This study aimed to identify the difference of scapular movements between tennis players with and without shoulder impingement syndrome(SIS) and to verify the effect of kinesiology taping applied to scapular. A total of 15 players were categorized in SIS group(n=7) and control(CON) group(n=8). The scapular movements evaluated using 3-dimensional motion analysis in the 5 events of the flat first serve before and after the application of taping. The male of SIS group(-7.31±1.19° and -5.28±1.08°, respectively) had tilted scapular more anteriorly compared to CON group(-0.98±5.38° and -0.44±3.52°, respectively) at the maximally humeral external rotation and the impact(Z=-2.309, p=.021 and Z=-2.309, p=.021, respectively). The scapular(-8.11±2.57°) of female in SIS group tilted more anteriorly than that of CON(-0.97±3.31°) group at the maximally humeral external rotation(Z=-2.121, p=.034). But the scapular movements had no statistical differences between before and after the application of taping.
This paper addresses the problem of reducing the speckle noise in SAR images by wavelet transformation, using a non-local means(NLM) filter originated for Gaussian noise removal. Log-transformed SAR image makes multiplicative speckle noise additive. Thus, non-local means filtering and wavelet thresholding are used to reduce the additive noise, followed by an exponential transformation. NLM filter is an image denoising method that replaces each pixel by a weighted average of all the similarly pixels in the image. But the NLM filter takes an acceptable amount of time to perform the process for all possible pairs of pixels. This paper, also proposes an alternative strategy that uses the t-test more efficiently to eliminate pixel pairs that are dissimilar. Extensive simulations showed that the proposed filter outperforms many existing filters terms of quantitative measures such as PSNR and DSSIM as well as qualitative judgments of image quality and the computational time required to restore images.

The purpose of this research is to propose a method for scoring the quality of a fingerprint image using the local information derived from the fingerprint image. In previous works for the quality measuring, most of the quality scores are related to the performance of a matching algorithm, and this makes the quality result more subjective. The quality score of a fingerprint image proposed in this work is sensor-independent, source-independent and matcher-independent one, and this concept of fingerprint sample quality results in effective improvement of the system performance. In this research, a new definition of fingerprint image quality and a new method for measuring the quality are proposed. For the experiments, several sub-databases from FVCs are used and the proposed method showed reasonable results for the test database. The proposed method can be used in various systems for the numerous purposes since the quality scores generated by the proposed method are based on the idea that the quality of fingerprint should be sensor-independent, source-independent and matcher-independent.
Stereo matching algorithm is an essential part in computer vision and photography. Accuracy and computational complexity are challenges of stereo matching algorithm. Much research has been devoted to stereo matching based on cost volume filtering of matching costs. Local stereo matching based guided image filtering (GIF) has a computational complexity of O(N), but is still not enough to provide real-time 3-dimensional (3-D) video services. The proposed algorithm concentrates reduction of computational complexity using the concept of fast guided image filter, which increase the speed up to $O(N/\small{s}^2)$ with a sub-sampling ratio $\small{s}$. Experimental results indicated that the proposed algorithm achieves effective local stereo matching as well as a fast execution time for 3-D video service.
In general, the size of volume data is large since it has logical 3D structure so it takes long time to manipulate. Much work has been done to improve processing speed of volume data. In this paper, we propose a interlaced scanning volume rendering that reduce computation time by using temporal coherence with minimum loss of image quality. It renders a current frame by reusing information of previous frame. Conventional volume raycasting renders each frame by casting rays on every pixels. On the other hand, our methods divided an image into n-pixel blocks, then it casts a ray on a pixel of a block per each frames. Consequently, it generates an image by accumulating pixel values of previous n frames. The quality of rendered image of our method is better than that of simple screen space subsampling method since it uses afterimage effect of human cognitive system, and it is n-times faster that the previous one.

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) images can be generated by radar which radiates the electromagnetic wave to a target and receives signal reflected from the target. ISAR images can be widely used to target detection and recognition. This paper proposed a method of generation of high resolution ISAR images by synthesizing frequency spectrums of each stepped chirp waveform in one burst and sub-sampling in frequency domain. This process is performed over entire bursts during coherent processing interval. Conventional ISAR image generation method using stepped frequency waveform has a severe problem of short unambiguous range, loading to ghost phenomenon. However, this problem can be resolved by the proposed method. In simulations, we generate high resolution ISAR image of the moving target which is Boeing-737 aircraft model composed of several ideal point scatterers.

This paper presents a rapid watermarking algorithm based on DC image, which provides a resilience to geometric distortion. Our proposed scheme is based on $8{\times}8$ block DCT that is widely used in image/video compression techniques (e.g., JPEG and MPEG). In particular, a DC image is analyzed by DWT to embed a watermark. To overcome a quality degradation caused by a watermark insertion into DC components, we discern carefully the intensity and amount of watermark along the different subbands of DWT. Note that the proposed technique supports a high throughput for a real-time watermark insertion and extraction by relying on a partial decoding (i.e., DC components) on $8{\times}8$ block DCT domain. Experimental result shows that the proposed watermarking scheme significantly reduces computation time of 82% compared with existing DC component based algorithm and yet provides invariant properties against various attacks such as geometric distortion and JPEG compression, etc.
In this paper, DLKF (Deep Learning Keypoint Filtering), the deep learning-based keypoint filtering method for the rapidization of the image registration method for remote sensing images is proposed. The complexity of the conventional feature-based image registration method arises during the feature matching step. To reduce this complexity, this paper proposes to filter only the keypoints detected in the artificial structure among the keypoints detected in the keypoint detector by ensuring that the feature matching is matched with the keypoints detected in the artificial structure of the image. For reducing the number of keypoints points as preserving essential keypoints, we preserve keypoints adjacent to the boundaries of the artificial structure, and use reduced images, and crop image patches overlapping to eliminate noise from the patch boundary as a result of the image segmentation method. the proposed method improves the speed and accuracy of registration. To verify the performance of DLKF, the speed and accuracy of the conventional keypoints extraction method were compared using the remote sensing image of KOMPSAT-3 satellite. Based on the SIFT-based registration method, which is commonly used in households, the SURF-based registration method, which improved the speed of the SIFT method, improved the speed by 2.6 times while reducing the number of keypoints by about 18%, but the accuracy decreased from 3.42 to 5.43. Became. However, when the proposed method, DLKF, was used, the number of keypoints was reduced by about 82%, improving the speed by about 20.5 times, while reducing the accuracy to 4.51.
The size distributions of electrospray droplets from the Taylor cone in cone-jet mode are directly measured by using a freezing method and a transmission electron microscope (TEM) image processing technique. These results are compared with the data obtained by an aerodynamic size spectrometer (TSI Aerosizer DSP). The use of glycerol seeded with NaI and a freezing method make it possible to sample droplets with their original sizes preserved. Since pictures of droplets are taken with TEM with very low vapor pressure of the solution, evaporation is suppressed by freezing. For liquid flow rates below 1 nl/sec, the measured droplet diameters by the TEM image processing technique and the aerosizer are in the range of 0.25 to $0.32{\mu}m$ and 0.30 to $0.40{\mu}m$, respectively. Comparing the TEM data with the aerosizer measurements, it has been revealed that the TEM image processing technique can afford more accurate values of droplet size distributions in the submicron range of 0.1 to $0.4{\mu}m$.

In this paper, to design high speed 1 line VRAM(Video RAM) suitable for image signal processing with ASIC(Application Specific IC) method, the VRAM memory core has been designed using 3-TR dual-port dynamic cell which has excellent access time and integration characteristics. High speed pipeline operation was attained by separating the first row from the subarray 1 memory core and the simultaneous I/Q operation for a selected single address was made possible by adopting data-latch scheme. Peripheral circuits were designed implementing address selector and 1/2V voltage generator. Integrated ASIC has been optimized using 1.5[ m] CMOS design rule.
