In Katap-ri, South Korea, potteries and roof tiles are excavated with the assumed raw materials. Using NAA, the provenance of these cultural remains was examined among the neighboring others, and the correlation the assumed raw materials with potteries and roof tiles also was examined. From the results of statistics it is concluded that this cultural site is distingushed from others by several trace elements, Ba, Cr, Sc, Yb, Eu, and Rb with 93.2 % accuracy. Also it turned out that the assumed raw materials wasn't raleted to potteries and roof tiles with 96.3% accuracy.

General aspects of the scientific conservation of buried cultural properties were reviewed. Thus, instrumental survey of buried cultural properties, scientific conservation of excavated artifacts, (especially. the first aid treatments of the excavated artifacts at the excavation site) and scientific conservation of the excavated remains (conservation at the site or at transition sites) were treated in outline.

The preservation has been conducted for wooden ship timber excavated from Bonghwang-Dong, Gimhae, Korea. The species were analyzed for conservation as pre-treatment. Outer panel was analyzed as Cinnamomum spp. and trapezoid wooden material, wooden wedge was Cryptomeria japonica D. Don.. Wooden ship timber have been treated by vacuum-freeze drying after impregnation with aqueous PEG#3,350 solution(almost 45%). The timber of Bonghwang-Dong ship is considered as Japanese ship that many data such as conformation of ship, location of site, japanese artifact of around site were confirmed. In addition, The ship timber give us the important information about the international trade with Japan.

This study examined characteristics and structure of earthen Janggu that were excavated from Jeollabuk-do and other regions, and it described conservation process of earthen Janggu that were excavated from Samsanyujeok Jeonju. Earthen Janggu that were excavated from Samsanyujeok were destroyed and lost by more than one third, and they were thought to make use of them at living lives. We take an x-ray of center of the Janggu for inspect production technique and, destroyed area of the Janggu was recovered by making recovery frame made by plaster and using epoxy series CDK-520. After recovery, acrylic paint was used to do color matching and to get rid of sense of difference of the area that was recovered and remained.
