  • A leakage canceller and adaptive algorithm for FMCW Radar is presented. Because a strong leakage signal causes various problems in the transceiver and digital processor, specific FMCW radars are in need of a leakage canceller. The leakage canceller has an adaptive structure and the algorithm calculates the prediction vector and learns the adaptive coefficient simultaneously. The proposed algorithm an improvement of 10 dB in the cancellation performance.

  • In order to improve readability, a leakage-signal canceller has been proposed in UHF-band RFID readers. The proposed canceller is composed of two blocks: an environment monitoring block for detection of Tx and RX power levels and a leakage cancellation block. The leakage canceller consists of directional-couplers, digital attenuators and phase shifters based on the feed-forward scheme. The leakage canceller is located between antenna and reader. An improved experimental characterization of the scheme is presented with results from the reader operating in the Korean RFID frequency band, conforming the validity of the approach with more than 29 dB of leakage cancellation.

Improvement of Electromagnetic Shielding Structure for Reduction of the Leakage Magnetic Field in WPT System (WPT 시스템의 누설자계 감소를 위한 전자파 차폐구조 개선)

  • In this paper, we propose an improved magnetic field shielding structure to reducing the magnetic field generated in the wireless power transfer system operating at a low frequency band. The proposed structure consists of the magnetic material and the conductive material, magnetic field cancelling effect for power transfer is minimized while improving the leakage magnetic field cancelling effect by optimizing the various design parameters in the proposed structure. We analyzed and verified the efficiency of the wireless power transfer system and the reduction effect of the leakage magnetic field through computer simulation and measurement. Analysis results show that power transfer efficiency of the wireless power transfer system utilizing the proposed structure is 77 %, which is maintained at the conventional power transfer efficiency. In addition, compared with the structure maintaining high power transfer efficiency, leakage magnetic field strength is reduced to 29~37 % at the nearest point.

  • A magnetic cable that can safely deliver high frequency AC electric power in flammable or sensitive workplaces by preventing from arcs and electric shocks is firstly proposed in this paper. Several new magnetic cable structures with magnetic shields, which are composed of such cancel coil, cancel copper plate, and cancel copper pipe, were compactly implemented by considering and analyzing fringe field and thus the parallel leakage flux is drastically reduced. The output power and efficiency of a prototype magnetic cable with 1.5 m length and 5 cm gap were measured as 353.8W and 68%, where the source current and switching frequency were 10 $A_{rms}$ and 20 kHz, respectively. The proposed magnetic cables are fully analyzed and verified by finite-element method (FEM) simulations and experiments. The results are in a good agreement.

  • This article investigates the software acquisition problems as two dimensional : custom/pacakage and insource /outsource. The analysis adopts the cost-benefit frame work in explaining software acquisition problems and takes two leveled approach. The first level examines the cost-benefit relationship of the determinants affecting both dimensions, and these determinants are derived from theories of transaction cost, incomplete contracting, and agency. The second level focuses on the impact of general cost-benefit frivers of the software acquisition decisions. The results facilitate a broader and more detailed understanding on the software acquisition problems.

  • 현대에 이르러 초음속 운영 영역에서의 항공기에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 음속 폭음 현상과 충격파 현상에서 야기된 높은 항력 및 연료 효율성 저하로 인하여 그 한계에 부딪치고 있다. Busemann 복엽 익형은 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위한 형상이며, 상하 형상에 의한 파동 상쇄효과 및 파동 감소효과를 통해 충격파의 강도와 음속 폭음 효과를 감소시키는 형상이다. 하지만 본 익형은 탈설계 조건에서 항력 계수가 급격하게 증가하는 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON_CFD를 이용하여 Busemann 복엽 익형의 주변 유동 특성에 대하여 면밀한 고찰을 수행하였다. 우선 Busemann 복엽 익형의 초기 형상에 대한 유동 조건별 해석을 통하여 탈설계 조건에서의 항력 성능 저하 문제에 대한 고찰을 하였다. 이후 3개의 형상 변수에 대한 매개 변수 연구를 통하여 익형의 각 형상 변수가 탈설계 영역 및 해당 영역에서의 최대 항력 계수에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰을 수행하였으며, 이를 통하여 기존 형상보다 좁은 탈설계 구간을 가지고, 최대 항력 계수가 약 34.8% 감소한 부스만 복엽 익형을 설계하였다.

Optical power stabilization of a laser diode by constant voltage (정전압 구동에 의한 레이저 다이오드의 광출력 안정화)

  • The optical power drift due to temperature variation of a laser diode driven by constant voltage is different from one driven by constant current. When a laser diode is driven by constant current, the optical output decreases as the temperature increases because the population inversion decreases. However, When it is driven by constant voltage, injection current increases with temperature rise, which in turn increases the optical power. As the result, the optical power variation reduces. Experimental results show that when these two components are almost equal and cancel each other, the optical power variation coefficient is very small and the optical output is stable.
