  • Most of buildings' exterior walls are curtain wall systems and in the respect, the cleaning robot system is the main research item for cleaning and maintenance of them. We have structurely analysed the cases to review on the structural stability of the mullion members where the cleaning robot is attached. The result is showing that the largest stress is formed by the basic wind speed, which is specified in Korean Building Code-Structural.

  • The pressure-based methods are very popular in CFD because it requires less computer core memory compared to other coupled or density-based solvers. Currently structured-mesh methodology based on pressure-based algorithm is quite mature to apply to the practical problems. The unstructured mesh method needs much more computer memory than the structured-mesh method. However the pressure-based method utilizing the sequential approach does not require very large memory used for unstructured-mesh density-based solvers. The present study has developed the unstructured grid pressure-based method. Cell-centered finite volume method was selected due to robustness for imposing various boundary conditions and easy implementation of higher-order upwind scheme. The predictive capability of present method has validated against several benchmark problems.

  • A GUI based pre/post processor program, which is based on the MFC and OpenGL library in the Windows O/S, hee been developed for NUFLEX Using this program, users are able to generate and modify structured or unstructured grid geometries, set all the parameters for the solver, and observe the results of the simulation in graphic view by vector or scalar plots. The mesh geometry data can be imported from or exported to other programs by supporting functions for reading from and writing to CGNS data format files.

  • After the Gyeong-ju 9.12 earthquake, we found the necessity of seismic design of nonstructural element is important to reduce damages in view of properties and economic losses. This study focused on the investigation of damages including both properties and human beings. It was found that most of the damages are leaking of water pipe line, rupture of glasses, spalling of roof finishing, cracks of building, and falling from roof. It was also found that the seismic design force of nonstructural elements is taking account into the natural periods, amplification factors, response modification factors to forsee inelastic behaviors. From this studies, it is recommended that more studies are necessary on the seismic design force of nonstructural element.

  • The global applications of aspherics surfaces will expand rapidly on the electronics, optical components, communications, aerospace, defense, and medical optics devices etc. Especially, Asymmetric aspheric prism lens is one of the important parts in HMD(Head Mounted Display) because it affects dominantly on the optical performance of HMD. The mold core is the most important device to produce the plastic lenses by injection molding method. In this study, the mold cores for asymmetric aspheric prism lens were processed using fly-cutting method which is kind of the ultra precision processing and form accuracy and surface roughness of the cores were measured.

  • Turbulent flow analysis around a wind turbine blade was performed to evaluate the power performance of offshore wind turbine. Fluent package was utilized to solve the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations in non-inertial rotating coordinates. The realizable k-$\varepsilon$ model was used for turbulence closure and the grid system combining structured and unstructured grids was generated. In the first, lift and drag forces of 2-D foil section were calculated and compared with existing experimental data for the validation. Then torque and thrust of the wind turbine blade having NACA 4-series sections were calculated with fixed pitch angle and rpm. Tip speed ratio was varied by changing wind speed. In the next, three kinds of end plate were attached at the tip of blade in order to increase the power of the wind turbine. Among them the end plate attached at the suction side of the blade was found to be most effective. Furthermore, performance analysis with tilt angle and rake was also performed.

  • In this study, computational structural dynamic analyses of a gyrocopter have been conducted considering unsteady dynamic hub-loads due to rotating blades. 3D CATIA models with detailed mechanical parts we constructed and virtually assembled into the complete aircraft configuration. The dynamic loading generated by rotating blades in the forward flight condition are calculated by a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code such as FLUENT. Modal based transient and frequency response analyses are used to efficiently investigate vibration characteristics of the gyrocopter. Free vibration analysis results for different fuel and pilot conditions, frequency responses and transient responses for critical flight conditions are also presented in detail.

  • When creating annotation information in a free~form environment, ambiguity arises during the analysis stage between geometric information and the annotations. This needs to be resolved so that the accurate creation of annotation information in a free-form annotation environment is possible. This paper identifies and analyzes the ambiguities, specifying methods that are tailored to each of the various contexts that can cause conflicts with free-form marking in a XML-based annotation environment. The proposed general method is based on context which includes various textual and structure information between free-form marking and the annotations themselves. The context information used is expressed in XML based DTD, within the paper. The results are printed and shared through a system specifically implemented for this study. The results from the implementation of the Proposed method show that the annotated areas included in the free-form marking information are more accurate, achieving more accurate exchange results amongst multiple users in a heterogeneous document environment.

  • There are various researches which proposed an automatic instance generation from freetext on the web. Existing researches that focused on English, adopts pattern representation which is generated by simple rules and regular expression. These simple patterns achieves high performance, but it is not suitable in Korean due to differences of characteristics between Korean and English. Thus, this paper proposes a novel method for generating patterns and instances which focuses on Korean. A proposed method generates high quality patterns by taking advantages of dependency relations in a target sentences. In addition, a proposed method overcome restrictions from high degree of freedom of word order in Korean by utilizing postposition and it identifies a subject and an object more reliably. In experiment results, a proposed method shows higher precision than baseline and it is implies that proposed approache is suitable for self-knowledge learning system.

  • In this paper, an electromagnetic analysis methodology using reaction theorem based on reciprocity theorem is presented for the aspheric ogival radome applied to a missile and/or airborne radar. The presented analysis methodology is verified using actual measured data. The type of antenna assumed to develope the methodology is a waveguide slot array antenna, and has the structure of 2 axes monopulse of "X" type. The shape of radome is assumed as Von Karman and the ratio of length to base diameter(L/D) is assumed to be 2:1. The electrical characteristics of the radome are measured using radome measurement system and the results are compared to the values estimated using the presented analysis methodology. It is found that the comparison shows good agreement. It is expected that the presented methodology can be applied for the development of missile and airborne radome.
