The Role of ICT on Productivity Growth in Service Industry (서비스산업의 생산성 분석 - 정보통신기술 이용 현황을 중심으로 -)

  • Korean service industry has been rapidly growing so far and economic trends in korea is shifting to service economy. However Information Communication Technology (ICT) investment and use in service sector are still relatively low in comparison with US. Keeping the current state of the service industry in mind, this paper is to review the potential productivity growth of service industry empirically by analyzing the effect of ICT on total factor productivity after investing the ICT using outlook of Korean service industry. The results show that service sectors, with more using ICT, show high productivity growth and stable TFP change during the financial period. Sectors with lower using ICT are more sensitive to changes in the business environment when compare to sectors with highly using ICT. Concerning the period of 1997-1999, the TFP growth of most of sectors slowed down and turned to recovery immediately afterwards, 2000-2002.

  • Due to recent increasing of tour, leisure industries, customer's usage of service became more grouped and customer-to- customer interaction became more important. Under these service environment, it is easy to find cases of damaging other customer's service experiences by some customers who use service in selfish manner. Customers called 'Jaycustomer' usually happen in low frequency, but they are serious service failure because they can deliver bad service experience. It seems previous service design tools couldn't handle these cases enough. So it will be good to reinforce to handle these incidents. This study was based on the empirical insights of service design case study by using 'evil persona'. Literature review and survey were performed to find out proper servicescape for 'evil persona'. From analysis, the service environmental factors which affect frequency of negative customer-to-customer interaction were selected. Also, many cases of such negative behavior were gathered and sorted to find types and patterns which affected by selected service environmental factors.

  • The purposes of this paper are to identify the factors which affect the intention to use mobile services, and to compare users' satisfaction elements for customers between Korea and China. The findings of this paper are as follows: first, in Korea, information quality, system quality, design quality, mobile internet experience, perceived cost and innovation pursuit are the significant variables affecting the user satisfaction; second, in China, system quality and innovation pursuit don't affect the user satisfaction in China. And the user satisfaction affects the intention to use of the mobile service both in Korea and China.

  • 최근 IT를 포함한 모든 산업 및 기술 영역에서는 포준화 활동을 기반으로 하여 융복합화(Convergence) 현상이 두드러지고 있다. 이는 또한 e-Learning 산업 및 기술에서도 큰 화두이다. 현재 e-Learning 표준화에서 시장에서 주도권을 행사하고 있는 것은 ADL의 SCORM 규격이다. 데이터방송 영역에서는, 북미에서 지상파와 케이블 TV간 콘텐츠 호환성 확보를 위해 ATSC와 케이블랩(CableLabs)이 공동 연구 중인 ACAP을 통해서 지상파-케이블 공통 표준화가 진행중이다. 이에 본 논문은 3-Learning 산업 및 기술에서의 융복합화의 일 영역으로 그리고 방송통신융합서비스의 일환으로 인터넷 기반 학습 환경과 TV 기반 학습 환경에서의 학습 콘텐츠 ( 및 코스웨어) 상호운용성에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 인터넷 기반의 e-Learning의 사실상의 표준으로 받아들여지고 있는 SCORM 규격과 DTV 환경 기반의 데이터방송 지상파-케이블 공통 규격인 ACAP간의 상호운용 API 개발을 통하여, SCORM 규격과 ACAP 규격의 상호운용성을 가능하게 하는 학습 콘텐츠 및 T-Learning 운용환경을 연구$\cdot$개발하였다.

  • Due to the wide spread of the perception of cloud computing, the usage of cloud computing is increasing globally. Cloud computing is able to converge the various industrial domains based on ICT and it is more and more popular because it has a lot of benefits such as cost savings etc. in global economic recession. However, if cloud computing service is to achieve its potential, it is necessary to clearly understand the critical issues such as service security, performance and availability and so on from the perspectives of the providers and the consumers of the cloud service. In addition, customers focus on how to get and use the safe and reliable cloud service. In order to meet these problems, Korea cloud service certification system and Japanese ASP-SaaS-Cloud certification system were performed in each country. This paper aims at comparing and analyzing between them and describing the difference. Eventually, we propose the improvement strategy of Korea cloud service certification system based on the comparison results between them.

Economy Effects of IT Industry on Financial and Insurance Services (IT산업이 금융서비스에 미치는 경제적 효과)

  • IT is based industry on finance and insurance services and is essential equipment of survival for competitive on market. The importance of IT industry on finance and insurance is bigger than other industries. So, This study examinate effects of hardware and software divided by IT industry on each 6 finance and insurances. Research models are production inducing effects of Demand-Driven model, Shortage effects of Supply-Driven model finally, Leontief's price model by using data for analysis is Input-Output table for 2000~2009. Results are that IT Service effects are more impact than IT hardware effects on Finance and Insurance Service. Especially, IT service's supply shortage effects is 0.0847KWR to produce 1KRW of finance and insurance service for 2-fold increase compared to 2000. In addition, Central Bank and banking institutions of finance and insurance services are the greatest impact from IT industry. These are which is increasing to interdependence between IT industry and finance and insurance service.

  • Recently, non-standard techniques of web like Active-X caused not only user inconvenience but also barriers to the business of Internet. The government recognized that the serious environmental situation of using Internet is needed to be improved. Especially, HTML5 convergence technology is meant to be a specific platform over the devices, users, and systems. It also means web standards to support more creative business service model and emerging market. In this paper, we performed a survey on Web standards compliance and web development professional level of domestic web developers. In addition, we present the basic direction of government policy of software and software-positive human resources policy, that is based on the analysis of the survey results. Our study will be able to contribute to construct policies to support digital convergence industry and to strengthen technical assistance and expertise to build training programs for the spread of global Web standards (HTML5).

  • As the world economy has been changed into the knowledge-based society, all economic activities have globalized and intensified competition in the marketplace, and the forces of these changes are even more aggressively pressuring today's business. According to many businesses are focused on the core competence and various functions are outsourced by service providers, many firms pay heavily attention to business service. Although the importance of business service, domestic business service industry shows a low labor productivity. On the other hand, foreign business service companies in korea take a substantial portion of business service market. Thus, domestic business service needs to increase a competitiveness because of potential growth opportunities. This study attempts to find out the ripple effect of business service industry on other industry.

  • Mobile health industry has been combined with IT technology and is attracting attention. The health application has been developed to provide users a healthy life style. First of all, 5 mobile health applications were selected and reviewed in terms of their service trend. It turned out that none of those applications had any emotional data but physical one. Secondly, to extract users' emotion, technological researches were sorted into different categories. And the result implied that text-based emotion recognition technology is the most suitable for the mobile health service. To implement the service, the application was designed and developed the process of emotion recognition system based on the contents of the research. One-dimension emotion model, which is the standard of classifying emotional data and social network service, was set up as a source. In last, to suggest the usage of health application has been combined with persuasive technology. As a result, this paper prospered a overall service process, concrete service scheme and a guidelines containing 15 services in accordance with the five emotions and time. It is expected to become a direction for indicators considering a psychological individual context.

  • As a result of growth of digital music market in Korea, Creator's rights and interests have been at the heart of the debate in terms of legal system. In the music industry, digital music revenue has now overtaken records sales and compared to download service it is now clear that music streaming and subscription is mainstream model in the rise of the worldwide market of digital music. This trend is also indentical to the domestic and withholding regulations for music service and creator's rights and interests have become an ever growing issue. Ministry of Culture, Sports ad Tourism decided the revision of withholding regulations for the digital music service in 2013. The amendment is to change its policy of charging music service from the flat rate pricing to a usage-based system. This paper brought forward some disputable points such as fair division of profit, reasonable pricing for consumers etc. about the revision. Therefore, improvement of system and change in the perception of such copyrights are still required for both the encouragement of creator's activities and the high consumer satisfaction.
