The Effects of Task Value, Perceived Usefulness, and Teaching Presence on Learning Outcomes in Cyber University (사이버대학생의 학습성과에 대한 과제가치, 지각된 유용성, 교수실재감의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of task value and perceived usefulness on learning outcomes. This study also examined the mediating effects of teaching presence in their relationships. As a result, task value and perceived usefulness significantly predicted learning outcomes (learning flow and learning persistence). In addition, teaching presence mediated between task value, perceived usefulness and learning outcome. This findings imply that task value, perceived usefulness, and teaching presence should be valued to enhance learning outcomes in Cyber university.

An Instruction-learning Model through the Cyber Home Learning System 2.0 for Elementary Social Studies Underachievers (초등학교 사회과 학습부진학생을 위한 사이버 가정학습 2.0 교수학습모형 연구)

  • This study tried to propose an optimal instruction-learning model for the cyber home learning system2.0 through grounded theory. In-depth interviews were conducted to investigate causes of underachievement and the causes were categorized according to common concepts. A total of 25 causes of underachievement could be grouped into four categories and eight sub-categories, as a result. Underachievers, then, participated in the lessons utilizing the cyber home learning system2.0 and their cognitive change process about learning was analyzed from reflectional journals and in-depth interviews with a teacher. It was found that underachievers were participated in learning by passing through 5 processes; adaptation to the cyber home learning system2.0, basic knowledge learning, task implementing, rounds of group discussions, feedbacks and evaluation. Based on analysis of these five processes, this study proposed a conditional matrix for the cyber home learning system 2.0 as the most personalized model for underachieving students.

The analysis of validity and Development of Evaluation Criteria for Cyber Teachers' Satisfaction Factors (사이버교사의 만족도 요인 평가 준거 개발 및 타당도 분석)

  • In the Cyber Home Learning Service (CHLS) for primary and secondary level students, Cyber Teachers are in charge of providing learning assistance and guidance to students through various activities. Thus, improving the Cyber Teachers' satisfaction level could contribute to increased effectiveness of the CHLS. In this study, we developed the evaluation criteria to assess the satisfaction level of teachers participating in the CHLS, and analyzed factors influencing the satisfaction level. We verified the content validity of the evaluation criteria. We also analyzed the evaluation criteria model by conducting an item characteristic analysis and a goodness of fit test using the SPSS and AMOS. Finally, we developed 20 items from five factors based on the analysis results.

The Structure Model Analysis of Cyber University Learners' Academic Self-efficacy, Learning Motivation, Self-directed Learning and Learning Flow (사이버대학 학습자의 학업적 자기효능감, 학습동기, 자기주도학습, 학습몰입의 구조분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a structural theoretical model that can explain the learning flow of online distance education participants and to clarify the structural causal relationship among related variables that affect the learning flow of cyber university learners. Study results found a modified final model with a statistically significant fit based on the structural research model proposed in this study explained the learning flow of cyber university learners. Second, as a result of verifying the relationship between learning motivation and learning flow of cyber university learners, it was found that intrinsic motivation had a significant positive effect on learning flow. Third, as a result of the empirical verification on the relationship between academic self-efficacy and learning flow of cyber university learners, it was found that academic self-efficacy had a significant effect on learning flow. Fourth, as a result of empirical verification on the relationship between self-directed learning and the learning flow of cyber university learners, it was found that the learner's self-directed learning ability had a significant effect on learning flow. Such research results can be used to suggest a strategic direction for successful settlement and diffusion of a new paradigm of online non-face-to-face distance education, which has recently attracted attention.

  • 신경망은 주로 전체 데이터를 중앙에서 학습시키거나 상황에 따라 데이터나 모델을 나누어 분산학습 방법으로 처리해 왔다. 그러나 데이터의 양의 증가와 보안적 이유로 인해 모든 환경에서 기존의 방법을 쓰기에 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 제한된 데이터만으로 모든 데이터로 학습한 것과 같은 학습 효과를 내기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 데이터의 구성이 다른 두 가지 환경인 V-환경과 H-환경에서 학습한 모델을 어떤 방법으로 통합해야 기존의 성능과 비슷한 성능을 낼 수 있는지 연구한다. 우리는 가중치를 합치는 방법을 avg, max, absmas 3가지 방법으로 실험하였으며, 실험 결과로 V-환경에서는 기존의 성능과 비슷한 성능을 보였으며, H-환경에서는 기존의 성능에는 부족하지만, 의미 있는 성능을 보였다.

Analysis of Login and Learning Hour in Cyber Classes of Undergraduate Students (학부 사이버강의 수강생들의 로그인과 학습 시간 분석)

  • The cyber classes of an e-Learning system have been considered as one of the important form of education. However, there is no or little study of effectiveness and function for the students' position. In this study, I analyzed log files in the e-learning system, and classified login and teaming hour patterns of students, who were enrolled in the undergraduate courses of the university, into hourly pattern in a daily pattern in a week, weekly pattern in a semester. I proposed general ideas to improve effectiveness and function of current e-learning. Over 50% of logins were for less than 30minutes learning and there is wasteful use of e-learning system resources.

A Study on the Students' Satisfaction with Cyber Education: A Case Study on the Sections of Consumer Education in the University (학습자 입장에서의 사이버 강의 만족에 관한 연구: 대학에서 소비자교육 분야의 강의 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study examined students' satisfaction with cyber education focused on the sections of consumer education in the University. The sample of this study was 94 students taking a 'Consumer Policy & Education' cyber course. The data were collected using structured questionnaires and analysed by descriptive statistics, frequency, percent, mean, SD, t-test and one-way ANOVA with Duncan test. The results of this study were as follows: First, the reason students took a cyber course was that it was easy to manage the course under "self-control". Second, they studied an average 1-2 hours for a one unit lecture at home on weekdays between 9 p.m. and midnight. Third, the students' satisfaction with cyber education showed a slight preference for the web based environment as opposed to the online lessons. Fourth, the biggest problem with taking a cyber course was that the students found it difficult to concentrate well on the lecture.

  • 현대는 인터넷이 급속히 성장하고 있고 인터넷 사용자들은 홈페이지를 이용한 각종 정보의 활용하고 있으며 정보 통신망을 이용한 멀티미디어 기반의 서비스 산업화의 활성화 실현으로 인해 교육분야에서도 많은 변화가 일어나고 있다. 이러한 인터넷 교육분야에 맞춰서 한자를 배우고자 하는 학습자들에게 Edutainment식 한자학습을 구현하여 한자를 즐겁고 재미있게 학습할 수 있도록 하는 사이버 한자학습 강의를 제안하고자 한다.

Post-Examination Analysis on the Student Dropout Prediction Index (학생 중도탈락 예측지수에 관한 사후검증 연구)

  • Drop-out issue is one of the challenges of cyber university. There are about 130,000 students enrolled in cyber universities, but the dropout rate is also very high. To lower the dropout rate, cyber universities invest heavily in learning analytics. Some cyber universities analyze the possibility of dropout and actively support students who are more likely to drop out. The purpose of this paper is to identify the learning data affecting the dropout prediction index. As a result of the analysis, it is confirmed that number of lessons(progress), credits, achievement and leave of absence have a significant effect on dropout rate. It is necessary to increase the accuracy of the prediction model through post-test on the student dropout prediction index.
