  • This paper proposes a new query-based document summarization method using the semantic feature matrix and the semantic variable matrix. The proposed method doesn't need the training phase using training data comprising queries and query specific documents. And it exactly summarizes documents for the given query by using semantic features and semantic variables that is better at identifying sub-topics of document. Because the NMF have a great power to naturally extract semantic features representing the inherent structure of a document. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance than other methods.

  • 본 논문은 3D 스캐너 및 센서 등으로 캡처되어 3D로 복원된 얼굴 객체의 부위별 의미 있는 영역에 대한 분할을 자동으로 수행하는 기술을 제안한다. 3D 스캔된 얼굴 모델을 모델링, 애니메이션, 3D 프린팅 등의 다양한 응용분야에 활용하기 위해서는 스캔된 영역의 의미 있는 부위별 인식이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 부위별 의미 있는 영역 레이블링이 된 템플릿 모델을 입력된 3D 복원 모델로 전이하여 복원된 3D 모델의 부위별 의미 있는 영역을 자동으로 분할하고 분할된 영역의 일관성을 유지하는 알고리즘을 제안한다.

Comprehending the Symbols of Definite Integral and Teaching Strategy (정적분 기호 이해의 특징과 교수학적 전략)

  • This study aims to provide a teaching strategy accommodating the symbols of the definite integral and guiding students through the meaning of notations in area and volume calculations, based on characterization as to how students comprehend the symbols used in the Riemann sum formula and the definite integral, and their interrelationship. A survey was conducted on 70 high school students regarding the historical background of integral symbols and the textbook contents designated for the definite integral. In the following analysis, the comprehension was qualified by 5 levels; students in higher levels of comprehension demonstrated closer relation to the history of integral notations. A teaching strategy was developed accordingly, which suggested more desirable student understanding on the concept of definite integral symbols in area and volume calculations.

Change Detection Using Deep Learning Based Semantic Segmentation for Nuclear Activity Detection and Monitoring (핵 활동 탐지 및 감시를 위한 딥러닝 기반 의미론적 분할을 활용한 변화 탐지)

  • Satellite imaging is an effective supplementary data source for detecting and verifying nuclear activity. It is also highly beneficial in regions with limited access and information, such as nuclear installations. Time series analysis, in particular, can identify the process of preparing for the conduction of a nuclear experiment, such as relocating equipment or changing facilities. Differences in the semantic segmentation findings of time series photos were employed in this work to detect changes in meaningful items connected to nuclear activity. Building, road, and small object datasets made of KOMPSAT 3/3A photos given by AIHub were used to train deep learning models such as U-Net, PSPNet, and Attention U-Net. To pick relevant models for targets, many model parameters were adjusted. The final change detection was carried out by including object information into the first change detection, which was obtained as the difference in semantic segmentation findings. The experiment findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could effectively identify altered pixels. Although the suggested approach is dependent on the accuracy of semantic segmentation findings, it is envisaged that as the dataset for the region of interest grows in the future, so will the relevant scope of the proposed method.

Effective Multi-Modal Feature Fusion for 3D Semantic Segmentation with Multi-View Images (멀티-뷰 영상들을 활용하는 3차원 의미적 분할을 위한 효과적인 멀티-모달 특징 융합)

  • 3D point cloud semantic segmentation is a computer vision task that involves dividing the point cloud into different objects and regions by predicting the class label of each point. Existing 3D semantic segmentation models have some limitations in performing sufficient fusion of multi-modal features while ensuring both characteristics of 2D visual features extracted from RGB images and 3D geometric features extracted from point cloud. Therefore, in this paper, we propose MMCA-Net, a novel 3D semantic segmentation model using 2D-3D multi-modal features. The proposed model effectively fuses two heterogeneous 2D visual features and 3D geometric features by using an intermediate fusion strategy and a multi-modal cross attention-based fusion operation. Also, the proposed model extracts context-rich 3D geometric features from input point cloud consisting of irregularly distributed points by adopting PTv2 as 3D geometric encoder. In this paper, we conducted both quantitative and qualitative experiments with the benchmark dataset, ScanNetv2 in order to analyze the performance of the proposed model. In terms of the metric mIoU, the proposed model showed a 9.2% performance improvement over the PTv2 model using only 3D geometric features, and a 12.12% performance improvement over the MVPNet model using 2D-3D multi-modal features. As a result, we proved the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed model.

Gallbladder Ejection Fraction Using $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA Scan in Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathy (당뇨병성 자율 신경병증에서 $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA를 이용한 담낭 배출율에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: We performed this study to evaluate the changes of gallbladder ejection fraction (GBEF) in diabetic patients with or without autonomic neuropathy. Materials and Methods: This study included 37 diabetic patients (25 women, 12 men, mean age 51 years) and 24 normal controls (10 women, 14 men, mean age 38 years). After intravenous injection of 185 MBq of $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA, serial anterior abdominal images were acquired before and after fatty meal. Regions of interest were applied on gallbladder and right hepatic lobe on 60 and 90 minute images to calculate GBEF. Results: GBEF was significantly reduced in diabetes with autonomic neuropathy ($43{\pm}12.3%$) and without autonomic neuropathy ($57.5{\pm}13.2%$) compared with normal controls ($68{\pm}11.6%$, p<0.05). And also, GBEF was significantly reduced in diabetes with autonomic neuropathy compared with diabetes without autonomic neuropathy (p<0.05). Fasting blood glucose level, age, sex, hemoglobin Alc, body mass index, serum lipid level were not different in these two diabetic patient groups (p>0.05). When 50.2% of GBEF was used as the criteria for diabetic autonomic neuropathy, the sensitivity and specificity were 80%, 76.5%, respectively. The area under receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.846. Conclusion: GBEF of diabetic patients with autonomic neuropathy was significantly reduced than that of diabetic patients without autonomic neuropathy.

  • Comic strip is a narrative sequence of cartoon panels. Comic strip book as a visual medium of communication is very effective for grasping objects visually as well as for developing creative thinking and culturing aesthetic sentiments. These aesthetic experiences awaken us to formative sentiments, The purpose of present paper is to study the visual streaming of the illustrated comic strips. The typical comic strip books are analyzed and the characteristic of visual communication is studied. The narrative illustrations in the form of comic strips encourage us to have a prosperous experience and to understand new formative artistry and the remarkable effect of visual experience.

A Method of Sound Segmentation in Time-Frequency Domain Using Peaks and Valleys in Spectrogram for Speech Separation (음성 분리를 위한 스펙트로그램의 마루와 골을 이용한 시간-주파수 공간에서 소리 분할 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the frequency channel segmentation using peaks and valleys in spectrogram. The frequency channel segments means that local groups of channels in frequency domain that could be arisen from the same sound source. The proposed algorithm is based on the smoothed spectrum of the input sound. Peaks and valleys in the smoothed spectrum are used to determine centers and boundaries of segments, respectively. To evaluate a suitableness of the proposed segmentation algorithm before that the grouping stage is applied, we compare the synthesized results using ideal mask with that of proposed algorithm. Simulations are performed with mixed speech signals with narrow band noises, wide band noises and other speech signals.

Comparing the Use of Semantic Relations between Tags Versus Latent Semantic Analysis for Speech Summarization (스피치 요약을 위한 태그의미분석과 잠재의미분석간의 비교 연구)

  • We proposed and evaluated a tag semantic analysis method in which original tags are expanded and the semantic relations between original or expanded tags are used to extract key sentences from lecture speech transcripts. To do that, we first investigated how useful Flickr tag clusters and WordNet synonyms are for expanding tags and for detecting the semantic relations between tags. Then, to evaluate our proposed method, we compared it with a latent semantic analysis (LSA) method. As a result, we found that Flick tag clusters are more effective than WordNet synonyms and that the F measure mean (0.27) of the tag semantic analysis method is higher than that of LSA method (0.22).

  • 본 논문은 이미지 데이터의 효율적인 코딩에 대한 새로운 방법을 나타낸다. 웨이블릿 변환을 기초로 한, 알고리즘은 서브밴드 간의 남아 있는 상관관계를 이용한다. 웨이블릿 계수들에 대한 성공적인 대략값은 계층적인 심볼 스트림을 초래하고, 그것은 PSD(의미있는 자손에 대한 예언)과 함께 매우 높게 압축된다. 코딩 알고리즘은 이미지 컨텐트에 대한 높은 적응성에 의해 그 자체를 구별한다. 초래하는 비트스트림은 그것들의 중요도에 대한 순서에 있어서 모든 이미지 정보를 구성한다. 그러므로 그것은 위험한 디코딩 과정 없이 어떤 지점에서 절단하는 것이 가능하다. 이러한 내장된 비트스트림의 이점은 공간적인 규모성(scalability)과 왜곡율이다. 좀 더 나은 향상은 웨이블릿 패킷으로 알려진 새로운 적응적인 웨이블릿 변환을 사용하여 획득된다. 초기의 기법들과 적합하지 않은 현재의 서브밴드에 대한 관련성있는 통계적인 특성들(특히 상관관계)은 처음으로 분석된다. 그것들에 의존하는, 서브밴드가 분해 유무에 관계없이 분해 결정이 만들어진다. 이러한 결과는 최고의 기본적인 선택이 아니고 최적에 가까운 분해 구조를 초래한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 모델의 가장 주요한 이점은 계산적인 비용의 축소이다.
