데이터 방송 서비스(Data broadcasting Service)는 시청자에게 더 높은 품질의 영상과 음성은 뿐만 아니라 유용한 부가 정보를 함께 제공하고 있다. 이 중 채널 종류와 프로그램 정보와 같은 시청자 및 방송 수신 단말기에게 필요한 정보를 서비스 인포메이션이라고 한다. 이 서비스 인포메이션은 테이블 형태로 전송이 되며, 이 테이블의 종류 및 형태는 데이터 방송 표준별로 차이점을 가지고 있다. 방송사업자는 각 데이터 방송 표준에 정의된 서비스 인포메이션 테이블(Service Information Table) 종류와 형태에 맞춰서 서비스를 제공하기 때문에, 사업자간 서비스의 비호환성을 야기한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 데이터 방송 미들웨어 표준을 모두 지원할 수 있는 통합 미들웨어의 개발을 위한 범용 서비스 인포메이션 테이블 파싱 전략을 제안한다. 이 전략은 XML 기반의 테이블 종류와 형태에 대한 기술 정보를 이용하여 별도의 수정 없이 동적으로 대상 테이블의 파싱을 가능하게 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and propose the vision of information design for the user-friendliness and accessibility for web-based information services. Information design, which focuses more narrowly on the information itself in one or more information units, and may encompass the information aspects of elements of design(labels, knobs, and the physical interface), information content design, page design, Web site design, typography decisions, and so forth. Information design is an alternative to all traditional approaches to information (science, philosophy, and others). Information is designed according to consciously chosen principles and criteria. rather than by following habitual patterns of a traditional profession.

The data broadcasting service, which is growing remarkably today, provides viewers with useful information as well as high quality video and audio. Service information is a kind of additional data that contains a wide range of information such as channel list and/or program title. Each service information is transmitted in the form of a table. And most standard committees have specified their own table list used for carrying the service information. Consequently, It causes incompatibility among services that each broadcast operators produce because the tables that they use differ from each other. In this paper, we propose a general-purpose service information processing system for an integrated data broadcasting middleware that is compatible with heterogenous broadcasting environments. The system is able to change its target table list dynamically without any code modification. Futhermore, we also adopted a thread pool model for efficient parsing and event dispatching.

유럽의 각 분야별 정보 서비스 현황과 새로운 관련 솔루션 및 시장 현황 등을 파악할 수 있는 런던온라인 인포메이션 2004 전시회가 지난해 11월 30일부터 12월 2일 까지 사흘동안 런던 올림피아 전시장 그랜드홀과 컨퍼런스 센터에서 열렸다. 이번 행사에는 전세계 230여개 업체와 1만여명의 전문가들이 참여해 성황을 이뤘다.

Mobile contents mean all contents that could be served by mobile terminals. The mobile contents are categorized by three areas, which are communication, information and entertainment. Since the various mobile contents have own characteristics, there are differentiations among the service success factors according to types of the contents. In this paper, we do not only derive important factors that influence success of mobile contents services, but also analyze how the factors influence the success of mobile services. We also analyze whether measures of the factors might differ significantly among the types of mobile contents services.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the information display at Yong In University through the use of field observations and surveys to improve the facility that adheres to the user's comfort and accessibility. The study has found that the arrangement of importance of subjects that are more relevant to the intended audience and the placement of the information kiosk at places where people would stay for longer durations have higher chances of absorbing the information provided in the kiosk. Though the study has been investigated in a limited setting of Yong In University, the broader implications of this study can be extend to public spaces that also provide information kiosks.

The role of autonomic and intelligent agents in various environments is getting more important as demand on ubiquitous computing grows. The agents exchange information using the ACL (Agent Communication Language) to autonomously solve the problems. In this paper we propose a way of efficient interoperability technique between the agent framework built based on the international standard FIPA(Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) and the CORBA event service-based information bus adapter developed by us. The design and implementation of EMTI (Efficient Message Transport Interface) allowing communication between the information bus adapter which is non-agent platform and JADE platform are presented and its performance is evaluated by letting them exchange a large amount of messages.

네트워크 및 전송기술의 발달로, 고품질 HDTV, IPTV 및 3DTV 영상서비스가 가능하게 되었다. 통신망을 사용한 멀티미디어 서비스 및 DMB와 같은 이동 수신 방송 등은 사용자에게 편의성을 제공한다. 그러나 한정된 대역폭으로 인한 압축 열화와 전송오류로 인한 화질 열화의 발생으로 멀티미디어 서비스의 체감 품질(QoE: Quality of Experience)이 중요한 문제로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 국제전기통신연합(ITU)과 VQEG 등의 국제 표준화 기관에서는 다양한 환경과 규격의 영상에 대해 영상의 품질을 측정하는 표준화를 진행하였다. 본 고에서는 동영상 화질 평가에 대해 기존에 진행된 표준에 대하여 소개하고, 현재 ITU에서 진행 중인 표준화 동향 및 이슈들을 살펴본다.
