Effect of Ethanol Intake on the Concentration of Minerals in Broiler Chicks (알콜섭취가 성장기닭의 장기중 무기질농도에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of chronic ethanol consumption on the concentration of minerals in tissues and serum was studied in growing broiler chicks. Four different groups of the chicks were fed mixtures of 0(control), 1,2 and 3% ethanol and water respectively for 7 weeks. Body weight gain in 1% ethanol group and liver weight in 3% ethanol group were significantly higher than those of control. Mg, K, Mn, and Zn concentrations in liver were higher in ethanol groups than those in control. In ethanol groups, femoral muscle Mg level was increased while its Na concentration was decreased. The concentrations of Ca, Mg and Na in serum were higher in 3% ethanol group than those in control, 1 or 2% ethanol groups. In femur, Zn and Fe levels in 1% ethanol group and Mn concentration in 2 or 3% ethanol groups were increased. But its weight, length, and ash content were not affected by ethanol intake.

FTS (Facing Target Sputtering)장비를 이용한 알루미늄 무기산화막 박막에 관한 연구

  • 현재 디스플레이 시장은 LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), PDP (Plasma Display Panel) 등과 같이 평판 디스플레이가 주류를 이루고 있으며 현재에는 기존의 디스플레이와는 달리 잘 휘어지고 높은 투과성을 가지는 플렉시블 디스플레이에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 하지만 이러한 플렉시블 디스플레이에 사용되는 플라스틱 기판의 경우 용제에 대한 화학적 저항성 및 기계적인 안정성이 취약한 점과 대기중의 수분이나 산소가 플라스틱 기판을 통하여 소자내로 침투하게 되어 금속전극을 산화시키거나 기포 또는 흑점 등과 같은 비 발광 영역이 확산되어 소자의 수명을 단축시키는 치명적인 단점을 가진다. 이에 본 실험에서는 고밀도 플라즈마 형성이 가능하고 저온공정이 가능한 FTS (Facing Target Sputtering) 장비를 이용하여 Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) 기판위에 낮은 수분 투과율 또는 산소 투과율을 갖는 양질의 무기 산화막을 적층하기 위해 저 투습도 및 기계적인 경도 향상을 위한 비 반응성 박막으로 $Al_20_3$층을 Ar분위기에서 증착하였고 그 위에 박막의 stress 감소, 유연성 향상을 위한 반응성 박막으로 Al을 Ar과 $O_2$를 비율별로 증착하여 비교 실험하였다. 이와 같이 제작된 무기산화막들을 Uv- spectrophotometer를 이용하여 광학적 특성을 조사한 결과 가시광 영역에서 모두 80% 이상의 높은 투과율을 나타내었으며, 그 외 XRD (X-ray Diffraction)를 사용하여 결정성을 확인, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), AFM (Atomic Force Microscope)을 이용하여 박막의 구조와 표면향상 및 표면조도를 측정한 결과 모든 박막에서 밀집도가 좋으며 거칠기가 작은 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 수분 투과율(WVTR)을 알아보기 위해 Mocon (Permatran W3/31)장비를 이용하여 측정한 결과 $1.0{\sim}3.0{\times}10^{-3}g/m{\cdot}day$의 낮은 수분 투과율을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 측정 결과로 볼 때 향후 FTS 장비를 이용하여 양질의 플라즈마를 형성하여 알루미늄 무기산화막을 이용한 고밀도 다층막을 형성하면 더욱 낮은 수분투과율을 갖는 가스차단막을 제작할 수 있을 것으로 보여지며 반도체 소자 및 디바이스의 Pachaging으로도 사용가능 할 것이라 사료된다. 본 연구는 한국산업기술진흥원에서 지원하는 2011년도 지역산업기술개발사업의 연구수행으로 인한 결과물임을 밝힙니다.

Distribution of Minerals within the Degermed Brown Rice Kernel (배아를 제거한 현미립내의 무기질의 분포)

  • The contents of minerals of the milled fractions of degermed Japonica and J/Indica brown rices were determined. The fraction I(about 4.4% of the kernel weight) contained 14.8 times as much sodium as did the original kernel; phosphorus, 5.7 times; potassium and iron, 5.4 times; magnesium, 4.2 times; calcium, 3.8 times; manganese, 3.7 times; Copper, 3.6 times; and Zinc, 2.3 times. Concentrations of these minerals were the lowest in the residual kernel, which contained less than the original brown rice. Sodium showed the most deepest concentration gradient, while iron was the most evenly distributed within the kernel in all samples.

Effect of Inorganic Constituents Existing in Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) on Features of Pyrolysis Products (팜 부산물에 존재하는 무기성분이 급속열분해 생성물의 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the effect of inorganic constituents on the physicochemical properties of pyrolytic products produced from empty fruit bunch (EFB) by fast pyrolysis were investigated. Inorganic constituents were removed from the EFB by means of washing treatment with hydrofluoric acid (HF) and distilled water (D.I water). Ash content decreased from 6.2 wt% (EFB) to 2.4 wt% (HF-EFB) and 3.5 wt% (D.I-EFB), respectively. As a result of the inorganic component, a quantity of potassium in EFB has showed the highest removal efficiency in both HF and D.I water (HF: 80.3%, D.I water: 72.8%). Fast pyrolysis was performed with demineralized EFB in the fluidized bed reactor under the temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ at the residence time of 1.3 sec. The yield of bio-oil was determined to 57.3 wt% for HF-EFB and 52.1 wt% for D.I-EFB, respectively. Biochar yield decreased whereas yield of non-condensable gas increased with decreasing inorganic content of EFB. Water content decreased from 26.9% (EFB) to 9.9% (HF-EFB) and viscosity increased from 16.1 cSt (EFB) to 334 cSt (HF-EFB).

Changes on Physical Property of Ilmenite due to Microorganism (미생물에 의한 티탄철석의 물리적 특성 변화)

  • Laboratory tests for measuring absorption, porosity, P-wave velocity and uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) were performed to examine weathering characteristics of ilmenite by microorganism. Physical property changes were quantitatively estimated with comparing culture period on the condition of abiotic oxidation without microorganism and biooxidation with microorganism. As a result, the measured pH during 45 days was distributed in the range from 3.82 to 4.26, on the other hand, biooxidation showed the range from 2.20 to 2.57. The measured absorption according to microorganism and culture period represented 0.052% at final stage in the case of abiotic oxidation and 0.073% in the case of biooxidation. Porosity showed 0.206% at final stage in the case of abiotic oxidation and 0.281% in the case of biooxidation. In general, the values by biooxidation showed higher than that by abiotic oxidation. Change range of P-wave velocity with culture period showed that the measured value as 1410 m/s at final stage in the case of biooxidation was lower than 1886 m/s of that in the case of abiotic oxidation. The UCS was decreased with increasing culture period in all specimens and represented 241.1 MPa at final stage in the case of abiotic oxidation and 140.0 MPa in the case of bioxidation. In conclusion, it implies that influence of physical property on ilmenite by biooxidation related with microorganism was larger than that by abiotic oxidation.

  • In this paper present the real-time system parallel testing techniques for weapon systems error verification. Previously field testing equipment in the military field was using the sequential testing method to maintain. This method could not check the error verification of interference. For this reason, in this paper propose the real-time system parallel testing techniques using an embedded module instead of the sequential testing techniques which is used in the weapon system error verification. Using the embedded module mounted switching control card conduct the parallel testing and then send the result to the PC. This method is possible to increase the reliability in the weapon system error verification.

  • In order to estimate the life cycle expense of the weapon system acquisition from the first demand planning phase until the last disuse phase, we apply the reliable expense analysis method to the current situation in Korea by using the sensitivity analysis. We estimate the total cost of the weapon system acquisition by focusing on the most important variables such as exchange rate, and hence by strengthening the function of the existing expense analysis method, which is used to be simply recognized as a tool of cost reduction. Therefore, this study could make a contribution to the literature in this area, in terms of deriving the most cost-efficient method of acquisition by comparing the various estimated costs that result from the different alternatives of the weapon system acquisition.

The use of arsenic compounds increased greatly during the 18th and 19th centuries, including its use in pigments and dyes, as a preservative of animal hides, in glass manufacture, agricultural pesticides, and various pharmaceutical substances. The causal association between human arsenic exposure, usually in the form of inorganic compounds containing trivalent arsenite (As$^{III}$) or pentavalent arsenate (As$^V$), and various forms of human cancer has been known for many years.

함정 경제수명 분석에 관한 연구

  • 함정은 수많은 장비 및 무기체계로 구성된 복합무기체계로서 장비유지비용이 타 무기체계에 비해 크며, 운용 및 교체시 막대한 국방예산이 소요된다. 본 연구의 목적인 함정교체를 위한 도태시기, 즉 함정수명 결정시 고려요소로서는 첫째, 전략, 전술상의 요소 둘째, 장비의 성능 요소 셋째, 운영유지비의 비용 요소 넷째, 군수지원상의 문제 다섯째, 예산상의 문제 등이 고려된다. 그러나 본 연구는 함정이란 복합무기체계의 수명을 결정하는 요소 중 정책적인 고려사항 등은 제외하고, 경제성 측면을 고려한 함정의 수명을 추정, 제시한다. 연구 절차는 무기체계 획득단계에서 경제성 평가를 수행하기 위한 방법으로 앞으로 도입될 장비에 대한 수명주기비용을 추정하고, 그 결과를 활용하여 장비의 경제수명을 결정할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 즉, 현재 국방 분야에서 비용추정을 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 PRICE 전산모델을 이용하여 운영유지비용을 포함한 수명주기 전반에 대한 항목별 비용을 추정하는 방법을 제시하고, 이 자료를 바탕으로 경제수명 결정 모형 중 적합하다고 판단된 등가 연간 비용방법을 적용하여 등가 유지비용과 자본회수비가 최소가 되는 시점을 장비의 경제수명으로 결정한 것이다. 제시된 절차를 이지스 구축함(KDX-III)에 적용하여 경제수명을 결정한다. 본 연구에서 제시된 방법을 통해 보다 과학적이고 경제적으로 함정의 도태시기를 결정하는데 사용함으로써 국방예산 절감에 기여하게 될 것으로 판단된다.

Sectional Composition of Minerals in Domestic Deer Antler (국내산 녹용(Cervi parvum Cornu) 의 부위별 무기질 조성)

  • The mineral compositions were analysed of the tip and the upper section of dried domestic antlers. The upper section was divided longitudinally into four parts. The tip and the upper section were divided traversely into the velvet and the spongy bone layers. The contents of ash, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium increased (p<0.05), and those of manganese, zinc, copper and iron decreased (p<0.05) downward from the tip both in the velvet and the spongy bone layers. The contents of ash, calcium, phosphorus, manganese and zinc of the spongy bone layer were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of the velvet layer. The tip, which is the growth center of the antler, had the significantly (p<0.05) lowest proportions of Ca/ash, Ca/P and Ca/Fe ratios both in the velvet and spongy bone layers.
