Neutral salt soluble [0.9% NaCl (Fr. NaCl)], hot water soluble (Fr. HW) and methanol soluble (Fr. MeOH) materials were extracted from Daedaleopsis tricolor. In vitro cytotoxicity tests, Fr. HW was not cytotoxic against cancer cell lines such as Sarcoma 180, HepG2 and HT-29 at the concentration of $0{\sim}2,000\;{\mu}g/ml$, while Fr. NaCl and Fr. MeOH were cytotoxic to the cell lines. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl showed antitumor effect with life prolongation of 77.4% in mice inoculated with Sarcoma 180. Fr. NnCl and Fr. HW improved proliferation of spleen cells and the immunopotentiation activity of B lymphocyte by increasing spleen cells and the alkaline phosphatase activity by $1.7{\sim}2.4\;and\;2.2{\sim}8.7$ folds, respectively. Fr, NaCl generated $90\;{\mu}M$ of nitric oxide (NO) when cultured with RAW 264.7 at the concentration of $50\;{\mu}g/ml$, while lipopolysaccharide, a positive control, produced $79{\mu}M$. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl (50 mg/kg body weight) increased the numbers of peritoneal exudate cells and circulating leukocytes by 10 folds and two folds, respectively, than in the control group. The antitumor effect of D, tricolor was likely due to immunopotentiation activity.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Lespedeza maximowiczii var. tricolor Nakai (LMTN) on glucose metabolism. LMTN extract significantly enhanced the glucose uptake and lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes compared with control. Also, LMTN extract in 3T3-L1 adipocytes significantly increased the protein expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)γ, insulin receptor substrate-1, and glucose transporter (GLUT)4. The regulatory effect on glucose uptake or insulin signal transduction of LMTM extract was lower than troglitazone or pinitol such as the positive control, but increased PPARγ activation. Additionally, LMTM extract has an insulin-mimetic effect. In db/db mice, LMTN extract (250 mg/kg BW) significantly reduced water and food intake, blood glucose, and level of plasma triglyceride and total cholesterol. Furthermore, the expression of PPARã and GLUT4 mRNA in adipose or muscle tissue effectively was increased by oral treatment of LMTN extract. Thus, our results suggest that LMTN extract improves the glucose metabolism through PPARγ and insulin-mimetic effect in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and db/db mice.

수은 원자의 6 1So - 6 3P1 - 6 2D2, 3D1, 2 - continuum 간의 다단계 광이온화 과정을 수은 hollow cathode lamp를 사용하여 optogalvanic 효과를 관찰하므로써 연구하였다. 단색 단일공명, 이색 단일공명, 이색 이중공명 및 삼색 이중공명 여기과정에 대한 optogalvanic 신호의 time profile 과 스펙트럼을 관측하여 분석했으며, optogalvanic 스펙트럼으로부터 6 3P1 - 61, 3D1 전이들의 상대적 진동차 세기를 측정하였다.

삼성전자는 LCD 방식에 이은 3세대 프로젝션 모델로 평가받는 DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) 기술을 채용한 43‘’, 50‘’, 61‘’ DLP (Digital Light Processing) 프로젝션 TV를 개발 시판하고 있다. DMD 기술이란 921,600개의 미세한 거울들이 신호에 따라 반사각도를 조절하며 이미지를 구현하는 기술이다. 삼판식 프로젝션 시스템의 단점을 개선, 경박단소와 저가격화를 위하여 단판식을 이용하는 DLP 프로젝션 TV 의 경우 Red, Green, Blue 로 이뤄진 칼라휠을 회전시킴으로서 DMD 위에 연속적으로 삼색의 영상을 재생하여 색을 분리 합성한다. This study has been conducted to see influence of fibroid hepatic tissue on alpha-tocopherol and its histologic changes. Experimental groups were divided into 3 groups, one where fibrosis was caused by carbon tetrachloride and the other where alpha-tocopherol and carbon tetrachloride were administered together and another normal group. Results of test showed fibrosis reaction is weak compared to the group administered with carbon tetrachloride in the group administered with alpha-tocopherol. In conclusion, we could observe proliferation of collagen fibers through Hematoxylin&Eosin and Massom trichrom dye and increase in ALT, AST, ALP in fibroid hepatic tissues, indicating convergence anti-oxidation reaction by changes of alpha-tocopherol intake. Thus, it is considered that we can expect to utilize alpha-tocopherol as secondary treatment and find clinical meanings of diagnosis on hepatic diseases through results of this study.

This paper is the twelfth contribution towards taxonomic studies on Cercospora and allied genera, and contains ten species of Korean cercosporoid fungi; viz., Cercospora brunkii, C. deutziae, C. granuliformis, C. hostae, Mycovellosiella nattrassii, Pseudocercospora chrysanthemicola, P. geicola, P. mississippiensis, P. viburnicylindrici, and Ramularia moehringiae. Morphological characteristics of taxonomic value are described and illustrated for these species to contribute towards a mycological monograph of Korean cercosporoid fungi.

The characteristics of image quality of a color CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor are studied by changing the contrast and brightness levels. The resolution is assessed by SQRI (square root integral) measured at 9 different combinations of the contrast and brightness levels. The chromaticity coordinates and luminances of red-green-blue channels as a function of the digital value are measured at these combinations and the relationships among the constant-channel chromaticity, color gamut, maximum luminance of a white point with the channel independence are analyzed. From the results, the optimized combination of levels is obtained.
