Exploring the Potential of ChatGPT in Advertising Photography: A Case Study and Validity Research on Elements in Each Production Stage (광고사진 제작에서 ChatGPT의 활용 가능성 탐색: 사례 분석 및 제작 단계별 요소의 타당성 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed the potential application and validity of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence technology currently gaining attention across various fields, for the creation of advertising photographs. To do this, we examined the relationship between the visual elements of advertising photographs and language, and investigated use cases of ChatGPT in advertising. Furthermore, we analyzed the elements of each stage in the advertising photograph creation process and conducted expert interviews to determine the validity of ChatGPT's application in these stages. The results revealed that, although somewhat limited, the feasibility of using ChatGPT was found to be high in the planning stage of advertising photographs, but lower in the actual shooting and post-production stages. Considering these findings, it is necessary to continuously monitor the progress of AI technology and strive to enhance the creativity and efficiency of advertising photograph production through collaboration between technology and humans.

  • A photograph used in a film poster summarizes the story of the film that lasts for around two hours. The image must contain a picture that represents the story and text including the title, with various design elements composed in a harmonious way. However, given that a photograph is the most noticeable element in a film poster, this study aims to examine the function, role, and types of a film poster and analyze poster photographs. Currently, there are companies specialized in photography for film posters, but sometimes recognized photographers are commissioned to take a photograph that will be used for a film poster. Hein-kuhn Oh actively produced such photographs in the early and mid-2000s, and this study deals with 'how the photographs recreate the content of the films' focused on three selected photographs taken by him. Also, There were commonalities found between the tree photographs and Oh's personal portrait photographs, which were then analyzed from the photographic aesthetic point of view. A Study on Mediterranean Tourism Impact Analysis by Specific Events using Photo Sharing Website (특정 사건에 따른 지중해 관광 영향 분석에 관한 연구 - 사진 공유 웹사이트를 기반으로)

  • Due to the variety of tourist attractions, many people of the world are visiting annually in Mediterranean area. In this paper, we analyze Mediterranean tourism impact by specific events such as the Arab Spring. In details, we make several density maps based on the position and time information of the geo-tagged photos extracted from Panoramio which is a representative photo sharing website. These density maps should be used to analyze how can specific events affect on Mediterranean tourism. To do this, first, a spatial database is constructed using geo-tag and time information of photo data extracted from Panoramio. Using GIS tool, then, several density maps are produced after performing density process based on spatial databases. Based on these density maps, finally, we analyze visually on Mediterranean tourism impact according to before, progress, and after of the Arab Spring.

  • 모바일기기에 탑재되어있는 디지털 카메라의 성능이 향상됨에 따라 이를 이용한 사진의 촬영 및 수집이 용이해졌으며, 따라서 사용자 로그정보를 이용하여 방대한 양의 사진을 분석하거나 브라우징해주는 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일기기의 불확실한 로그정보와 사진 주석정보를 베이지안 네트워크로 모델링하여 사용자가 겪은 이벤트들을 추론하고 사용자의 일과를 요약해주는 방법을 제안한다. 우선 사진들을 시간과 위치정보에 따라 분할하여 사진그룹목록을 생성하고, 이를 모바일기기에 입력되어있는 사용자의 일정목록과 합하여 임시이벤트목록을 생성한다. 그 뒤 베이지안 네트워크를 이용하여 각 이벤트를 인식하고 이를 가장 잘 나타내는 사진을 선택한다. 제안하는 방법은 선택된 사진들을 나열하여 사진다이어리형식으로 사용자의 일과를 요약하여주며, 이때 특정 이벤트와 매치되는 사진이 없을 경우 미리 정의되어있는 만화 컷을 대신 사용하여 내용이 매끄럽게 이어지도록 하였다.

  • 본 연구는 International Affective Picture System (IAPS) 사진의 시각 자극을 통해 유발된 감성 변화를 심리ㆍ생리적으로 측정하여 긴장도의 감성 변화를 수행하고자 하였다. 미리 선정된 9개의 사진을 30초씩 제시하면서 ECG, GSR, Skin Temperature, Respiration 등의 생리 신호를 측정하였고, 자극 제시 후 주관적 평가를 실시하였다. 주관적 평가 분석 결과 9개의 사진 중 5종류의 사진에 대한 감성 구분의 가능성이 보였으며, 긴장축으로 긴장 > 불쾌긴장, 쾌긴장 > 중립 > 이완 순서의 4단계로 긴장도가 구분되었다. 자율신경계 반응 또한 긴장영역의 감성을 구분할 수 있었는데, 긴장축으로 긴장, 불쾌긴장, 쾌긴장 > 중립 > 이완 순서의 3단계로 긴장도가 구분되었다. 따라서 각 사진이 유발한 긴장의 감성영역을 주관적 평가를 바탕으로 생리적 반응 분석을 통하여 변별할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • This study is quantitative landscape resources evaluation using Google panoramio geotagged photo collections. Panoramio geotagged photos are including the location information and time information. That is the valuation of the landscape resources and time series analysis allows. And Seasonal changes in preference for a particular landscape can be identified. This study used data from the general public has been produced by the Web 2.0 environment. So, the proposed method in this study will be complement the method using surveys and expert.

Effect of Photographing Light Intensity on Rock Joint Survey in Mine Tunnels using Stereophotogrammetry (입체사진측량기법을 이용한 광산 갱도 내 불연속면 조사에 대한 조도의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Stereophotogrammetry is used to extract spatial information of an interested object by constructing a stereo-image from two or more photos. In this study, the stereophotogrammetry was adopted for a rock joint survey in mine tunnels. The orientations of discontinuities were measured from two mine tunnels with a clinocompass. To evaluate the effect of photographing light level on the stereophotogrammetry analysis, the light intensity was changed within a predefined range for every photograph. Those photographs were analyzed by using a commercial code for stereophotogrammetry - ShapeMetriX 3D, and the results from the analysis were compared with the manual measurement using a clinocompass.

  • In order to examine the material characteristics of a black and white photograph of the Borobudur temple, in Indonesia, several analyses were conducted. A sample was taken from a black and white photograph; microscopy, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray fluorescence analyses showed that the black and white photograph was composed of four layers including a paper substrate, baryta, binder and surface layers. It was confirmed that the substrate was paper made of cellulose fiber from Cannabis sativa, the baryta layer was made of barium sulfate(BaSO4) in powder form, the binder was an emulsion containing silver halide, and the surface protective layer was made of gelatin. Since photographs have different characteristics and require different preservation environments depending on the material of construction, it is necessary to study various black and white photographic material characteristics corresponding to each time period.

  • Stereophotogrammetry can be used for accurate and fast investigation of over-break or under-break which may form during the blasting of underground space. When integrated with small unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) or drones, stereophotogrammetry can be performed much more efficiently. However, since previous research are mostly focused on surface environments, underground applications of drone-based stereophotogrammetry are limited and rare. In order to expand the use of drone-based stereophotogrammetry in underground environments, this study investigated a rock surface of a underground mine through drone-based stereophotogrammetry. The accuracy of the investigation was evaluated and analyzed, which proved the method to be accurate in underground environments. Also, recommendations were proposed for the image acquisition and matching conditions for accurate and efficient application of drone-based stereophotogrammetry in underground environments.

Project Design Plan for Drone Photogrammetry (드론사진측량을 위한 프로젝드 설계방안)

  • The drone photogrammetry is actively utilized for obtaining highly accurate spatial information and other various monitoring purposes. It is general to plan the drone photogrammetry by referring to previous experiences or cases in order to obtain the required accuracy, but the drone photogrammetry is often carried out again due to poor accuracy. Since the required spatial accuracy of the drone photogrammetry process result becomes the means of objective evaluation regardless of the type of result, it should be determined carefully. Therefore, it is necessary to determine flight height, overlap, number and arrangement of ground control point, and exterior orientation factor acquisition method in order to meet the required 3D positional accuracy for the design of drone photogrammetry project. In this study, previous study cases for the analysis of drone photogrammetry accuracy were carefully analyzed and verified by applying such cases to testing area, and design guideline of drone photogrammetry project for a small area was prepared based on the analysis result. The presented project design guideline is expected to be a great help to business practice although it is not perfect, and if the design guideline is prepared through comprehensive analysis in future, it would be possible to provide a perfect manual.
