A Study on the Implementation of Integrated Management System for CATV Network (CATV망 관리를 위한 통합관리 시스템 구현 사례 연구)

  • This study is about the development of a system related to the CATV network. It intends to develop an automatically centralized Headend system and a distributive system to remove the ineffectiveness of the established manual system. To achieve this goal, we took a put of bandwidth, which is not used for the transmission of video signals in the established frequency bandwidth, and used it for the transmission and receiver of controlling signals. By this way we could design a system of transmission and receiver and a automatic distributive system. We developed an information management system for the 9600bps CATV using RS-232 of forward/backward communication and backward communication. Based on window, It consist of ID generation, transmitter/receiver, control and backup part.

Suboptimal Adaptive Handover Method Considering Uplink and Downlink Signals (상.하향 링크 신호를 고려한 준 최적의 적응적 하드 핸드오버 기법)

  • In this paper, we address the design of adaptive handover schemes based on the signal strength measurement for cellular communications systems. Conventional handover algorithms, which are based only on the downlink measurement, cannot guarantee the required uplink quality because uplink channel can differ greatly from downlink channel quality. Therefore, we proposes a new suboptimal adaptive handover algorithm that considers both the uplink and downlink channel quality in order to achieve the best cell selection gains when there is a wide difference between the uplink and downlink signal quality. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better performance compared to conventional handover schemes.

Effect of Nonlinear Power Amplifier and Carrier Frequency Offset on OFDMA Systems for WiBro Services (휴대 인터넷을 위한 OFDMA 시스템에서 비선형 전력 증폭기와 반송파 주파수 편차의 영향)

  • We evaluate the BER performance of OFDMA system for Wibro services in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. In the uplink OFDMA, nonlinear amplifier and frequency offset introduce larger BER degradation than in the downlink. We explain the reason and obtain the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance.

  • This paper pertains to the embodiment of the CATV network devices, and Automatically Centralized device was embodied in order to solve the inefficiency of the existing passive device. The frequency bandwidth, which don't use the part of CATV on signal of video, using frequency bandwidth of the control and systemize in automatic distributive system, the communication which depends on two way of forward/backward communication and backward communication/materialize in the system of unification management of 9600bps using RS-232.

  • In this paper, we describe how to set up/down step-size in open loop power control for WiBro reverse link. Since open loop power control does not use feedback information, it is difficult to efficiently use wireless resource with accurate power control. We also provides a method of estimating levels of noise and interference. With numerical investigation, asymmetric up/down power-control step-size is shown to be promising to achieve high sector throughput as well as low error rate.

  • 제3세대 이동 통신 시스템에서 상향 링크와 하향 링크 사이에 불균형적인 타임 슬롯 할당이 가능한 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 비대칭적인 트래픽을 효과적으로 분배하는데 적합하다. 게다가 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 슬롯이 시간 영역과 코드 영역에서 정의되기 때문에 유효 자원의 statistical multiplexing이 매우 효과적이다. 그러나 상향 링크와 하향 링크사이의 트래픽의 비대칭성을 반영하기 위해서 타임 슬롯을 최적으로 할당시킬 수 있는 동적 경계선이 요구된다. 본 논문에서 슬롯의 하향 링크부분이 이동국의 접근 시도의 정도에 따라 최대화되는 새로운 최적의 TDD 경계선 제어 움직임 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에서 이동국의 평균 접근 시도가 미리 정의된 상한 임계치를 초과할 경우, TDD 경계선은 평균 접근 시도가 다른 하한 임계치 아래로 내려갈 때까지 프레임의 중앙에 위치한다. 본 논문에서 모의실험 결과를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 TDD 경계선 알고리즘보다 데이터 트래픽의 평균 접근 지연과 음성 트래픽의 블록킹 확률 측면에서 훨씬 더 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 입증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 DAVIC 표준안에 근거하여 주파수 대역폭이 하향스트림 120MHz와 상향스트림 60MHz로 디지털 LMDS 서비스 망이 구축되었을 때, 하향스트림과 상향스트림 구조 및 프레임 관계에 대하여 기술하고, 이를 기반으로 하여 LMDS 상에서 멀티미디어 서비스 제공시 음성:전용회선:데이터를 10%:30%:60% 비율로 가정하고 서비스별 수용 가능한 가입자 채널 용량을 산출하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid two-stage AWG-based WDM-PON architecture in order to overcome the limitations of the existing PONs and single AWG-based WDM-PONs as well as to accomodate the new services and the expandability of network. The proposed architecture employs two-stage AWG for downstream transmission and single AWG and combiners for upstream one at RN. It also employs the separated fiber with multi-wavelength for both direction. It leads to high scalability, low cost, and high capacity for transmission. In downstream transmission, the transparency can be guaranteed since the traffic is transmitted to ONU through each channel. However, several ONUs share the channel for upstream one by using WDM/TDMA scheme because the asymmetrical feature of networks is considered. The performance of the proposed one is evaluated and compared with other architectures in terms of cost, network capacity and up/downstream bandwidth.

Analysis of Jamming Interference Characteristics in Nonlinear DRT Satellite Transponder System (비선형 DRT 위성 중계시스템의 재밍 간섭 특성 분석)

  • For the DRT satellite transponder system, BER and total SNR to be required in the earth terminal are evaluated under the condition of HPA nonlinearity in the FBJ(full-band jamming) or PBJ(partial-band jamming) of uplink and downlink. In case that the satellite Inter bandwidth( Ws) is same to the earth terminal bandwidth($W_r$),in conditions of uplink JSR 10[dB], downlink JSR 10[dB] and processing gain 30[dB], linear transponder system shows that uplink SNR needs to be 14.2[dB] to achieve the total SNR 10[dB] requirement in downlink SNR 14[dB]. However, Nonlinear transponder system with OBO(output backoff) 2[dB] requires 20.1 [dB] uplink SNR. From the above results, the nonlinearity of HPA in the satellite transponder causes the degradation of BER performance so that it is of interest to consider the power increase.
