A Study on the Impact of Social Workers' Job Satisfaction: Focusing on Individual and Organizational Factors (사회복지사의 직무만족도 영향에 관한 연구: 개인적 요인과 조직요인을 중심으로)

  • 본 연구에서는 사회복지시설에 근무하고 있는 사회복지사의 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 개인적 요인과 조직요인의 주요변수를 검증하여 사회복지사의 직무만족도를 높일 수 있는 정책적, 실천적 방안을 모색하기 위해 진행되었다. 분석자료는 2017년 사회복지 종사자의 보수수준 및 근로여건 실태조사 패널데이터 중 사회복지사 자격증을 갖고 근무하고 있는 사회복지사 8,075명을 분석에 사용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 사회복지사의 직무만족도는 보통이상(3.40점)이었다. 둘째, 사회복지사의 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 개인적 요인으로 성별, 연령대, 결혼지위, 이직의도로 나타났고, 조직요인으로 총 보수액, 노동강도 대비 보수수준, 인권보장정도, 시설안전도, 시설유형 변인이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

The Correlation between the Job Characteristics, Psychological Wellbeing, and Organizational Commitment of Workers in Social Welfare Organizations Using Spss program (Spss프로그램을 이용한 사회복지시설 종사자의 직무특성, 심리적 안녕감, 조직몰입 간의 영향관계)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between the job characteristics, psychological wellbeing, and organizational commitment of workers in social welfare organizations. The subjects were 275 workers of social welfare organizations in Y city, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The analysis were frequency, reliability, correlation, and regression using the SPSS Program. The results of the study, analyzing the effects of job characteristics on organizational commitment showed that authority, harmony, and autonomy had positive effects on organizational commitment. Analyzing the effects of job characteristics on psychological wellbeing showed that authority and harmony had positive effects on psychological wellbeing, but autonomy was not. The organizational commitment to the effects of job characteristics on psychological wellbeing was analyzed as the partial mediated effect. The implications of this study are expected to be utilized as baseline data in developing programs for improving organizational commitment for the psychological wellbeing of social welfare organizations workers.

The Effects of Social Welfare Center Worker's Public Service Motivation on Organizational Performance (사회복지관 종사자들의 공공봉사동기가 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of public service motivation on organizational performance and suggest the theoretical and policy implications. For this purpose, this study measured the public service motivation and organizational performance of social welfare center workers, set up the study model to analyze the relationships between the public service motivation and organizational performance, and tested hypothesis through questionnaire analysis. The analytical results show that the public service motivation and organizational performance of social welfare center workers are relatively high on the whole. And attraction to policy making, commitment to public interest, compassion, and self-sacrifice as the elements of public service motivation appear to have significant effects on organizational performance. In this study, some theoretical and policy implications are introduced basing on the analytical results.

A Mixed Study on the Improvement of Human Rights Education for Workers in Welfare Facilities for the Disabled (장애인복지시설 종사자 인권교육 개선에 관한 통합연구)

  • This study is to explore the awareness of human rights and human rights education of workers in welfare facilities for the disabled from various aspects by using Creswell's mixed methodology. Although 10 years have passed since the statutory compulsory human rights education in welfare facilities for the disabled was implemented, there is still a limit to containing practical contents that can be applied to the welfare field for the disabled. Based on this reality, this study intends to examine in depth what human rights education is perceived by workers in welfare facilities for the disabled. As a result of the study, in the qualitative analysis, human rights in the field of social welfare practice, the perception of human rights education and human rights instructors, the direction of effective human rights education development, and the creation of a human rights-friendly community were presented as major issues. In the quantitative analysis, a survey was conducted targeting the welfare facilities of the disabled in Seongnam City to understand the general status of human rights education and the specific conditions of human rights education including the educational environment. Based on the results, including the results of qualitative analysis, a development direction for statutory compulsory human rights education for workers in welfare facilities for the disabled was proposed.

The Effect of the Human Relations of Employees in Welfare Facilities for the Disabled on Turnover Intent: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction (장애인복지시설 종사자의 인간관계가 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 직무만족의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze the relationship between the human relations and the turnover intent of employees in community centers for the disabled. This also examines the mediating effect of job satisfaction between the human relations and the turnover intent. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted to employees in community centers for the disabled in Chungnam and Daejeon areas. And the 376 data was used for analysis. The results of this research are as follows : 1) the human relations and the job satisfaction had negative statistic association with the turnover intent of employees in community centers for the disabled. 2) the job satisfaction was found to partially mediate between the human relations and the turnover intent. Based on the results of this study, several suggestions can be presented to decrease the turnover intent in terms of the improving of the human relations and the job satisfaction of employees in community centers for the disabled.

Relationships among Fatigue, Musculoskeletal Pain and Job Satisfaction in Rehabilitation Center Employees (장애인 복지관 종사자의 피로, 근골격계 통증 및 직무만족도의 관계)

  • This is a descriptive research was to find out fatigue, musculoskeletal pain and job satisfaction in rehabilitation centers employees. The research subject was 199 rehabilitation center employees, and the collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. The results revealed that the significant predictors of job satisfaction for rehabilitation center employees were working duration(β=-.033, p=.010), fatigue(β=-.051, p=.015), and musculoskeletal pain(β=-.020, p=.047), explaining 8.4% of the variation in job satisfaction(F=5.549, p<.001). These results can be recommended as preliminary data for preventing and managing fatigue and musculoskeletal pain of rehabilitation centers employees who play an important role in the community.

A Qualitative Case Study on Rights-Based Social Work Practice in a Residential Facility for People with Intellectual Disabilities (인권관점에 기초한 사회복지실천 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구 - 장애인거주시설의 종사자 경험을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to understand the experiences of rights-based social work practice in a residential facility for people with intellectual disabilities. A representative residential facility practicing a human rights perspective was selected by recommendation of professional groups. Using a qualitative case study method, data was collected and analysed. In detail, it explores the experiences of rights-based social work practice at both organizational and individual levels respectively, and then discusses ethical dilemmas that arise from workers in the process of rights-based social work practice. According to results at the organizational level, rights-based social work practice of the residential facility began from workers' interests in needs of users with intellectual disabilities. Some trials to apply human rights in social work practice resulted in regulations for people with intellectual disabilities and stepped up organizational culture on human rights perspectives. And, at the individual level, self determination and choice of users with intellectual disabilities were stressed among various forms of human rights. As the results of rights-based social work practice, it appeared to be improved for the participation of the users, workers' human rights sensitivity, and qualities of rights-based activities. However, ethical dilemmas still existed. Hence, rights-based social work practice should understand a process of dynamic interaction between users and workers, which require workers to endeavor continuously. This study is significant in that it explored rights-based social work practice, focusing on field experiences for the first time in Korea, and suggested practical tasks to settle it down in the future.

Structural Relationship between Working Environment, Manager's Trust, and Service Quality of Workers in Elderly Medical Welfare Facilities (노인의료복지시설 종사자들의 근무환경과 관리자 신뢰, 서비스 질과의 구조적 관계)

  • This study aims to establish a research model to analyze the structural relationship between the working environment of the elderly medical welfare facility workers, the trust of the manager, and the quality of service. As a result, first, it was found that there was a significant causal relationship among service quality in the working environment of the elderly medical welfare facility workers. Second, it was found that there was a significant causal relationship between the working environment and the trust of managers of the elderly medical welfare facility workers. Therefore, in order to achieve the goal of the elderly medical welfare facility and improve the quality of service, it is necessary to create a working environment and establish a trust relationship among members. In addition, in order to cultivate competency and provide high-quality services for the elderly medical welfare facility workers, managers need to understand the individual characteristics of members, and to assign duties according to roles, accurate division of duties and personnel management are required.

The Relationships among Work Stress, Burnout, and Turnover Intentions of Child Welfare Employees (아동복지 종사자들의 직무 스트레스 요인, 소진 및 이직의도의 관계)

  • This study examined the direct or indirect effects through burnout of sources of work stress of child welfare employees on turnover intentions. In addition, the study investigated the moderating effects of stress coping resources, which was hypothesized to buffer the negative effects of the sources of work stress on burnout. The study data were collected from 190 social workers in foster care services and child protective services. As a statistical method, structural equation model was employed. The study results showed that sources of work stress affect indirectly though raising the level of burnout. The study did not find the moderating effects of stress coping resources. Based on the results, implications for child welfare practice were discussed.
