Effect of Capsaicin and Silicone Resin Treatment on Inhibition of Thermal Oxidation in Frying Oil (Capsaicin과 규소수지 처리가 튀김유의 가열산화 억제에 미치는 영향)

  • Sample frying oil was manufactured from simple mixing treatment of capsicum. butter flavor and silicone resin. the amount were 0.20, 0.15% ($\omega$/$\omega$) and 10 rpm in soybean oil, respectively. This frying oil was confirmed to improving of heat stability as well as removal effect of meat flavor. Frying oil obtained from treatment of capsicum and silicone resin was appeared, acid value and smoke point were 0.301, 232$\^{C}$, than its value in the non-treated soybean oil were 0.385. 220$\^{C}$, respectively, in the case of continuous frying at 185$\pm$2$\^{C}$. These effects were likely to according both anti-oxidation effect of capsicum and inhibition of free fatty acids and smoke production from anti-expansion of surface area in frying oil. Meat flavor and burnt flavor of oil in the frying oil and fried foods were weakened by treating of butter flavor(0.15%, $\omega$/$\omega$), this effect will be produced to new type\`s frying oil product.

Fabrication and Characterization of C/SiC Composite by Electron Beam Curing (전자선 가교 방법을 이용한 탄소/탄화규소 복합재 제조 및 특성)

  • Carbon fabric-reinforced silicon carbide composites (C/SiC) have attracted a considerable attention for high temperature structural application because of their outstanding oxidation resistance property and thermal shock resistance. In this study, we reported on the preparation of C/SiC composites by the polymer impregnation and pyrolysis (PIP) method. For this, polycarbosilane solution was impregnated into the carbon fabric and then cured by electron beam irradiation under argon atmosphere. Afterwards, the cured composite was pyrolyzed at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under argon atmosphere to produce the C/SiC composite. The porosity and density of the C/SiC composite were 13.5% and $2.44\;g/cm^3$, respectively, when the impregnation of the carbon fabric with the 30 wt% polycarbosilane solution conducted four times. In addition, in the isothermal experiment at $1500\;^{\circ}C$ in air for 5 h, the 95.9 wt% of the C/SiC composite was remained, indicating that the prepared C/SiC composite has a outstanding oxidation resistance.

Chemical Vapor Nucleation of Tungsten from $WF_6-SiH_4$ on Silicon Dioxide Surface (산화규소 표면위에서 $WF_6-SiH_4$ 화학증착에 의한 텅스텐 핵의 생성)

  • The rate of tungsten nuclei formation from $WF_6-SiH_4$ on silicon dioxide surface was measured. The nucleation rate became faster at high deposition temperature, low carrier gas flow rate and high deposition pressure. Also the rate became faster at the downstream of the oxide surface compared to the oxide surface near the inlet. Shape and cross-sectional view of the tungsten nuclei were observed with SEM and their chemical compositions were also determined.

  • 고온에서의 내열, 내산화, 내부식 등의 한계성을 극복하기 위하여 새로운 고온재료의 개발과 함께 표면특성 향상을 위한 코팅기술에 대한 연구가 계속 되어 왔다. 현재 선진국에서는 C/C복합재료를 비롯하여 $Si_3N_4$, SiC 및 SiC/SiC계 CFCC등의 규소계 비산화물 세라믹재료 등에도 표면에 내식, 내마모, 열차폐 및 내산화성에 견딜 수 있는 코팅층을 형성시켜, 표면에서의 산화, 열응력, 및 내산화성 등에 대한 특성평가 및 최적의 코팅층에 대한 연구가 진행중에 있으며 향후 국내에서도 육성해야할 중요한 기술분야이다.

Development of Environmental-friendly Cleaning Agents Utilizing Organic Acids for Removal of Scale on the Wall of Cleaning Beds and Distribution Reservoirs in the Waterworks (유기산을 이용한 상수도 정수장 및 배수지 벽면 스케일 세척용 친환경 세정제 개발)

  • In this study, an environmental-friendly cleaning agent utilizing organic acids and various additives has been developed and applied to the field for removal of scale deposited on the cleaning beds or distribution reservoirs of the waterworks. As an analytical result of scale on the cleaning beds, we found that it consists of mainly metallic oxides such as $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, and MnO. Malic acid, malonic acid, and citric acid showed relatively better solvency on $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, and MnO except $SiO_2$ among various organic acids. Mixed organic acid solutions of malic acid, malonic acid, and citric acid were prepared with certain weight ratios and their solvencies on mixed metal oxides of $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, and MnO were investigated. The experimental results showed that an 10% mixed organic acid solution prepared with weight ratio of malic acid : malonic acid : citric acid = 6 : 2 : 2 were found to have best scale solvency power of about 29%. The formulated cleaning agents with a small amount of nonionic surfactant showed much better solvency on mixed oxides than mixed organic solution alone. Especially, the formulated cleaning agent with 0.2 wt% LA-7 surfactant appeared to have best scale removal efficiency of about 35%. However, the formulated cleaning agent with disinfectants such as NaClO, $H_2O_2$ and $Ca(ClO)_2$ showed poor solvency on mixed oxides. It is inferred that surfactants are able to improve scale removal efficiency due to their capability of emulsification, and disinfectants cause to degrade scale solvency in water because of their oxidation. Based on these basic experimental results, formulated cleaning agents have been prepared with mixed organic acid solution, nonionic surfactants, and disinfectants and successfully applied to removal of scales on the cleaning beds and distribution reservoir at city D waterworks.

  • 최근 전자재료분야 중 고집적 소자를 다루는 분야에서는 산화규소 유전박막의 두께가 얇아짐에 따라 상부전극과 하부기판 사이에서 발생하는 누설전류가 큰 문제가 되었다. 따라서 이를 극복하기 위해 고유전상수를 가진 두꺼운 유전박막을 사용하기 시작하였는데, 그 중 대표적 인 것이 하프늄옥사이드(HfO2)와 알루미나(A12O3)이다. HfO2의 장점은 큰 유전상수를 갖는다는 것이고, A1203의 장점은 열적 안정성 이 뛰어나며, 높은 bandgap에너지를 갖는 것인데, 이 둘의 장점을 살려서 보다 편리한 방법으로 박막을 증착한 것이 바로 HfAlO이다.

구리 폐촉매 재처리

  • 동제련 공정중 Smelting에서 SiO2가 없으면 산화에 의한 생성물은 Molten Cu-Fe-O 'Oxysulphide' 와 Solid Magnetite가 된다. 이 생성물은 Cu-rich Liquid와 Cu-dilute Liquid로 분리가 불가능하다. Smelting의 목적이 Cu가 높은 Matte와 산화된 불순물의 효과적인 분리에 있으므로 이와 같은 분리가 불가능한 혼합상태를 분리해 주어야 한다. 이때 SiO2가 첨가되면 Cu-rich 상인 Matte가 FeO-rich상인 Slag로의 분리가 가능해진다. 이러한 의미에서 동제련에 있어서 규사의 성분은 매우 중요하며 현재 재생사를 규사로 대체 사용하고 있다. 한편 실리콘 모노머 합성 공정인 금속 규소와 접촉 물질(Contact Mass, 구리촉매와 조촉매)을 반응시켜 (Si+CH3Cl ${\rightarrow}$ (CH3)2SiCl3) 실리콘 모노머를 생산하는 공정중 반응이 끝난 접촉물질인 구리 폐촉매가 발생되는데 주요성분이 Cu 12%, Si80%로 재생사와 유사하여 동제련에 투입 가능 여부를 판단하기 위하여 각 공정에서의 용융실험을 통하여 결론을 도출하였고, 실 조업 Test를 거쳐 처리하게 되므로 구리 회수 및 폐기물로써의 매립을 중지 할 수 있었다.

The dielectric properties of triple SiO thin film using spectroscopic ellipsometer (Spectroscopic ellipsometer를 이용한 삼원 SiO박막의 증착조건에 따른 유전율 특성)

  • SiO thin films are deposited by evaporator the refractive index of wave length, photon energy and the absorptive rate of these films are measured by spectroscopic ellipsometer. It is derived the absorptive rate and permitivity of SiO thin films from the equations that calculating the refractive index. And the result show good agreement with the calculated values and experimental values. As a result, the wave length of light is increased in the condition that the angle of incidence is fixed on SiO thin film, the basic absorption and the absorption impurities are found in the low wave length (below 450 nm in this study) and the reflective absorption and conductive absorption is increased by the form of exponential function over the low wavelength. The absorptive rate is increased by increased the angle of incidence and thickness of SiO film for the insulating layer. As the thickness of SiO film is increased, the value of complex permitivity is decreasing and as wave length of incidence is increased., the value of dielectric is linearly increasing.

  • The expressions for ellipsometric constants of a sample covered with two thick films are derived, where incoherent superposition of multiply reflected lights inside thick films is properly considered in the frame of the rotating analyzer ellipsometry. The derived expressions are successfully applied to the analysis of a silicon wafer with a thin silicon dioxide film on it, which is placed beneath a cover glass and an air gap.
