제어자가 직관적으로 제어상태를 파악할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • IMO has made AIS and VHF mandatory for international sailing vessels through SOLAS, and korea if mandating specific vessels through the law for safety of vessels and the ship installation technology standards. However, due to various communication equipments and complicated usage method, malfunction occurs, and the response delay to the actual structure signal often causes human accidents. So recently, as a part of GMDSS modernization, maritime communication devices are attempting to interwork and integrate different types of marine communication system in order to construct a next generation maritime communication system. In this paper, we describe a technique to implement the DSC function by interlocking and integrating the AIS device and VHF. We will present the basis for achieving domestic technical standards and standardization through the linking algorithm of the data that can extract the ship information from AIS and utilize it the DSC function of VHF.

  • To support anti-collision between ship to ship and sea-search and sea-rescue work, ship automatic identification system(AIS) that can both send and receive messages between ship and VTS Traffic control have been adopted. And port control system can control traffic vessel service which is co-operated with AIS. For more efficient traffic vessel service, ship recognition and display system is required to cooperated with AIS. In this paper, we propose ship detection system which is co-operated with AIS by using background estimation based on image processing for on the sea or harbor image extracted from camera. We experiment with on the sea or harbor image extracted from real-time input image from camera. By computer simulation and real world test, the proposed system show more effective to ship monitoring.

  • 해양수산부가 구축한 초고속 해상무선통신망(LTE-Maritime)은 연안으로부터 최대 100km 해역을 항해하는 선박들에게 지능형 해상교통정보서비스(e-Nav)를 제공하기 위한 기반 통신 인프라다. 선박에서 e-Nav 서비스를 제공받기 위해 LTE-M. 무선설비는 선내 고정 설치되어 유선으로 연결된 표시장치와 연동이 필요하다. 이는 공간이 협소하고 밀폐된 소형선박에 설치의 어려움뿐 아니라 선내 센서를 비롯한 다양한 IoT 기기 등과의 연결성에 제약을 줄 수 있다. 또한 선박이 육상의 LTE-M. 기지국과 멀리 떨어질 경우, 다운링크에 비해 업링크 통신품질이 상대적으로 취약해져 긴급 조난 신호를 비롯한 위험상황의 전달에 문제가 발생될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 LTE-M. 망의 무선설비 다각화 사업으로 추진·개발된 소형선용 WiFi 및 업링크 향상용 무선설비의 실해역 성능 시험 방안을 고찰하여, 선내 WiFi 무선 품질을 평가하기 위한 성능 지표를 비롯해 업링크 통신속도 개선 등을 확인하기 위한 상호운용성 성능 시험 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • As a method to improve the present operational and safe function in navigation this paper developed an efficient and economical integrated system of ship's information. This system is, systematically and comprehensively, to monitor, save, analyse, and display information on navigation and environment around own ship in real time by connecting one user to another through an on-board LAN or data communication via satellite so that many users on board can obtain simultaneously and easily the information in real time not only in the wheelhouse and engine room but also in many robins and ship's offices. And it consists of four(5) components; data distribution program, database of navigational and engine-related information, multi-functional monitoring program, ship management program and other application program.

Developmental Plan of Man-Overboard Alert Devices of Small Fishing Vessels: A Study (소형어선의 선외추락 경보장치 개발 방안 연구)

  • A method of transmitting an alert signal in case of man-overboard (MOB) systems in a small fishing vessel navigating within coastal area is being operated as VHF-DSC equipment via a distress alert button and V-P ass Equipment via alert button or beacon separation. However, a small fishing vessel with a couple of crews on board is an inappropriate way to alert a man-overboard condition. However, internationally, MOB equipment using VHF-DSC, AIS, and Bluetooth technologies is used to transmit alert signals directly to the mother ship and other radio stations. In order to analyze the performance and technology of the MOB equipment operating in foreign countries, it was confirmed that the alarm signal can be received within a maximum of one nautical mile when the MOB device is on the water surface. An MOB device that meets domestic conditions needs to send an alarm signal to a station within the VHF communication range. However, in order to reduce the false alert signal, it is most appropriate to operate the VHF-DSC radio equipment installed on the ship remotely. Analysis of various technologies connecting the MOB and the VHF-DSC revealed that the Bluetooth system has advantages such as device miniaturization. When an emergency signal is transmitted from the MOB device, it can be received by a dedicated receiver and recognized through an external input terminal of the VHF-DSC equipment generating its own alarm. If the emergency situation cannot be processed at the mother ship, a distress alert is sent to all radio stations via VHF-DSC for response under emergencies faced by small fishing vessels.

  • Auto Pilot is the system which move automatically the vessel through locating operation mode to automatic after entering operating course using a electronic chart or plotter. And water jet is the a propulsion system that make a power to push the vessel through spouting the accelerated water which is absolbed by the hole in the bottom of vessel. The water jet receive the effect of the depth of water lowly, it's acceletion efficiency is higher under high speed and have an advantage on vibrating and floating sound, so it's demand is increasing as new propulsion system. However, the signal systems of auto Pilot and water jet are defferant, we need the system to communicate between each system. We propose the interface system which communicate between Auto pilot and water jet efficiently in this journal.
