  • 본 논문은 분산환경에서 다양한 형식으로 기술되어 있는 멀티미디어 데이터베이스에 대한 통합 방법을 기술한다. 멀티미디어 컨텐츠에 대해 기술하고 있는 대표적 표준들은 MPEG-7 MDS와 TV-Anytime등이 존재한다. 이런 다양한 형식으로 기술된 데이터베이스를 통합하여 하나된 쿼리로 사용자가 원하는 정보를 효율적으로 추출하기 위해 우리는 Mediator 방식과 분산환경에 강력한 프로토콜을 제공하고 있는 Web Service를 이용하여 통합 시스템을 구성한다.

  • A content based pub/sub (Publish/subscribe) services at the peer-to-peer network has the requirements about how to distribute contents information of subscriber and to delivery the events efficiently. For satisfying the requirements, a DHT(Distributed Hash Table) based pub/sub overlay networking and tree type topology based network construction using filter technique have been proposed. The DHT based technique is suitable for topic based pub/sub service but it's not good contents based service that has the variable requirements. And also filter based tree topology networking is not efficient at the environment where the user requirements are distributed. In this paper we propose the R-Tree algorithm based pub/sub overlay network construction method. The proposed scheme provides cost effective event delivery method by mapping user requirement to multi-dimension and hierarchical grouping of the requirements. It is verified by simulation at the variable environment of user requirements and events.

  • Server push which is technology of sending contents from servers to browsers in real time using long polling requests enables real time bidirectional communications between servers and browsers in HTTP environment. Recently, thanks to the rapid supply of mobile devices having ability of full browsing, server push is being applied to various applications. However, because servers providing services should offer distributed contents to a large number of users simultaneously in various user environments, they have a burden that offers contents quickly distinguishing much more concurrent users than before. The method of message exchange so far achieved in distributed server environment has difficulties in the performance of simultaneous user request process, the identification of users and the contents delivery. In this paper, We proposed message exchange architecture between servers for offering server push in the distributed server environment. The proposed architecture enables message exchange in the method of push between servers based on event driven architecture. In addition, the proposed architecture enables flexible identification of a event agent and event processing under the connected environment of a lot of users. In this paper, we designed and implemented the proposed architecture and compared performance with the previous way through a performance test. In addition, function is confirmed through the case realization. As a result of the performance test, the proposed architecture can lessen the use of server Thread and response time of users and increase simultaneous throughput.

  • The mobile agent is receiving the attention as new technique to retrieve and to share the distributed contents on web-based educational systems. The retrieval using mobile agent uses the method that delivers the agent to accomplish a search in direct server in substitute for it is transmitted a many contents to accomplish an efficient search. This study proposed the model of retrieval system that shares and searches the distributed educational contents of the bulletin board and newsgroup by using the mobile agent. In order to evaluate the efficiencies of the system that is proposed, we did the comparison test on the search model of existing and proposing system. By a test result, we confirmed network traffics of proposed system are diminished. Moreover we gave proof the fact that the optimum search time of the mobile agent-based system is shortened.

  • In vehicular communications environment, content pre-caching can reduce the delay time from the user to the content server. However, the problem of where and how much pre-caching is still not solved. In this paper, based on the movement probability of the vehicle, we propose a method for pre-caching by distributing the optimized amount of content to each base station candidate that the vehicle will move as follows. First, the movement probability of each vehicle was learned using Markov Model. And the amount of content to be distributed and pre-cached was optimized based on the wireless environment. In experiments based on NS-3, the proposed strategy maintained the least delay compared to the existing protocol, leading to the most traffic-saving results.

  • Nowadays, with the rapid spread of streaming services in the internet world, security vulnerabilities are also increasing rapidly. For streaming security, this paper proposes a PN(pseudo-random noise) distributed structure-based security processor for web streaming contents(SP-WSC). The proposed SP-WSC is basically a PN distributed code algorithm designed for web streaming characteristics, so it can secure various multimedia contents. The proposed SP-WSC is independent of the security vulnerability of the web server. Therefore, SP-WSC can work regardless of the vulnerability of the web server. That is, the SP-WSC protects the multimedia contents by increasing the defense against external unauthorized signals. Incidentally it also suggests way to reduce buffering due to traffic overload.

  • In this paper, we developed the web content of statistical analysis using statistical package and Active Server Page (ASP). A statistical package is very difficult to learn and use for non-statisticians, however, non-statisticians want to do analyze the data without learning statistical packages such as SAS, S-plus, and R. Therefore, we developed the web based statistical analysis contents using S-plus which is the popular statistical package and ASP. In real application, we developed the web content for various statistical analyses such as exploratory data analysis, analysis of variance, and time series on the web using water quality data. The developed statistical analysis web content is very useful for non-statisticians such as public service person and researcher. Consequently, combining a web based contents with a statistical package, the users can access the site quickly and analyze data easily.

An Efficient Server Selection Over The Multi-site Internet Environments (멀티 사이트 인터넷 환경에서 효율적인 서버 선택)

  • 인터넷 서비스 품질의 향상을 위해 고성능 서버의 증설 및 트래픽 분산 등 서비스 대역의 확장으로 인터넷 접속 장치인 서버 및 가입자망의 접속 속도는 급속히 향상되었으나, 인터넷의 접속 품질과 속도에 대한 만족도는 기대에 못 미치고 있다. 이러한 문제는 인터넷 접속장치의 증설로는 증가하는 트래픽을 수용하는 데에는 한계가 있고, 사용자측 노드에서 CP(Content Provider) 서버를 이르는 미들마일(Middel-mile) 구간이 개선되지 못하는데 원인이 있다. 본 논문에서는 지역적으로 분산된 멀티 사이트 인터넷 환경에서 각 클라이언트의 위치에 따라 클러스터링된 서버들의 로드 밸런싱을 유지하면서 서버와 사용자 측 노드를 최소화하여 사용자에게 효율적인 서버를 선택하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법에는 효율적인 서버를 선택하기 위해 네트워크 상태 감시자(NSP)와 컨텐츠 서버 관리자를 두어 각 서버의 상태와 각 분산된 네트워크의 상태를 파악할 수 있도록 하였으며, 서버 선택 알고리즘과 알고리즘을 실현하기 위한 서비스 구조를 제시하였다. 또한, 효율적인 서비스 서버를 선택하기 위한 인자들과 측정방법을 나타내었으며, 제안된 서비스 구조에서 실험을 통하여 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • 그리드 환경에서 어플리케이션 컨텐츠는 특정한 문제 해결을 위한 실질적인 작업이며, 그리드 자원에 분산 배포 되고 서로 연관되어 실행되기 때문에 협업 환경을 구성하는 것은 매우 중요한 부분이다. 그리고 대부분의 협업은 워크플로우를 통하여 구체화 되고, 그리드 환경에서 협업 처리를 위한 미들웨어로는 Globus toolkit이 대표적이다. 하지만 이 미들웨어는 그리드 환경 구축을 위한 기본 서비스들만을 제공하고, 협업을 할 수 있는 워크풀로우 생성, 작업 스케줄링, 어플리케이션 컨텐츠 관리 같은 부분은 적용 되지 않는다. 또한 Globus Toolkit은 대형화된 그리드 커뮤니티 구성에는 적합하나, 소규모 PC 기반에는 부적합하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 PC 기반 그리드 환경에서 소규모 협업 처리에 효율적인 어플리케이션 서비스 시스템을 제안한다. 어플리케이션 컨텐츠 배포, PC기반으로 구성된 자원관리등의 역할을 통해 효율적인 협업 환경을 지원한다. 또한 워크풀로우는 어플리케이션 컨탠츠 연관관계 사전을 만들어 협업에 필요한 어플리케이션 컨탠츠간의 정보 및 연관 관계를 표현한다.
