A lot of buildings, especially apartment housing, have been dismantled so as to enhance the value of the building without exact assesment for the service life and deterioration degree of the building. Remodeling for an aged building is becoming a hot issue to owners in the public sector and the private sector. Peoples including owner, tenants, constructors recognize the fact that the efficient maintenance of the building during the service life and lengthening the practical service life are very important in point of minimizing LCC. This study suggest a decision making system to judge whether to remodel(renovate) or to reconstruct an aged building. The system is composed of structural performance assesment elapsed(or practical service) life evaluation against whole service life, deterioration assesment of the building equipment, dweller's satisfaction, etc.

In this study, we propose a way to improve science teacher expertise through infographics creation teacher training program by analyzing the infographics types focusing on the Earth Science subject of the 2015 revised curriculum, and inspecting the teachers' utilization of graphic tools. The data visualization characteristics of Earth Science textbooks were analyzed, the execution results of the infographics creation teacher training program were presented, and a survey on science teachers' change in perception and competency of infographics. As a result of the Earth Science textbook analysis, diagram-type, map-type, and comparative analysis-type infographics were frequently used, and were mainly presented as text-assisted-type infographics. The infographics creation teacher training program was conducted five times for 112 science teachers to create the complete, text-assisted, incomplete, and gradient-type infographics. Incomplete infographics for development of evaluation questions were most needed. Although many science teachers recognize the importance of infographics, they lacked the competency to create high-quality infographics because there were no training opportunities for infographics creation. After completing the training, 74.1% of teachers felt that the quality of developments of supplementary textbooks and evaluation questions had improved, and answered that it was helpful in re-educating knowledge and improving teaching-learning methods. Based on the research results, ways to improve science teacher expertise through infographics creation teacher training program were suggested.

Considering that GIS (Geographic Information Systems) has not been widely adopted by teachers despite educators' considerable efforts to incorporate it into secondary education, if some teachers voluntarily participate in GIS in-service education without guaranteed benefits, those teachers deserve attention. This study investigates why teachers actively participated in a GIS staff-development program offered by Seoul National University in South Korea. Questionnaires were distributed to teachers and interviews were conducted. Results indicate that active participants are mostly young teachers who are expected to have had experiences with GIS during pre-service education. Teachers see the potential of GIS, but they also worry about several issues. Participating teachers' primary motivation was to learn enough about GIS to incorporate it into their teaching. Suggestions to facilitate the incorporation of GIS into education are provided.

Due to the lack of attendance management system, the training conducted by each existing institution was handwritten at the site and managed in writing about the attendance of participants. It not only takes a lot of manpower and time to store and search, but also has a lot of difficulty in storing. In this paper, we design and implement an integrated smart attendance management system using barcodes. Through this, the attendance system of training applicants is developed, security related to attendance is strengthened, and training attendance data is computerized and collected. In addition, standards for necessary data are selected so that each institution can efficiently manage and utilize training information data. The proposed system can add various institutions in a single construction, making it easy to expand institutional management and can expect additional cost reduction effects. In addition, it is expected that the quality of education will be improved by increasing the convenience of training managers who use the management system provided and controlling/managing attendance data of users.

This study examined the needs assessment of in-service education on teaching for school health teachers. The subjects of this study were 504 school health teachers, who were working in G-city and J-do. The data was collected from questionnaires of school health teacher's teaching from Nov. 9 to 23 2013. The data collected was analyzed by frequency analysis and a $x^2$-test. The conclusions were as follows. The first priority of the school health teacher's work is 'management of health problems' and the second is 'health education'. A difference was observed between the school levels (p< 0.01). The teaching methods mainly used on health care instruction were lecturing, discussion and practical training. The teaching materials of health care instruction mainly used were ppt, internet video, and textbooks. Most of health care teachers agreed to creativity education but they used creativity education less in practice. Most school health teachers want to in-service education on teaching and the contents of the course are creativity education or storytelling for new teaching.

The main objective of this paper is to study the application of runs to the analysis of hydrologic data. The stochastic structure of annual hydrologic data is investigated using the statistical properties of run-length for various truncation levels. Observed relative frequencies of run-length at each station are copared with the calculated and approched to the calculated. Also, it can be shown to estimate the durations of wet and dry years by the probabilities of run-length for a given truncation level. Annual precipitation data were obtained from the stations where have relatively long records, and stream flow data were generated by Markov model. The results of hypothesis test with run-lengths show independence of annual hydrologic series and Markov model can be applied to generate annual stream flow at Hyunpung, Waekwan and Gyuam.

The purpose of this study is to develop sequential concept tests (ConcepTest) for teachers' conceptual change on the straight propagation of light through in-service training of science teachers by peer instruction. We revised the ConcepTests for attaining the goal concept by implementing similar training courses for teachers three times and analyzing the results using both Hake gain and verbal protocol. The final form helped most teachers to reach the goal concept. While teachers are solving a given concept problem test, they had shown not only significant cognitive conflict to select one among candidate answers, but also used the concept obtained through the previous problem. The sequential ConcepTests developed in this study can be useful for training elementary and secondary teachers or pre-service teacher education.
