  • Improving the design ability of idea developing and creative problem solving should be started from the primary school. Design education in the primary school should be not education for design but education by design. It helps students can naturally understand the basic concept of design and experience the process of activities. Therefore primary educational circle use the term of 'Design-related activities', or 'Design-Based Education'. It can be applied to variable themes of mathematics, science, music, society as well as Art. On the Basis of these literature review, the traditional design education as a part of the art education is analyzed in two aspects of its contents and behaviors. The contents in design education involve aesthetic·symbolic, useful·functional, and scientific·technological area. And, the basic design behaviors are classified with 'know', 'perceive', 'inquire', and so on. This concept becomes the analytic frame of the present condition of design education in Korean primary school. Through the analysis, it is found that the portion of scientific·technological area in contents and 'inquire' related behaviors are relatively very low. Also, the planning and teaching methods for leading children's opportunity of creative expression are found inadequate. This study proposes the potential capability and the integrative contents of design education in primary school.

And it is also distinguishable from the chaotic surroundings and is the space for religious experience of christian identity we cannot experience in our daily life. Therefore it is very important to investigate its characteristic as the space for religious experience. The important purpose of church building is to make up a worship space, and the chancel in worship space is said to be the core in church building, the center of all worship acts. Especially, today with the tendency of multi-functionalizing and opening in worship space, the chancel in worship space has a more special meaning as spatial, functional and symbolic center. • Folk painting was prevalent among working classes in the cultural territory of chinese characters including Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Other than Gilsangmunja-do(lucky and vulgar illustrated Chinese Character), the most popular of its kind, there are various types of different Munja-do(illustrated Chinese Character) which is more shaped/modeled. Chinese Nianhua style was popular in various parts of China from late Ming Dynasty to early Qing Dynasty, and they were conveyed to neighboring countries after the 17th century, where they adopted unique tradition of each country. Acquiring theme from Chinese characters, these Chinese Nianhua or Munja-do are designed by making images into characters or characters into images. They express the invisible 'Cosmological Taoism' as a visible shape and line. This kind of symbol system, using character as a subject matter, can only be witnessed in the cultural territory of chinese characters by the use of ideograms. It is worth of paying attention today because the uniqueness of each country's style reflects diverse life styles of the contemporary civilization. Specifically, values of Munja-do as a traditional culture may not be underestimated in today's society where culture has become the center of concern. Munja-do in Korea should be carefully examined since Korea has had a very unique Munja-do culture that cannot be found from other countries. Therefore, by comparing Munja-do styles of today's the cultural territory of chinese characters countries, we may enlighten ourselves on our tradition and flourish our cultural contents.

  • Mr. Folman, an Israeli director, used a highly stylized form of animation in a decidedly adult way to make his documentary about the 1982 war in Lebanon, "Waltz With Bashir," in 2008. After 5 years, he has used another distinctive approach, fusing animation with live action in his latest film, a trippy and surreal undertaking called "The Congress." He dismantled the means through parodies, the core of post-modernism art and built a new meaning to create a unique world view and unique aesthetics. In this study, parodies of the modern concept of post-modernism being used as a major strategy in the creation of art have appeared the four characteristics of post-modern parody: 1) intertextuality, 2) dissolution and fusion of genres, and 3) strengthening of irony, and 4) pastiche. This study is characteristic of post-modern parody that discusses the relevance of contemporary parody and postmodernism being developed by analyzing how they appear on the practical work. Furthermore, through analysis of "The Congress", this study discusses the post-modernist world view and the creative way of creating an experimental art with parody.

  • Archival objects produced in relation to the activities of public institutions hold the inexpressible symbolism, historical value, and esthetical value as well in that the values of display and reuse of archives materials in the future are high as figures. The revised law of Archives Act in 2007 has provided a foundation for managing the archival objects in every public organization, by also including archival objects into the category of archives produced and registered in relation to their works. Although it could be seen as a reforming will to aim at the differential approach from the past to recognize the archival objects as records and make the managing will documented, it is still in an unprepared state to define the concepts on archival objects and to have methods to systematically manage and preserve them. Thus this paper has researched on the type classification of archival objects and their evaluation, as way of developing the methods for the management system for archival objects. On the premise that it should be preceded by clear definitions of concepts and distinctive understanding of their types first in order to build up the management system for archival objects, definition and type classification of the archival object have been attempted, based on the actual research materials and the current relevant laws. In addition, this study has analyzed the characteristics of selecting archival objects in order to search for which one they should obtain and manage among archival objects produced and reused in relation to the works of public institutions. On the basis of this, the plans for the national selection system and provision of selecting criteria for the subjects of permanent preservation have been suggested in this study.

  • Among the royal ceremonies of the Joseon Dynasty era, the articles used in the Jinjak ceremony are symbolic icons of their value during the era. It is very important to identify the purpose of the articles whose usage is ambiguous, by referring to various historical records. Moreover, it should be possible to classify the characteristics and the special context of the article during this process. To accomplish this purpose, I examined the articles related to and used in the processes of Jinjak ceremonies of Outer Jinchan of Myeongjeongjeon and Inner Jinchan of Jagyeongjeon, which are part of the Gichuk Jinchan Ceremony performed in February of the 29th year of King Sunjo. Especially, the definition of Jinjak will not just be limited to the action of offering liquor, but will include the whole series of procedures in offering the liquor. This is because the specific action of offering the liquor expresses cultural concepts and values that have meaning within the historical situation and context in the specific action of offering the liquor. There are three characteristics of the articles related to the Jinjak process of Outer Jinchan and Inner Jinchan of Gichuk Jinchan Ceremony. First, the articles of Jinjak are ranked strictly exactly according to the social status rankings. Second, the Jinjak articles are arranged for their symbolic meanings rather than their purpose. Third, the articles of Jinjak are symbolic icons expressing the values inherent in the process of offering liquor. Recently, there are events reviving the royal court banquet and the increase of interest in the royal culture. It such a situation, the systematic examination of articles of royal court banquets will be a process needed to restore the royal ceremony correctly in the future, and will be the foundation for studying the royal culture of the Joseon dynasty era.

  • In 2019, SUV sales surpassed sedans in the domestic sales market with phenomenal domestic sales. The strength of SUVs around the world is expected to continue in the future. South Korea's K-company aggressively launched small SUVs in the SUV market. Its simple lineup is recognized as a brand image, not as a SUV. It is time to evaluate this. Therefore, it influences the purchasing decisions of potential customers and buyers of small SUVs through the evaluation of design images of small SUVs in Korea. Rather than the functional properties of the SUV model, it is purchased by emotional characteristics, brand symbolism, and image. Subconsciousness of the purchasing psychology of the end consumer was used by metaphor extraction techniques. Customers wanted to study the evaluation of small SUV design images that fit their needs. We wanted to see if consumers who intend to purchase or purchase small SUVs in Korea had a connection with the image of design of small SUVs in Korea. The conclusion of the study was extracted through ZMET, a metaphor extraction technique, with the latent consciousness of the primary ambiguous message from the consumer's feeling and representation of the image. Therefore, based on the results of this study, we hope that the images presented in SUVs in the future will be used as a design guide in the development of small SUVs to influence customer thinking and behavior.

  • Currently, urban identity is a corporate management strategy of the past, and it includes the unique history and cultural heritage of the region, and it is expected to enhance competitiveness and locality. In response, the city's identity design of 31 municipalities in Gyeonggi Province is moving away from the past, building a futuristic, concise and modern image, and building differentiated identity using geometric artificial motifs. However, despite the presence of urban identity in the past, Symbolmark's boundaries and benchmarks are becoming increasingly ambiguous as it replaces CI or acts as CI and BI by developing new BIs instead of renewals. Moreover, there are cases where the slogan containing vision is used as BI, which requires professional CIP management by presenting the status analysis and direction of municipal governments in Gyeonggi Province. Thus, in this study, the theoretical background analysis and academic study of 31 municipalities in Gyeonggi Province were conducted, and the final analysis space was analyzed by schematizing how the essential meaning of symbolism is expressed and interpreted.

  • This study examined the type, the structural shapes, and the representation of Sandae, which was the stage for traditional performing arts and constructed for the purpose of imperial processions, ritual ceremonies, banquets, etc. from the Goryeo Dynasty to the Late Joseon Dynasty, and the implications of Seokgasan, which was built in the same era. First, through the history and meaning of Sandae, it was confirmed that Sandae has a homogeneity with Seokgasan, which attempted to imitate the shape of "Mountain" in the outer space. The construction of Sandae was deeply related to the tradition of famous mountains. This is consistent with the fact that 'Famous mountains and lakes" in China was symbolically replicated on the Seokgasan in the front yard of the "Cheongyeongak" in the Goryeo Dynasty. Second, Sandae and Seokgasan differed in their structural shapes, materials, and production methods, but they were used as a stage background for national events by constructing in the shape of the mountain, and appeared in various types. It can be seen that the interest in gardens and art of those days has resulted in various formative expressions of nature through the shape and symbolic meaning of the Sandae that mimics the mountain. Third, it is presumed that the square pond with lotus flowers, which is believed to have been located in the center of the garden of Shin Jaehyo's old house, and the Sugak and Seokgasan adjacent to it were not only elements of the garden, but also functioned as a background for the training and performance stage of Shin Jaehyo's students.

The research findings are briefed as follow: First, the different Buddhas enshrined in sanctums can be categorized and explained in accordance with their body(體), form(相) and use(用) based on Awakening of Mahayana Faith. In particular, Sakyamuni Buddha is for form(相), Amitabha Buddha and Avalokiteśvara for use(用), and Vairocana Buddha for body(體).
