Systematic study of Korean Asparagus L. based on morphology and nuclear ITS sequences (외부형태와 ITS 염기서열에 기초한 한국산 비짜루속 식물의 분류학적 고찰)

  • Morphological and geographical examinations as well as phylogenetic analyses using ITS sequences were performed for Asparagus L. in Korea. A total of five species of Asparagus were confirmed to be distributed in South Korea. The shape of cladophylls, length of pedicels, and shape of perianth were considered to be important characteristics for the identification of Koran Asparagus species. A monophyly of each species was evident in the ITS phylogenetic trees in which multiple accessions (5 to 24, depending on species) represented each of the five Korean species. A. rigidulus Nakai, once considered conspecific to A. schoberioides Kunth, formed a distinct lineage in the ITS trees. Pedicels of A. rigidulus, which is distributed mainly in coastal areas, were about two times longer than those of A. schoberioides occurring in inland areas, suggesting that they should be treated as distinct taxa.

Suggestion for Proper Quality Assurance Type Classification Criteria of Military Supplies (군수품의 적정 품질보증형태 분류를 위한 제언)

  • Currently, the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality (DTaQ), which is responsible for the quality assurance of military supplies, divides munitions into four categories, in order to conduct its governmental quality assurance activities, including product examination, process review and system audit. However, these 4 categories may differ depending on the related organizations' (e.g. Defense Acquisition Program Administration, munitions manufacturing) military requirements. Therefore, in this study, appropriate classification criteria for munitions are suggested for the sake of the efficient procurement, production and quality assurance of military supplies. We investigated the item classification system of the Public Procurement Service, which is a similar organization to the DTaQ. We also compared the appropriate classification criteria with those of related organizations and identified the current status of munitions classification data according to the current standard. In addition, application samples are presented using the proposed quality assurance classification criteria. Finally, the classification criteria of military supplies proposed in this paper will contribute to improving the efficiency of government quality assurance activities.

Taxonomic identity of Artemisia integrifolia L. in Korea (한국산 큰외잎쑥(Artemisia integrifolia L.)의 분류학적 실체)

  • The taxonomic identity and distribution of Artemisia integrifolia L. were reviewed based on the specimens collected from Bukchangpyeong, Onseong-gun, Hamgyeongbuk-do (in KYO), Hamrimsan, Gyeongheung-gun, Hamgyeongbuk-do (in KYO) and Hoeyang-gun Gangwon-do (in SKK). A. integrifolia is distinguishable from A. viridissima and A. subulata by middle cauline characteristics such as cauline leaves ellipticlanceolate, 1-3 pairs with coarsely serrated margins. The illustration, description and key to similar species are provided.

  • C.elegans are often used to study of function of gene, but it is difficult for human observation to distinguish the mutants of C.elegans. To solve this problem, the system, which can classify the mutant types automatically using the computer vision, is now studying. Tn previous work[1], we described the preprocessing method for automated-classification system. In this paper, we introduce shape features, which can be extracted from an acquisition image. We divide the feature into two categories, which are related to size and posture of the worm, and each feature is described mathematically We validate the shape information experimentally. And we use hierarchical clustering algorithm for classification. It reveals that 4 mutants of the worm, which are used in experiment, can be classified with over 90% of success rate.

Classification of Trucks using Convolutional Neural Network (합성곱 신경망을 사용한 화물차의 차종분류)

  • This paper proposes a classification method using the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) which can obtain the type of trucks from the input image without the feature extraction step. To automatically classify vehicle images according to the type of truck cargo box, the top view images of the vehicle are used as input image and we design the structure of the CNN suitable for the input images. Learning images and correct output results is generated and the weights of neural network are obtained through the learning process. The actual image is input to the CNN and the output of the CNN is calculated. The classification performance is evaluated through comparison CNN output with actual vehicle types. Experimental results show that vehicle images could be classified with more than 90 percent accuracy according to the type of cargo box and this method can be used for pre-classification for inspecting loading defect.

A Numerical Taxonomy of Korean Ilex (Aquifoliaceae) (한국산 감탕나무속(Ilex L.) 식물의 수리분류학적 연구)

  • We performed the numerical analyses of thirty two morphological characters for twenty four populations of eight Korean Ilex L. taxa. Principal component analyses showed that the first three principal components were related to the total covariance by 67.0%, and the proportions of PCl, PC2 and PC3 were 31.5%, 21.1%, and 14.4%, respectively. And the closely related characteristics to the PCl, PC2 and PC3 were some reproductive characters such as the morphology of sepal, petal, anther, pistil and fruits and vegetative characters such as the morphology of petiol and leaf margin, the trichomes on the twigs, the leaf duration. From the two dimensional plottings by the eigenvalues of PCl, PC2 and PC3, six grouped were clustered as Ilex integra, I cornuta, I x wandoensis, I. rotunda, I. macropoda and I. macropoda for. pseudomacropoda, I. crenata and I. crenata var. microphilla. The numerical analysis was useful for the taxonomy of Korean Ilex because it clearly seperated the populations of taxa included in this study. The identification key was provided with the diagnostic characters.

  • A morphometric analysis is used to clarify the interspecific relationship between 4 species of the subgenus Parapagaronia in Pagaronia. The quantitative distinctions are confirmed at 87.5% of correct assignment in male and 96.25% in female.

  • 인간의 주관적이고 애매한 감성은 차세대 컴퓨팅의 다양한 분야에서 연구되며. 인간의 감성을 이해하고 감성의 변화에 능동적으로 반응하는 사용자 중심의 정보 처리에 대한 요구가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 우리는 감성기반 이미지 검색을 위해 저차원 시각정보에 대한 강성처리를 연구하고 있다. 기존의 저차원 시각정보 특징을 고려한 내용기반 이미지 검색 방법은 사용자의 취향이나 감성 요구에 적합한 결과를 검색하기에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 인간의 감성을 이해, 검색, 인식하기 위한 시각정보와 감성간의 관계 연구 중 우리의 기존 연구인 시각적 형태 정보의 감성어휘 공간에서 형태와 어휘간의 감성거리를 이용한 분류방법을 제안한다. 그리고 분류된 각 영역에서의 대표 어휘를 추출하여 시각적 형태에 따른 감성어휘간의 구체적 계층 관계를 정의한다. 이는 감성기반 이미지 검색 분야에 활용 가능한 연구이며, 우리가 사용하는 언어에 내재된 감성정보를 해석하고 그 어휘들의 체계적인 시각적 감성관계를 정의하는 의의를 갖는다.

An effective classification method for TFT-LCD film defect images using intensity distribution and shape analysis (명암도 분포 및 형태 분석을 이용한 효과적인 TFT-LCD 필름 결함 영상 분류 기법)

  • In order to increase the productivity in manufacturing TFT-LCD(thin film transistor-liquid crystal display), it is essential to classify defects that occur during the production and make an appropriate decision on whether the product with defects is scrapped or not. The decision mainly depends on classifying the defects accurately. In this paper, we present an effective classification method for film defects acquired in the panel production line by analyzing the intensity distribution and shape feature of the defects. We first generate a binary image for each defect by separating defect regions from background (non-defect) regions. Then, we extract various features from the defect regions such as the linearity of the defect, the intensity distribution, and the shape characteristics considering intensity, and construct a referential image database that stores those feature values. Finally, we determine the type of a defect by matching a defect image with a referential image in the database through the matching cost function between the two images. To verify the effectiveness of our method, we conducted a classification experiment using defect images acquired from real TFT-LCD production lines. Experimental results show that our method has achieved highly effective classification enough to be used in the production line.

  • 목차 및 권말색인과 같은 인쇄형태의 정보내용에 대한 구조화된 접근방식에서 착안하여 전자 문서의 내용에 대한 새로운 형태의 접근방식을 개발할 수 있는데, 이를 위한 방안으로 용어 자동분류 기법이 있다. 본 연구에서는 용어의 의미모호성 문제를 해결하는 동시에 용어간 계층관계 표현이 가능한 자동분류 기법으로 퍼지 클러스터링 기법을 제안하고, 대표적인 퍼지 클러스터링 알고리즘인 퍼지 c-means 기법에 대해 분석하고자 한다.
