Effect of Agents to Improve Soil Physical Properties on Aster scaber in Continuous Cultivation (참취 다년재배지 토양 물리성 개선을 위한 개량제 처리 효과)

  • 참취(Aster scaber)는 국화과에 속하는 여러해살이식물로 취나물로 분류되어 전국에서 재배되고 있으며 최근 성인병 예방 효과와 무공해 건강식품으로 연중 소비가 증대되고 있으며, 주로 시설재배 작형으로 많이 재배하고 있다. 참취 시설재배지는 양분의 과다투입에 의한 염류집적과 잦은 관수로 물리성이 악화 되어 참취의 생육이 저하되어 수량이 감소하여 통상 3년 마다 종묘 갱신이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 토양개량제 처리에 따른 토양 물리화학성과 참취의 생육에 미치는 영향을 검토하여 참취 시설재배 농가에 활용할 수 있는 방안을 개발하고자 시험을 수행하였다. 2018년 4월부터 2020년 11월까지 전라북도 농업기술원 허브산채시험장에서 참취 시설재배를 대상으로 무처리, 볏짚, 왕겨숯, 야자섬유 등을 10a당 1,000kg 처리하여 시기별 토양 이화학성, 생육특성을 조사하였다. 자재 처리 후 토양물리성의 변화는 볏짚 시용에서 가장 낮은 용적밀도 1.35g/cm3와 가장 높은 공극률 49.04%을 보였다. 토양 삼상 중 고상은 왕겨숯에서 52.82%로, 액상은 왕겨숯에서 30.28%로, 기상은 볏짚에서 22.45%로 가장 높았다. 토양 화학적 특성을 조사한 결과 모든 처리구에서 토양유기물 함량은 증가하였고, 유효인산은 함량은 440~487mg/kg로 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 칼륨은 0.77~0.88cmolc/kg로 낮아졌고, 칼슘과 11.56~14.09cmolc/kg, 마그네슘은 2.93~3.22cmolc/kg로 증가하였다. 생육특성은 볏짚 처리구에서 초장 26.4cm, 엽장 8.7cm, 엽폭 6.7cm, 줄기수 7.2주로 다른 처리구에 비해 좋은 생육이 좋았으며, 수량 또한 볏짚 처리구에서 1,554.3kg/10a로 가장 높았다. 지하부 생육특성은 볏짚 처리구에서 근중 83.7g/주, 근장 28.2cm, 근직경mm로 다른 처리구에 비해 생육이 양호하였다. 참취 다년재배지 정신 전 볏짚을 시용함으로써 토양의 유기물함량 증가와 용적밀도 감소, 공극율 증가 등 토양의 물리화학성을 개선하여 참취 수량성 증대효과가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

Effects of Planting Date and Density by Drill Seeder on Growth and Yield of Black Soybeans (검정콩 기계조파시 파종시기와 밀도가 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to compare the growth and yield, and to determine the optimum planting date and density in two improved black soybean varieties. The two varieties were planted by driller attached a tractor on May 21 and June 19, 1993, and treated five planting densities, respectively. Yield of Gumjeongkong 1 was similer for both planting dates, but that of Suwon 157 was remarkably reduced on June 19 planting compared to May 21. There was significant differences between planting dates in stem length, number of branches, seeds per plant, seed weight and yield. Planting density, also, significantly affected on stem length, number of branches and seeds per plant. Statistically significant interactions between planting date$\times$variety and planting date$\times$planting density were found at almost all characteristics, except between variety$\times$planting density. Optimum planting date and density of Gumjeongkong 1 for high yield were June 19 and 33, 000 plants per l0a, and those of Suwon 157 were May 21 and 22, 000 plants per l0a, respectively. The coefficient of variation at different planting densities was high at stem length, number of branches, seeds per plant and yield, but low at number of main stem node, seeds per pod and 100 seed weight.

Effect of Temperature on Growth and Related Gene Expression in Alternative Type Wheat Cultivars (양절형 밀 생장에 대한 온도의 영향과 유전자 발현 양상)

  • We have investigated the effects of ambient temperature on the growth of wheat in Korea. The differences in the growth phase of wheat were compared according to the temperature treatment. The productive tiller number and dry weight were decreased in a plot under a higher temperature treatment. We found that the growth of Jinpum was different from that of the alternative wheat cultivars, which were bred in Korea, at 50 days after treatment. While the Jinpum wheat grown at 17℃ showed vegetative stage growth, that grown in the 23℃ growth chamber entered the heading and flowering stage. The differences in the expression of 16 genes known to be involved in high-temperature responses were checked by using Jinpum wheat 50 days after two temperature treatments (17℃ and 23℃), which showed apparent differences in expression between the higher and lower temperatures during the growth phase. In the 23℃ treatment samples, the genes with increased expression were HSP70, HSP101, VRN2, ERF1, TAA1, YUCCA2, GolS, MYB73, and Histone H2A, while the genes with decreased expression were VRN-A1, DREB2A, HsfA3, PIF4, PhyB, HSP17.6CII, rbcL, and MYB73. YUCCA2, HSP101, ERF1, and VRN-A1 showed a significant difference in gene expression between lower- and higher-temperature conditions. Overall, combining the means of the expression of various genes involved in thermosensing, vernalization, and abiotic stresses, it is possible to conclude that different sets of genes are involved in vernalization and summer depression of wheat under long term, high ambient temperature conditions.

The Effect of Developed SCB Liquid Fertilizer on the Growth of Creeping Bentgrass (개량 SCB 저농도액비가 크리핑벤트그래스의 생육에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of developed SCB(DSCB) produced by adding N, P and K to SCB liquid fertilizer on the growth of creeping bentgrass. Fertilizer treatments were designed as follows; non-fertilizer (NF), control (CF; chemical fertilizer), 100 DSCB (250 $ml{\cdot}m^{-2}$DSCB), 80DSCB (200 $ml{\cdot}m^{-2}$DSCB) and CF+SCB (CF+250 $ml{\cdot}m^{-2}$SCB). Every treatment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. In creeping bentgrass, turf color index, chlorophyll index, dry weight, shoot number and nutrient content were measured. The results were as follows; Chemical properties of soil was hardly affected by DSCB and SCB applications. Turf color index and chlorophyll index in DSCB and SCB treatment were increased by 2~3% and 14~19% than those in NF, respectively, and similar to those of CF treatment. As applied to DSCB and SCB, shoot number was increased by 7%, 21%, 36% in 100 DSCB, 80 DSCB and CF+SCB than NF, respectively, and by 19% in CF+SCB than in CF. Supplying DSCB and SCB increased dry weight of creeping bentgrass, compared to CF treatment. Compared with CF, nitrogen and P content in tissue was increased in CF+SCB and in 80DSCB, respectively. These results suggested that applications of DSCB and SCB promoted turf quality and growth of creeping bentgrass by enhancing N and P uptake and shoot number.

Effect of solid grain media on the mycelial growth of Pleurotus ostreatus and its biofunctional activity (곡물배지가 느타리버섯의 균사배양과 생리활성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effect of solid grain media on the mycelial growth of Pleurotus ostreatus and its biofunctional activities were investigated using seven kinds of grains. Foxtail millet and barley were good for growth of hypha of P. ostreatus. However, growth of the mycelium was very slow in the solid grain media containing wheat, corn and brown rice. Mycelial growth of P. ostreatus according to water content of solid grain media was good at 25% to 30%. Mycelial growth of P. ostreatus according to heating-time and temperature of solid grain media was good for 30 min at $121^{\circ}C$. Anticancer activities against lung cancer cell line of the myceial extracts from P. ostreatus grown on several grain media were strong in the corn, defatted soybean, brown rice, barly and black bean in order. Fibrinolytic activities of the myelial extracts were strong in order defatted soybean, wheat, foxtail millet, barley, brown rice and black bean. The mycelial extracts were showed good antibacterial activities against Pseudomonas aeroginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.

Growth and Quality Improvement of Creeping Bentgrass by Two Fertilizers Containing Trichoderma Species (Trichoderma 종 미생물비료 시비에 따른 Creeping bentgrass 생육 및 품질 향상)

  • Trichoderma spp. were famous fungi used for turfgrass management in golf course. This study was conducted to evaluate effects of two microbial fertilizers containing Trichoderma harzianum and T. atroviride on the growth and quality of creeping bentgrass with turf color index, chlorophyll index, root length, shoot number, clipping yield and nutrient content. Treatments were designed as follow; non-fertilizer (NF), control fertilizer (CF), T. harzianum (TH), and T. atroviride (TA). Chlorophyll index and root length of TH and TA were increased than these of CF and shoot number and content and uptake of nitrogen (N) of TA higher than these of CF. The N content in turfgrass tissue was significantly related to shoot number, root length and N uptake (P<0.05) and shoot number was positively relate to chlorophyll index (P<0.05). These results indicated that application of Trichoderma harzianum and T. atroviride improved a growth and quality of creeping bentgrass by promoting N uptake.

Cultural Characteristics of Rhizoctonia cerealis Isolated from Diseased Wheat Fields and Evaluation of the Resistance of Korean Winter Cereal Crops (밀 잎집눈무늬병원균(Rhizoctonia cerealis)의 배양적 특성과 국내육성 맥류 품종의 저항성 평가)

  • It was identified as a sharp eyespot (Rhizoctonia cerealis) that the isolates from abnormal symptoms in wheat that showed yellowing leaves, necrotic spot on stem base and dead tillers. These isolates have slower growth property and fewer mycelia than Rhizoctonia solani AG-1(1A) (KACC 40106). They showed binuclear cell, same media cultural and DNA characteristics to R. cerealis. They caused same symptoms on leaves and stem base appeared in artificial inoculation test, comparing to diseased wheat fields and also affect to maturing of kernels. They have optimal growth temperature and acidity on the artificial media as $20{\sim}25^{\circ}C$ and pH 5~7, respectively. In the investigation of varietal resistance of Korean winter cereal crops to sharp eyespot, there was no resistant in wheat cultivars that all materials infected over 20% diseased ratio. 12 cultivars including 'Anbaekmil', however, considered to moderate resistance with 20 to 30% infection ratio. The others crops using in feeding, whole crop barley, oat, rye and triticale were resistant below 15% diseased degree except the rye that showed over 50% infection rate. It was the first evaluation to sharp eyespot resistance for the Korean feeding crop cultivars. Most tested Korean barley cultivars for malting and food were moderate and susceptible to the sharp eyespot. Only 3 hulled barley, 'Tapgolbori', 'Albori' and 'Seodunchalbori', showed resistance with less than 10% diseased ratio. All tested naked barley cultivars showed susceptible response to the disease.

  • 구상나무림 보전관리의 기초자료를 마련하고자 지리산 한라산 및 덕유산의 아고산지대에 95개의 조사구를 설치하여 한국특산종 구상나무의 생육현황과 구상나무 서식지의 입지인지를 조사하였다 구상나무는 흉고직경 10-30cm의 범위에 드는 나무들이 주로 고사목으로 나타났으며 고사목의 비율은 전체적으로 총개체수의 11.51%였다 고사목의 비율또한 덕유산에서 18.18%로 가장높게나타났고 한라산 지역이 8.11%로 가장 낮게 나타났다 조사구당 구상나무 개체수 치수의 개체수 구상나무의 수고와 흉고직경 생육현황표에 의한 점수 구상나무의 상대밀도 등은 지역간에 통계적 유의차가 인정되었다 생육중인 구상나무의 활력은 한라산 지리산, 덕유산으로 순으로 좋았다 조사구당 구상나무 치수의 개체수는 한라산에서 6.00개체로 가장 많았으며 덕유산에서는 치수가 없는 것으로 나타났다 구상나무의 상대밀도도 한라산, 지리산, 덕유산 순으로 높게 나타났다. 조사구당 구상나무 개체수는 해발고와 정의 상관, 방위, 낙엽퇴의 두께, 조사구당 교목의 개체수 및 종수, 활엽수 상대밀도와는 부의 상관이 인정되었다. 구상나무 상대밀도는 해발고와는 고도의 정의 상관관계 방위 조사 구당교목의 개체수 및 종수 수관울폐도, 활엽수 상대밀도와는 부의 상관관계가 인정되었다 지리산, 한라산 및 덕유산에 자생하는 구상나무는 해발고가 높으며 볕이 잘들고 낙엽퇴가 얕으며 종구성이 단순하고 활엽수가 적은 지역에 보다 많이 분포한다.

Growth and Acid Production by Lactic Acid Bacteria In Cereal Added Milk (곡류 첨가 우유에서 유산균의 생육과 산생성)

  • A curd yogurt was prepared from milk added with skim milk powder or four kinds of cereal. The optimum fermentation temperature of Lactobacillus acidophilus (KCTC 2182) and changes in growth and acid production by 1. acidophilus in milk added with cereal at 2%(W/V) level were investigated. The optimum fermentation temperature of 1. acidophilus (KCTC 2182) was 39~$41^{\circ}C$. The acidify significantly increased during fermentation by L. acidophilus for 30 hours while pH significantly decreased during fermentation. The number of viable cells markedly increased until the first 18 or 24 hours of fermentation by L. acidophilus.

The Effect of Creeping Bentgrass Growth on Greenspeed (그린잔디의 생육이 그린스피드에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was performed to investigate change of green speed according to growth of grass, for this, the method of effective green management for improvement of green speed was searched by investigating green density, soil moisture, surface hardness, and mowing height every day for 6 months. As the result of the study, reliability between, green density, soil moisture, surface hardness, mowing height and green speed were measured to be respectively 0.4742, 0.5690, 0.4632, 0.2806, i.e. soil moisture is considered as the factor which affects green speed the most. Therefore, it will be an advantageous environment to maintain soil moisture a little bit low to improve green speed within the range that does not disrupt the growth of green. In case of green density, it is considered to be effective to get a fast green speed when obtaining enough density during May~June, the most vigorous growth period and at the same time green up period. Surface hardness was confirmed that management work as rolling is a considerably effective method to increase hardness. However, rolling gives high stress to the green, combining another management work as regular hilling could be a good alternative. Reliability of green preview and green speed was 0.2806, lower than soil moisture or surface hardness. Through the results, it was confirmed that management of mowing height to be low less than 3.00 mm is helpful to improve green speed, timely, and it is advantageous to manage green speed when adjusting mowing height during the vigorous growth period of bent grass. However, considering the range of mowing height was not various, being 2.9~3.4 mm, henceforth research on investigation of green speed at more various mowing heights would be necessary. Consequently, except mowing height, other three factors, i.e. green density, soil moisture and surface hardness were investigated to have considerable level of reliability on green speed, and it is considered that each factor affects green speed respectively according to green condition and time. Accordingly, in order for the manager to maintain high speed all year round, intensive care for each factor per time unit considering green growth condition is considered to be necessary.
