Message Framing Effect in Political Publicity Campaign: Focused on Prospect Theory (정치홍보 캠페인의 메시지 프레이밍 효과: 전망이론을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted with the aim of presenting a strategic implication for effective political campaign in the election situation which is held almost every year including the early presidential election. For this purpose, the $2{\times}2{\times}2$ triad experiment design of framing, involvement, political efficacy. The result shows that the main effect of framing and political efficacy was found, but the main effect of involvement was not shown. And also a result of two-way ANOVA, the interaction between framing and involvement was significant, but the interaction effect between framing and political efficacy was not significant. In addition, the three-way interaction effects of framing, involvement, and political efficacy were also significant. This study suggests that prospect theory is not often used to test the effects of political campaign messages and suggests new perspectives on political campaign strategies by introducing the prospect theory into election campaign message research.

The Effects of Prosocial PR Appeals on Policy Acceptance: a case of Environmental Policy (친사회성 정책홍보 메시지의 소구유형이 정책수용에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study is to find out whether policy acceptance(attitude formation and intention of action) is affected by the message appeals(rational vs. emotional) when policy PR messages emphasize prosociality, and by various factors such as trust in government, involvement, and demographic factors as moderating variables. Although message appeals does not show any difference by itself, interaction effect is observed between trust in government and message appeals; the rational appeal is more effective to those with low trust in government while the emotional appeal is more effective to those with high trust. No other interaction effect is founded but involvement, gender, and age group show important main effect in policy acceptance; high-involvement group and female group are more favorable in attitude toward prosocial policy and behavior intention compare to the each of counterparts, whereas older group is more favorable in behavior intention.

  • A classical commercial insurance, which is used widely as the risk management methods for risk transferring and risk financing, includes the factors of interests, gambling and uncertainty, In 1985 Islamic Fiqc Academy declared that the classical commercial insurance violates the Islamic fundamental principles and beliefs, alteratively recommending a mutual insurance and takaful. A basic principle of takaful is the mutual aid in the Islamic community. On the basis of mutual aid, takaful participants (insurance policyholder) establishes the takaful fund, which is cooperation fund by participant contribution. Takaful fund is separated from shareholders' fund, and the profit and loss of takaful fund are responsible for takaful policyholder. Ownership and operation right of takaful belong to the takaful participants. In takaful, takaful company takes a role of agent or management operator. Comparing to the classical insurance, takaful has the rights of profit dividend, voting of executives, access to accounting books etc. which are additional favors for business company or individuals as takaful participants. Business companies and individuals should consider to use takaful to transfer risk and to enjoy takaful's additional advantages.

  • 1973년 최초로 서비스를 시작한 GPS는 전 세계 60억명 이상이 사용 중이며 거의 모든 사업에 큰 영향을 미치고 있으며, 자동차, 농업, 해양, 일반 안전, 레저활동, 지형공간정보, 항공, 금융, 통신 등 산업 전반에 걸쳐 경제적 이익이 약 1조4천억 달러에 이르는 글로벌 시스템이라 할 수 있다. 최근에는 미국의 GPS 뿐만 아니라 유럽, 러시아, 중국 등 세계 주요국들은 자국의 독자 위성항법시스템을 구축하고 있으며, PNT 정밀성 향상을 위한 위성항법보강시스템의 개발 또한 주요국 중심으로 이루어지고 있다. 4차산업기술의 발달로 인해 다양한 산업의 상용화와 대중화에 따라 PNT 정보의 고정밀, 고신뢰에 대한 수요도 급증하고 있으며, 이에 대한 응용기술 분야에 대한 시장도 급속하게 성장하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 KASS와 같은 위성항법보강시스템 구축을 추진하고 있으며, 향후 독자 위성항법시스템인 KPS의 개발도 진행중에 있다. 그러나 고도 23,000km에서 송출하는 위성신호의 전파교란·기만에 대한 취약성과, 도심지와 같은 위성신호 수신이 열악한 환경에서는 고정밀·고신뢰 PNT 정보를 제공하기가 현실적으로 어려운 실정이다. 이러한 GPS의 취약성을 보완하기 위해 지상기반의 PNT 정보제공 시스템 구축의 필요성이 증대되고 있으며, 전세계적으로 상호보완적 PNT 시스템의 구축·기술개발에 대한 연구가 다양하게 이루어지고 있다.

Are Academically Gifted Kids More Cooperative? An Analysis of Social Preference and Interactions in Social Dilemma Situations Among Academically Gifted Kids (영재들은 협력도 잘 할까? : 사회적 딜레마에서 영재들의 사회적 선호 및 상호작용 분석)

  • In this study, we investigate social preference of gifted students by analyzing their behaviors in social dilemma situations. We conducted an experimental study using ultimatum games and public goods games with 132 academically gifted middle school students who attended the Ewha-Seodaemun Center for gifted education from 2012 to 2016. We also experimented the same games with 87 regular students for comparative analysis. The result of ultimatum game experiment shows that there is no statistical difference in the proposed share of both groups. Their proposed share ranges from 37% to 38% as expected in other similar studies. However, the rejection rate of the respondents to the proposals with small share are significantly higher among gifted students than among their regular counterparts. This result implies that the gifted students show stronger negative reciprocity, meaning that they tend to punish selfish behaviors even when it takes some costs. In finitely repeated public goods game experiments, the results show that both groups' contribution rates decrease toward the end of the experiments. However, the gifted students show strategic cooperation by attempting to increase the other members' contribution rate within an experimental group. This implies that gifted students tend to care more about how to increase their own expected rewards by reciprocating other students' behaviors.

  • STO-3G level computations were performed on n-propylamine, n-propylamine radical and cis-and trans-ethylene diamines in order to investigate structural contributions of (n${\pi}$/m) and (n-${\sigma}^*$) structures to the energy variations accompanying the conformational changes. It was found that (5${\pi}$/5) and (4${\pi}$/4) structures had attractive and repulsive nonbonded interactions, respectively, which were approximately additive. anti(n-${\sigma}^*$) structures had more stabilzing hyperconjugative interactions than syn(n-${\sigma}^*$) structures, but due to the large internuclear repulsion the net effect was destabilizing inthe former in contrast with the net stabilizing contribution in the latter. Moreover it was found that the stabilizing ${\pi}$-nonbond structure, (5${\pi}$/5) was always cooperatively reinforced by the more stabilizing anti(n-${\sigma}^*$) interaction, whereas the destabilizing (4${\pi}$/4) structure was accompanied by the less stabilizing syn(n-${\sigma}^*$) interaction. This type of cooperativity was found general through-bond interaction of the terminal lone pair lobes split the energy levels into two, $n_+ = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}(n_1 + n_2)$ and $n_- = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}(n_1 - n_2)$, the latter being the lower level, which can be shown using simple overlap patterns of the two lobes with a common vicinal ${\sigma}^*$ orbital.

  • This paper attempts to understand the reality of Netflix on the Korean film distribution market environment, and to verify the possibility of developing domestic content centered on independent films in the OTT market, led by Netflix. The research significance of finding the way for Korean diverse films and independent films that cannot be provided with investment and distribution opportunities in various Korean Wave contents will be studied, and the characteristics of Netflix in the Korean film market will be explored. Netflix disseminates Korean contents such as Korean movies and Korean dramas, contributes to the spread of the Korean Wave, and is re-adjusting the paradigm of the distribution market, raising issues that cause a virtuous cycle of profits, controversy over net usage fees, and flooding of Hollywood movies. Considering the nature of intercultural exchange, the interaction between independent film content, Netflix platform, audience, and global market will expand interactive communication opportunities. In other words, just as Netflix uses the Korean media market to make profits, Korea should also use Netflix to try to expand the global market of Korean film contents (K-Film)and maintain a cultural and economic reciprocal attitude.

Possibility of Intergenerational Exchange in Corporations: A Case Study of Reverse Mentoring on its Purpose and Success Factors (기업 내 세대 교류의 가능성: 국내외 리버스멘토링 (Reverse Mentoring)프로그램 도입 및 성공요소 사례연구)

  • As Korean society enters an aged society, there is an increasing situation in which various generations coexist in the workplace. This study aimed to analyze corporate reverse mentoring in light of generational exchange. Through the case study methods using literature research and interviews, we categorized the objectives of starting reverse mentoring programs in domestic and foreign companies, and analyzed the possibility of generational exchange with the cases of company A in the US and B in Korea extracted by purposive sampling. Based on social exchange theory, organizational age theory, and generational solidarity theory, the analysis framework presented three propositions: 1) mutual benefit 2) balanced contribution, and 3) sustainability. As a result of the case analyses, there were three main objectives of introducing reverse mentoring: learning IT/social media, promoting corporate diversity, and understanding new trends in the younger generation. In the case of A company in the US and B company in Korea, there was a similarity in mutual benefit and balanced contribution. However, regarding sustainability, there was room for improvement in company B in Korea unlike company A in the US. We expect that reverse mentoring will provide important criteria for success in terms of generational exchange within organizations where various generations coexist in the future.

The Impact of Business Scope and Technological Innovation Capability on Firm Performance in SMEs (중소기업의 사업영역과 기술혁신역량이 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of business scope and technological innovation capability(TIC) on firm performance in SMEs. Among the 1,077 SME sample data collected with the help of Korean Industrial Complex Corporation, 228 sample data from capital goods sectors had been selected and analyzed. Several mutiple regression models were developed to test the main and the interaction effects of two independent variables business scope and TIC on SME performance. The empirical analysis show that the number of product lines, one of the two scope variable measured, is positively correlated with the return on sales(ROS). Among the variable of TIC, the number of intellectual property rights(IPRs) is positively correlated with the sales growth rates of SMEs, which the ratio of engineers to total employees is positively correlated with the ROS of SMEs. The results also delineated some interaction effects of business scope and TIC on SME performance. There exists a positive interaction effect of the ratio of engineers to total employees and the number of product lines both on ROS and scales growth rate. The interaction of the number of customers and the number of IPRs positively effects on ROS, and also the interaction of the number of product lines and the number of IPRs are positively related with ROS. Findings of this research indicates that it is necessary for SMEs in capital goods sectors to accumulate technological innovation capability and to expand business scope to improve firm performance. Furthermore, the accumulation of internal TIC should accommodate with the expansion of business scope to gain an improved performance. Particularly, adequate technological innovation capability is required to address the need of expanded customers when enlarging the scope of customers.
