자유류와의 분사 압력비와 분출구 형상에 따른 공기 우산 효과 연구

  • 기존 우산의 단점을 보완한 발명품, 공기우산이 개발되었다. 하지만 공기우산의 단점인 짧은 사용시간을 보완하기 위해 강우량에 따라 적절하게 공기 분사압을 변화시키는 것뿐만 아니라 공기우산의 사용인원의 조절을 위해 압력비와 분사구 형태에 따른 우산의 효과를 알아보는 것이 실 사용에 중요한 요소일 것이다. 이에따라 본 연구에서는 우산 앞 부분의 분출구 형상과 자유류와의 분사 압력비에 따른 자유류의 방어 능력을 확인해 보았다. 평면 분사구에서 압력비가 1.3, 1.5인 구간에서는 우산의 효과를 나타낼 수 없었고 압력비가 1.5인 구간부터 삼각형 분사구와 육각형 분사구에서 우산의 형태가 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 압력비가 2.0인 구간에서 육각형 분사구의 경우 통상적인 우산의 형상을 보이기 시작하는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • 직접분사식 디젤기관의 성능과 배기가스 문제에 여향을 주는 실린더 내에서의 연소형태는 크게 연료분사계와 흡입공기 유동계 두 가지에 의해 결정된다. 즉 분사율, 부사시기, 분무형태와 같은 분사계의 특성과 공기선회, 스퀴시(squish), 난류와 같은 공기 유동 특성에 의하여 연소형태가 결 정된다. 이러한 복잡한 연소형테를 기관 특성에 맞게 조정한다는 것은 대단히 어려운 문제인데 이것은 연료화 공기의 혼합이 연소실형상과 흡기계의 형상에 큰 영향을 받으며 연료가 액체 상 태로 연소실내로 들어와 분무과정을 통하여 증발이 되어야만 연소가 가능하기 때문이다. 특히 흡입공기 유동계에 있어서 현재의 직접 분사식 대젤기관의 흡입구 형상은 흡입공기의 운동에너 지에 모멘트를 가하여 연소실내에서 공기의 선희(swirl)를 발생시켜 줌으로써 연료와 공기의 혼 합기를 형성시키는 Helical type이 많이 이용되고 있다. 그러나 기관 성능과 배기가스 특히 NOx는 상반관계를 이루기 때문에 연소실내로 들어오는 흡입공기의 선희강도(swirl ratio)를 너무 강하게만 한다고 하여 좋은 결과를 얻을 수는 없다. 따라서 설계하고자 하는 각 기관에 있어서 요구되는 성능과 배기가스 문제를 만족하는 흡입공기의 선희강도가 얻어질 수 있도록 흡입구 형상을 설계한다는 것은 많은 연구와 경험이 요구되고 있다. 본 자료에서는 직접분사식 디젤기 관에 있어서 흡입공기의 최적 선희강도에 대한 설정방법과 흡입구 형상 설계를 위한 설계 이론 및 정상류 Rig test상에서의 흡입공기 선희강도의 평가방법을 소개하고자 한다.

Characteristics of the Transverse Fuel Injection into a Supersonic Crossflow using Various Injector Geometries (분사구 형상에 따른 초음속 유동장 내 수직 연료 분사 특성)

  • In this study, computational simulation was performed to investigate the characteristics of air/fuel mixing according to the shape of the injector exit when the transverse jet was injected into a supersonic flow. Non-reacting flow simulation was conducted with fixed mass flow rate and the same cross-sectional area. To validate the results, free stream Mach number and jet-to-crossflow memetum ratio are set to 3.38 and 1.4, respectively, which is same as the experimental condition. Further, separation region, structure of the under-expended jet, jet penetration height, and flammable region of hydrogen for five different injectors compared.

  • New design configurations were developed based on the closed ventilation type igloo nozzle in contrast to the conventional open distribution type. To validate the enhanced performance, the prediction of the exhaust flow patterns of the igloo diffuser was carried out by both experimental and computational simulations. CFD provided detailed parametric studies that significantly reduced the amount of experimentation necessary to alter the design of existing the F-15K igloo exhaust diffuser.

The Comparison of Spray Characteristics between FOOF and FOF Injectors used in Liquid Rockets (액체로켓용 FOOF와 FOF 인젝터의 분무특성 비교)

  • Triplet(FOF or OFO) injectors are commonly applied to liquid rockets which use LOX and hydrocarbon propellants. The FOF type injector has been known to have an advantage for the although to show lower combustion performance as compared by the OFO type. However, a large disparity between oxidizer and fuel orifice diameters of the FOF type injector may reduce both the combustion efficiency and stability so that as FOOF split triplet injector which splits a single oxidizer orifice into double orifices was designed. In the present study, spray characteristics of the FOOF injector were investigated and compared with those of the FOF injector undo. cold flow conditions. Mass distributions of oxidizer and fuel for both injectors were measured by using a PLLIF (Planar Liquid Laser Induced Fluorescence)technique, and each drop size was also measured by using an instantaneous photographic method. From the experimental results, we found out that FOOF shows more stable mixing efficiencies than the FOF. As for the drop size of both oxidizer and fuel, there was not a large difference between two injector types.

A Study on the Combustion Performance with Variation of Fuel Injection Hole Configuration at Supersonic Combustion (초음속 연소에서 연료 분사구 형상에 따른 연소성능 변화에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In order to investigate the effect of fuel injection hole configuration within the scramjet combustor, experiment and quasi-one-dimensional analysis was performed. And the results were compared with experiment and analysis result which were performed in 2008 with same facility and test condition. Fuel injection hole size was decreased and quantity was increased. However the depth of fuel penetration and flow quantity of fuel were maintained. As a test result, combustion performance was increased significantly with no-cavity injector and slightly with plain-cavity. However, combustion performance with zigzag-cavity was decreased.

  • The objective of the present study is to develop methodology for the assessment of combustion stability of liquid rocket injectors. To simulate actual combustion occurring inside of a thrust chamber, a fullscale injector has been employed in the study, which bums gaseous oxygen and mixture of methane and propane. The main idea of the experiment is that the mixing mechanism is considered as a dominant factor significantly affecting combustion instability in a fullscale thrust chamber. A single split triplet injector has been used with an open-end cylindrical combustion chamber. The characteristics revealed by excited dynamic pressures in gaseous combustion show degrees of relative acoustic damping depending on operating conditions. Upon test results, the direct comparison between various types of injectors can be realized for the selection of the best design among prospective injectors.

  • 최근 석탄 가스화 기술은 화석연료인 석탄을 기존의 공해물질 발생을 90%이상 줄이면서 고효율로 활용할 수 있는 방법으로 각광받고 있다. 본 연구는 당 센터에서 보유하고 있는 습식 석탄 가스화기의 성능 향상을 위하여 버너의 형태에 따른 미립화 특성을 파악하였으며, 가스화기의 버너로 적용하여 가스화 특성 실험을 실시하였다. 미립화 특성을 파악하기 위하여 개발되어진 3가지 형태의 버너를 Cold Test장치를 이용하여 $O_2$/Fuel Ratio 및 버너의 내부 혼합 방식, 분사각도에 따른 미립화 특성을 관찰하였으며, 입도 분석은 심파텍사의 입도 분석기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 실험 결과 이중혼합식 버너가 미립화 특성이 가장 우수하게 나타났으며, 외부혼합식 버너와 환형 버너의 경우 비슷한 미립화 특성을 나타내었다. 가스화기에 적용하여 실험한 결과 미립화 특성이 우수하게 나타나는 경우 가스화 특성 또한 우수하게 나타남을 확인하였다.

A Study of Adverse Health Symptoms of Spray Painters Using Isocyanates(HDI) (분사페인트에 의한 이소시안화물의 노출이 건강에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In the manufacturing industries using HDI(hexamethylene diisocyanate) product hardeners, exposure to HDI is common to spray painters in terms of inhalation and dermal or ocular contact. Due to a lack of information for spray painters in automobile and furniture industries, a questionnaire survey was conducted for the prevalence of adverse health symptoms(33 spray painters and an unexposed group n = 91) to assess the importance of personal controls. Despite the small sample size, common health symptoms were reported, such as skin symptoms(dry cracked skin-61% and dermatitis/skin irritation-33%) and respiratory symptoms(phlegm-49%, asthma-21%). In addition, other adverse health symptoms were reported, such as skin rash(12%), cough(39%), shortness of breath with wheezing(30%), chest tightness and difficulty in breathing(30%). No significant eye symptoms were reported. It was founded that the adverse health symptoms reported in this study were related to poor personal work practices and inappropriate PPE use. Therefore, appropriate personal controls like PPE use, work practices, regular training and education are suggested to minimize the risk of health symptoms. In addition, medical examination will also be suggested for individual health effects.

Simulation Study for the Performance Improvement of the Injector Module for Heavy-duty CNG Engines (대형 CNG 엔진용 인젝터 모듈의 성능 개선을 위한 연구)

  • A fuel supply system of heavy-duty CNG engine is composed as a module structure which is integrated by about 6 injectors. There are only one input and output passage for gas fuel supply in this injector module. The response performance for transient operation of an CNG engine is very poor because only one output fuel supply line is connected to the intake pipe after a throttle valve. In this study, a new guideline and internal flow design for the CNG injector module is suggested for the improvement of response performance by fluid dynamic simulations. As a result, the response performance of gas fuel supply can be improved by decreasing the total volume of internal flow passages and a same distance design from each injector to the exit of module shows good response performance and acquirement of linearity of fuel supply. But the injection order has little influence to injection performances.
