An Analysis on Errors of Students in Science and Engineering in Extremum Value of Functions (함수의 극값에서 이공계열 학생들의 오류에 대한 분석)

  • The purposes of this study are to analyze error that the students in science and engineering show in the process of thinking a extremum value. First, in view of examples of incorrect answers that appeared in a test by students in science and engineering, it has been found that the most frequent incorrect answers were due to a lack of understanding about necessary matters and concepts. In this regard, it is necessary to use various examples and pictures(graphs) to teach students in science and engineering. In addition, it has been found that it is more effective to use questions asking why it happens and why they think that way to help those having difficulties in understanding various concepts and principles.

Soil Water Characteristic Curve of the Weathered Granite Soil through Simulated Rainfall System and SWCC Cell Test (강우재현 모형실험과 SWCC Cell 실험에 의한 화강암질 풍화토의 함수특성곡선)

  • A simulated rainfall system was built, and the unsaturated characteristics were examined by execution of simulated rainfall system test and soil water characteristic curve cell test(SWCC Cell Test) under the various rainfall and slope conditions. With the results, the applicability of infiltration behavior under rainfall and soil water characteristic curve models to the unsaturated weathered granite soil was examined. At the results of comparison the volumetric water content and matric suction measured in the wetting process(under rainfall) with those in the drying process(leaving as it was) of the simulated rainfall system, the volumetric water content showed a difference of $2{\sim}5%$ and matric suction of about $3{\sim}10\;kPa$, indicating the occurrence of hysteresis. In addition, the difference was relatively larger in matric suction than in the volumetric water content, and this tells that the hysteresis behavior is larger in matric suction. When the soil water characteristic curve derived from measurements in simulated rainfall system test were compared with those from the soil water characteristic curve cell test, both methods produced soil water characteristic curves close each other in the wetting process and the drying process, but in both, there was a difference between results obtained from in the wetting process and those from in the drying process. Thus, when soil water characteristic curves are rationally applied to the design and stability analysis considering of the properties of unsaturated soil, it is considered desirable to apply the soil water characteristic curve of the wetting process to the wetting process, and that of the drying process to the drying process.

Comparative Analysis of the Weight Functions for the Reconstruction of a Gamma-ray CT based on the EM Technique (EM기반의 감마 CT 영상복원을 위한 가중치 함수 비교분석)

  • In this paper, we reconstructed the cross-sectional images of two phantoms simulating a petrochemical process from gamma radiation measurements. Three different weight functions for EM image reconstruction algorithm were built and compared with histograms representing the variance of the homogeneity of the phantom material, The radiation source, $^{137}Cs$, collimated by a lead with 5 mm diameter aperture and the measurement was made with a lead shielded 1inch NaI detector. As a result, the method taking into account the beam area in each pixel for a weight function showed the best resolution among the three methods.

  • Well-known Bayes and empirical Bayes estimators have a disadvantage in respecting to overshink the parameter estimator error; therefore, a constrained Bayes estimator is suggested by matching the first two moments. Also traditional loss function such as mean square error loss function only considers the precision of estimation and to consider both precision and goodness of fit, balanced loss function is suggested. With these reasons, constrained Bayes estimators under balanced loss function is recommended for non-life insurance pricing.; however, most studies focus on the performance of estimation since Bayes risk of newly suggested estimators such as constrained Bayes and constrained empirical Bayes estimators under specific loss function is difficult to derive. This study compares the Bayes risk of several Bayes estimators under two different loss functions for estimating the risk in the auto insurance business and indicates the effectiveness of the newly suggested Bayes estimators with regards to Bayes risk perspective through auto insurance real data analysis.

  • Super-resolution is the process of converting a low-quality image into a high-quality image. This study was conducted using ESPCN. In a super-resolution deep neural network, different quality images can be output even when receiving the same input data according to the activation function that determines the weight when passing through each node. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find the most suitable activation function for super-resolution by applying the activation functions ReLU, ELU, and Swish and compare the quality of the output image for the same input images. The CelebaA Dataset was used as the dataset. Images were cut into a square during the pre-processing process then the image quality was lowered. The degraded image was used as the input image and the original image was used for evaluation. As a result, ELU and swish took a long time to train compared to ReLU, which is mainly used for machine learning but showed better performance.

  • 본 연구는 누적위험률함수에 대한 베이지안 추정량을 이용하여 생존함수의 추정량을 제안하고, counting process 이론과 martingale 이론을 이용하여 대표본하에서 제안된 추정량의 일양적 일치성과 점근적 정규성을 밝힌다. 또한 모의실험을 통하여 추정량들의 효율성을 편의와 평균제곱오차의 측면에서 비교하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡한 카오스 신호를 발생시키는 HVPM(hyperchaotic volume preserving maps) 모델과 HVPM 모델의 구현회로를 제안한다. 랜덤한 카오스 신호를 발생시키기 위하여 3차원 이산시간(discrete-time) 연산과 비선형 사상(maps)으로 모듈러(modulus) 함수를 이용하여 하이퍼카오스 신호를 발생시킨다. 그리고 HVPM 모델은 여러 가지 시스템 파라미터들을 변화시키면 다양한 카오스 신호를 발생시킬 수 있으며, 출력되는 카오스 신호는 비주기성을 갖게 된다. 이러한 특징을 갖는 HVPM 모델의 회로 구현을 위하여 2단 N형의 함수를 CMOS와 선형 연산증폭기 및 비교기를 이용하여 보드상에서 구현하여, 다양한 하이퍼카오스 신호를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 설계변수와 목적함수를 동시에 고려해야하는 전기기기 설계에 적용하기에 적합한 대리 모델을 이용한 새로운 최적화 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 적은 함수호출 횟수만으로도 정확하고 고르게 분포한 Pareto front set을 구현 할 수 있어 유한요소 해석을 이용하는 전기기기 설계에 매우 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 제안한 알고리즘의 뛰어난 성능을 기존 알고리즘들과의 비교를 통해 입증하였다.

  • 개층형 신경망은 교사신호들의 학습으로 원하는 입출력간의 매핑을 할 수 있으므로 패턴분류를 위해 사용되어왔다. 본 논문은 계층형 신경망의 일종인 RBFN 중 GPFN 과 PNN으로 한국어 음소인식을 수행하였다. RBFN 의 구조는 계층형 신경망과 유사하나 차이점으로는 은닉층에서 시그모이드 함수, 참조벡터 및 학습알고리듬의 선택이 다르다. 특히 PNN 의 시그모이드 함수는 지수를 포함한 함수들로 대체되며 학습없이 패턴을 분류하므로 계산시간이 빠르게 수행된다. 본 실험에서는 한국어 단음절에서 모음과 자음을 추출하여 음소인식을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 학습과 평가데이타에 의한 인식률은 계층형 신경망과 비교하여 향상 되었으며, Hybrid 구성에 의한 실험에서도 항상된 인식률을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 랜념배열 안테나에서 위치함수의 확률분포함수가 정규 Gaussian 분포가 되도록 사다 리 계층법과 등면적 분포법이란 새로운 방법을 제시하였고 이를 선형과 판형 배열 안테나로 설치하여 그의 방사특성을 컴퓨터에 의해 계산하고 합성한 것이다 측정된 결과를 Monte-Carlo 법에 의한 랜념배 열 안테나와 균일 간격으로 배열된 안테나에 의한 측정결과와 비교한 결과 부로부레벨은 등면적 분포법 에 의한 배열안테나에서 가장 낮았으며 소자수가 많을수록 낮아졌다. 또한 빔폭은 확률밀도함수와 operture 길이에 의존함을 알 수 있다.
