Crosstalk Analysis accrording to Characteristics of Pulse Signal on the Multi Microstriplines unsing the SPICE (SPICE를 이용한 마이크로스트립 다중 전송선로에서 펄스 특성에 따른 선로의 누화특성 해석)

  • The propagation properties of the high speed pulse signal in time domain using the equivalent circuits for the analysis by SPICE on the coupled microstrip lines are investigated. In this paper, the SPICE program is used for the crosstalk analysis on the coupled microstrip lines. The results of crosstalk of coupled microstrip lines compared to one by Branin and FDTD method. And the near-end and far-end crosstalk on coupled lines are analyzed for the square pulse and trapezoidal pulse. The results of this paper are apply To the determination for the geometric structure and the frequency of signal pulse in design of MIC and MMIC by the CAD program.

Equivalent Circuit Design of Broadband 90° Phase Shifter (광대역 90° 위상 변이기의 등가 회로 설계)

  • A novel, simple and broadband $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter was proposed and fabricated by the LTCC process. It is composed of a $180^{\circ}$ transmission line between two $90^{\circ}$ shorted transmission lines. Design equations for the proposed $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter are derived by the method of admittance parameter analysis. Based on design equations, $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter was designed and fabricated to operate in the C-band with ${\pm}2^{\circ}$ of phase deviation.

  • In this paper, a microstrip line implementation using via transition and its application of multilayer compact ring hybrid coupler are presented. This transition is the sandwich structure with via hole to connect two microstrip lines in different layer. For designing a compact RF/Microwave passive circuit, the microstrip line using via-hole transition is proposed to reduce a size of microwave circuit with long transmission line. For the validation of the microstrip line with via-hole transition, the multilayer ring hybrid coupler is implemented at center frequency of 2 GHz. The measured performances are in good agreement with simulation results and about 50% size reduction compare to conventional ring hybrid coupler.

  • This article introduces a novel ultra wideband(UWB) bandpass filter(BPF) with sharp roll-off characteristics in stripline structure. The UWB characteristic is basically obtained from capacitive coupled cross resonator. The resonator has ${\lambda}/2$ length. And at the center of the resonator, two stubs are loaded, one is a ${\lambda}/8$ short-circuited stub and the other is a ${\lambda}/8$ open-circuited stub. The two stubs provide two attenuation poles at lower and upper cutoff frequencies. For input and output lines, two identical capacitively coupled lines have been installed to suppress the unwanted signals in the lower and upper stopbands. The filter has been designed for the U.S. UWB band(3.1~10.6 GHz) with two transmission zeros at 2.4 and 11.1 GHz. The filter has been realized with Low Temperature Core-fired Ceramic(LTCC) green tape which has the dielectric constant of 7.8. Measurement results agree well with HFSS simulation results. Insertion loss less than 0.7 dB and return loss better than 14 dB in the pass band have been measured. The group delay in the center frequency is 0.27 ns and the group delay variation within pass band is less than 0.5 ns. The size of the filter is $6{\times}18{\times}0.6\;mm^3$.

The 4:1(50-Ω:12.5-Ω) microstrip-slot line impedance transformer using a dielectric resonator (유전체 공진기를 이용한 4:1(50-Ω:12.5-Ω) 마이크로스트립-슬롯 선로 임피던스 변환기)

  • Since the slot line transmits electric and magnetic signals through the slot, the size of the slot greatly affects the signal power loss. In order to have low loss, the slot line is mainly used at a high frequency of above 3GHz on a substrate having a high dielectric constant(er). This paper proposes the 4:1 impedance transformer using a slot line on TLC-30 laminate (h=20mil, er=3.0; Taconic) being a relatively low dielectric constant at a frequency of 1.85GHz. In the proposed impedance transformer, the dielectric resonator is arranged on the slot line to reduce signal loss occurring at the slot line. The proposed 4:1 microstrip-slot line impedance transformer fabricated using a (Zr,Sn)TiO4 dielectric resonator(er=38) has the transmission loss(S21) of -0.375dB and the reflection value(S11) of -27.6dB at 1.855GHz. This confirms that the slot line can be stably used even in a low dielectric constant substrate and a low frequency region by using a dielectric resonator.

차상중심 열차제어시스템 개발 동향

  • 국내 철도 지선 구간에서는 열차 운행 빈도와 승객 이용률이 저조하여, 기존 열차제어시스템의 유지보수 비용을 최소화하고 운영 효율성을 향상시킬 필요성이 대두되었다. 이에 따라 고가의 지상신호 제어장치 대신 차상에서 선로변 시설물을 무선으로 제어하고자 하는 차상중심 열차제어시스템이 개발 중이다. 본고에서는 차상중심 열차제어시스템의 개념과 운영을 위한 고려 사항 및 현재 개발 동향을 살펴본다.

A Design of Multiple Microstrip Line Coupled Circuit for Microwave Integrated Circuit (마이크로파 집적회로를 이용한 복수 마이크로스트립선 결합회로의 설계)

  • In this theses, the procedure for finding the equivalent immittance of an n-line coupled structures is presented in terms of the normal mode parameters of the n-line coupled system. The above generalized equations can be applied to the various Coupled structures including directional couplers, DC blocks, bandpass/band elimination filters, and various other uniformly coupled filters. The design equations are based on a simplified TEM(Quasi TEM) mode. The obtained results and the definition of the scattering parameters for a general coupled line four port with arbitrary terminations are used to present the procedure to determine the optimum physical dimensions matching the given load impedances connected to input, output port. Multiple coupled rnicrostrip two-port with three lines circuit designed shows little discrepancy between the conventional method and this one. Four port with five lines were fabricated on teflon substrate($e$r=2.55) with its thickness h=l.588mm designed at the center frequency, 4 GHz. Their measured results are fairly close to the ones by computation.

Broadband 90° Schiffman Phase Shifter with Vertically Installed Coupled Lines (수직 장착된 결합선로를 이용한 광대역 90° 쉬프만 위상천이기)

  • In this paper, an broadband Schiffman phase shifter is proposed using vertically installed coupled lines. It consists of the typical coupled lines and a extra coupled lines which is installed vertically on the original coupled lines plane. Phase responses of Schiffman phase shifter with vetically installed coupled lines are analyzed in consideration of the phase velocity of two independent transmission modes and the characteristic impedances. The $90^{\circ}$ Schiffman phase shifters with high impedance ratio is realized at 2.4 GHz, which cannot be implemented with the conventional coupled lines. The measured results show that the bandwidth is 1.5~3.2 GHz(70.8 %) within the phase errors ${\pm}5^{\circ}$. The measured return loss is found to be better than 12.4 dB and insertion loss is less than 1.2 dB over the operating frequency band.

Measurement method of the signal transfer characteristic(S21) of the impedance transformer (임피던스 변환회로의 신호 전달특성(S21) 측정 방법)

  • In order to measure the transfer characteristic(S21) of the impedance transformer, two impedance transformers must be symmetrically connected. However, the transfer characteristic of two symmetrically connected impedance transformers is influenced by the length of the intermediate connection line. This paper theoretically examines closely the length of the intermediate connection line to obtain the accurate transfer characteristic of the impedance transformer. The electrical length of the intermediate connection line for obtaining the accurate transfer characteristic of the 4:1(50-Ω:12.5-Ω) impedance transformer is calculated about 45°. Using the calculated length of the connection line, The λ/4-microstrip impedance transformer is fabricated at 1 GHz to measure the transfer characteristic. The symmetrically connected impedance transformer is measured the reflection characteristic(S11) of -40.64dB and the transfer characteristic(S21) of -0.154dB at 0.980GHz. This value is approximately equal to the theoretical calculated 987MHz center frequency and -0.15dB transfer loss value of the λ/4-microstrip impedance transformer.

  • An Electric railway system has the characteristics. The train powered by substations generates regenerative power when it runs on railway of various slope. A regenerative braking is an ideal system on account of reducing mechanical braking as well as recycling the energy. This study dealt with the line gradient review, train running records and power data out of substations in a bid to establish the efficient regenerative energy storage system.
